Chapter 3 Back in Beaconville

   Juane "John" POV:

I looked everywhere for Pyrrha while Rwby fought Cinder at the tower.

Where on earth is she?  How could she have just vanished like that?

I am sure she was just here. I mean she was because I saw her.

I heard her say something to the girl, the one I think she called Amber, that she was here to become the new fall fairy. I was not sure I understood what that meant. I do know that Cinder attacked them both. The electricity in the tubes was shut off and Pyrrha passed out.

I know she was unconscious, but that is not the same thing as dead.

     So, where had she gone?

Cinder had taken her that was for sure. I knew because it was only her versus Rwby in a one-on-one battle right now.

I had to find some way to find proof to the others that Pyrrha was alive. How? They all seemed convinced she was dead.  How could they be so sure? It was not like they had seen what happened to her. I was the last one to see her alive.

Agh!  Great, now I sounded like I doubted her being alive. No, I was sure she was alive. She had to be. I knew it because we got along too well for her to be dead. She was my best friend for crying out loud and everyone knows a guy could use a best friend.

She had taught me how to fight when I was a wimp. Back, when I was not brave. Back when I felt like a hopeless jerk because I always said the wrong thing. At first, I liked Weiss, but it was clear she did not like me. Pyrrha was great. It did not hurt she was pretty too.

I had noticed that at the dance and I blushed. I had to wear a stupid dress because I agreed to some dare if Pyrrha made me blush I would. The amazing thing was she hadn't laughed at me. Instead, she said, "John, I know you were probably defending me. That is sweet, and I appreciate it." Then, she kissed my cheek. As if a guy were not red enough, now I blushed even more.

I  started my search beside the tree next to the rock. The rock where I was sure there were some odd test tube-like structures nearby. I found those but they were unplugged and smelled burnt like ash or something. Hmm, that was not good.

I saw no sight of Prryha. I promised myself I would find her no matter what it took.

Could I count on the winter fairy or summer fairies?  I was not sure I could trust the spring fairy. For some reason, I sensed she was nothing but trouble.

Ugh, I  dropped to my knees in despair. What would Pyrrha have done if the roles were reversed and she was stuck her without me?  I stood up, brushed the dirt off my jeans, and grabbed my sword and shield.

I practiced holding the sword and swishing it in the way she had taught me.

"Pyrrha, I do not know where you are, or how, but I will find you. I am coming Pyrrha, don't give up, it is me, John!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

I didn't care anymore if the others thought I had lost my mind. I knew she was out there and I was determined to find her. Find her I will, I thought.
