Chapter Six
(Kinkajou's POV)
I was practically bouncing in my seat the entire ride home, chattering the entire time to no one in particular, and I didn't stop until my mom, Orchid, had pulled into the driveway and I could get out. Still talking, I grabbed my bags and, as soon as Orchid unlocked the door so that me and my twin sister, Tamarin, could go in, I raced upstairs, flinging myself onto my bed with its pink comforter and sheets, plus the bright pink and yellow pillows that took up half the bed, not to mention all the stuffed animals. Knocking about half of the pillows and stuffies off, I grabbed my rainbow journal that I had made my 'Ships Journal'.
Flipping to the nearest blank page, I quickly scrawled down all of this years possible ships, with some writings about it. My writing still wasn't the best, but I couldn't be awesome at everything, could I? Just most things. I ended up writing this:
Lots of new ships this year!
Both Winter and Qibli seem to be interested in the awesome new girl Moon and there's that new boy that seems to have a lot of girls already hanging onto his every word so I wonder if any of my frends will end up with him I think his names Ebiss.
New ship name options could be
Moon and Qibli could be Moonbli
Moon and Winter Winterwacher since her full name is Moonwacher and it's a really pretty name
Glory and Deathbringer would be Glorybringer for sure
Riptide and Tusunami could be Tusutide but I think that Ripnami sounds so much better
Clay's as oblivious as ever but Perils totally crushing on him so theres Cleril
More coming soon!
Kinkajou the fangirl and shipper is out!
Closing my journal, I was satisfied for my ship-detecting for today. I loved doing it, and it's not like anyone ever read my shipping journal, so I didn't have to overstretch my brain by trying to spell absolutely everything right like I did for my classes. I yawned, realizing that I was exhausted after school. Orchid's voice rang from downstairs. "Kinkajou, Tamarin, come down for dinner!"
"Coming!" I called, stuffing away my journal and flicking my pigtails back. Running down the stairs, I slid in my socks across the wood floor and nearly fell on my face, but caught myself on the corner of the dining table. "Oh, Kinkajou." Mangrove sighed. "What are we gonna do with you?"
"Anything good!" I chirped, sitting down in my normal chair. My twin sister, Tamarin, came into the room a minute later. Moving more slowly than me, she took her seat carefully. Tamarin and me looked pretty similar, seeing as we were both short, slender, and we had the same face. Or so we were told. The differences were that my hair had been dyed pink and yellow, and hers blue and gold. My eyes were green, and hers were a blind blue. Tamarin had been born blind, but she had gotten to know the house an everything pretty well by now, which was why stuff was always put back where it came from and super neat and tidy and stuff. Except my room, of course.
Digging my fork into my spaghetti, I twirled it around and began to eat quickly. I did almost everything quickly. Except homework, since homework was awful and boring and bland. Almost as if on cue, Mangrove said, "How was the first day of Pyrrhia High?" directing the question to both me and Tamarin.
"Great!" I said, while at the same time Tamarin responded with "Good."
"There's a new girl from some other state or something-her name's Moon. We're friends now, and she's really nice, funny, kind, sweet, and quiet," I told my parents.
"Well, I'm glad that you're having a good time. That's great of you to help make Moon to feel welcome, too." Orchid said, smiling at me. "What about you, Tamarin? What happened for you?"
"Not much. Just the usual. Some whispers on the side, but it's nothing cruel. They just aren't used to being around blind people. I had to ask for directions a couple of time, but overall it wasn't too bad." Tamarin explained.
Before either of my parents could respond, I yawned widely and asked if I could go back to my room and do some homework before bed. My parents agreed, and I raced up the stairs and flopped on my bed, grabbing a random sheet of homework. Great, history. I ended up studying until past one, and by the time I was completely finished I collapsed onto my pillow, barely summoning the energy to brush my teeth, change into pajamas, and turn off the light before I was fast asleep and snoring. Hopefully I wouldn't be too tired to wake up tomorrow morning for school.
Sorry this was so short, but I wanted to publish because I haven't in a while. If you celebrate it, happy late Fourth of July! I'll try to update soon, but I'm kinda busy lately.
