Chapter 8 The Ruins
Juane (pronounced John) POV:
I woke up feeling drawn to the ruins. I wondered why. What could be there for me? I put on my clothes and picked up my sword, shield, map, and a canteen full of water. After having a light breakfast, I left without informing anyone and locked the door behind me, as I was embarking on a secret mission.
I traveled a great distance following the directions on the map. Before long, I found myself standing outside the ruins. Now, what do I do? I wondered.
I entered it unsure of where the place might take me. It was way different inside than I imagined. What did this have to do with finding Pyrrha?
I looked around and felt a strange sense of doom. As the seal to the entrance came down behind me with a crash, I realized I was trapped inside the place. I told myself it was not the time to panic. I had to find a way out of there fast and keep searching for her.
With a smile, I trudged deeper into the cave-like ruins and found some rubies and countless other jewels. As I traveled further, I soon spotted what looked like an exit. "Yes," I thought. I went out the doorway and found myself in a sandy beach area. "Where am I?" I wondered.
Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice speak. "Where am I? There is sand, but what is this? Why am I coughing up sand?" I turned towards the sound. "Is that you, Pyrrha?" I called out. I walked in the direction of the voice hoping it was her.
"John, John, is that you?" someone said. I walked closer and gasped.
I saw her dressed in a lovely blue dress, and it took me by surprise. Her beauty was more striking than I remembered, and I blushed at the sight of her. I was relieved to have found her at last. Could this all be real, or was it just a dream? I wrapped my arms around her, hoping she wouldn't fade away or disappear. To my relief, neither of those things happened; instead, she hugged me.
"Oh, John, am I happy to see you," Pyrrha said. "I am so glad I found you," I told her. "How did you get here?" I asked. "I'm not sure as I have no clues as to where here is," Pyrrha said. "The last I recall was fighting Cinder, then somehow was transported to Marbelsville, fought against tigers, had some people offer to make me queen, then others who accused me of trying to harm them, and finally I thought I was in bed, but felt sand under my feet," Pyrrha explained.
I smiled at her. "Well, you don't have to worry. Someone once told me not to let fear get the better of me and to stand up for what is right," I said. Pyrrha blushed. "I told you that," she whispered. I took her hand. I didn't want to risk losing her again after I had found her. I walked with her across the sand. I noticed a few glass buildings around, but none looked familiar. Where on earth were we? I shook some sand out of my boots. I walked over to a building and peeked inside. It was empty. How odd. What sort of town was this?
Turned out, I didn't have long to find out. Pyrrha and I were together, and that's what mattered the most to me.

Until then,
bye-bye,
little owlets!
Summer out!
