Chapter 5 Pyrrha's shield

       Weiss POV:

I refused to believe it. There was no way what Juane said could be true.

Pyrrha was dead like Rwby said and there was no way for us to bring her back.  We had a funeral for her. A statue was made in her memory so we could always feel like a small part of her was with us.

What I did not understand was, Why I found it. I was fighting the grime as usual when I stumbled upon something. I looked closer at it.

I could tell it was familiar. It was a small, round-shaped disk gold and red.

I looked closer at it and saw the handle.  I gasped. It was Pyrrha's shield, but what was it doing out here?  How had it gotten here? I thought she had it with her in the battle Juane said she had against Cinder.  So, why was it on the ground underneath the pine tree that I stood under as I fought one of the grime this morning?

I have to admit the whole thing confuses me.   I mean it would be unlike Prryha to be somewhere without the shield.  Yet, the day she died she did not have it with her? Why not?

Would it have made sense for her to keep it with her like she had at other times?

Something fishy was going on, and I was determined to find out what. I must get to the bottom of this whole thing, but I would not tell the others. There was no sense in getting Juane's hopes up.  I was not guaranteed this search of mine would lead to answers about her shield's unique qualities.

I decided to do some research to find out if it would give me clues to Pyrrha's whereabouts. Sure, her mother insisted her daughter was dead.  But what if she was wrong?  What were the chances that she was mistaken?

I took a photo of the shield while holding it up. I wore gloves the entire time to keep fingerprint smudges off. I did not want to contaminate it if it held evidence that might help find her.

I uploaded the photo to the computer. The picture started to be scanned for any possible traces of defects or bugs in it.

I waited to see what happened. I was shocked when twenty -minutes later the results showed up as "Prryha Nikos last known whereabouts Unknown. Current whereabouts said to be in Marblestone County."  Marblestone County what kind of place is that?  How did Prryha end up there, I thought. I did not say a word to anyone else about what I found.  There was no sense in telling them since there was still the off chance the computer had made an error.

I smiled.  It seems that perhaps Juane was right all along, Prryha was alive. Maybe, but there was still the possibility the computer was acting up and she was dead.  I hoped the former was true since I knew how much Juane missed her.  That and the fact, it would make more sense why no one had taken her shield.

I shut the computer down before anyone could see what I had been looking at on this nice day.  I watched Juane practice his swordsmanship alone. The poor guy had been impacted by Prryha's passing or disappearance way more than he would say.

I could tell he had grown accustomed to her. I knew he loved her. I smiled.

As nice as he was, he never was my type. I hoped perhaps, she were alive and trying to find a way home so Juane could stop pouting and return to his usual perky self. I missed his perkiness.

I missed how great Prryha and him were together. Yes, they made a great team, him, her, Nora, and Ren.  Time JNPR it had been called. I often thought Prryha must have nominated Juane as a leader since it was clear, she was more advanced in her skills than he was.
