Pelts: A Brief Guide

Can be skipped. Can be referred back to later if needed.

originally written by Afzal of Mystic Pelt, Borealton prophet

The most important possession to a Wylfven wolf is his or her Pelt. It is the key to their power, and it makes a wolf who they are. However, do remember that each wolf is still an individual, and your Pelt does not define everything.

There are ten Pelts a wolf can expect to be chosen for, gained during a Pelt Ritual. They each affect the powers and appearance of the wolf in different ways. A brief description of each is detailed in the following pages.

Flame, flamewylf

Appearance: Red or orange fur, often large in size, muscular build

Powers: Control and create fire, usually very strong

Sea, seawylf

Appearance: Blue or green fur, webbed claws, gills

Powers: Breathe underwater, control water, some can allow others to breathe underwater for short periods of time

Earth, earthwylf

Appearance: Brown fur, sharp claws, the most common of all Pelts

Powers: Cause minor tremors in the earth, claws can cut through rock, very few can affect the growth of plants

Thunder, thunderwylf

Appearance: Gold or yellow fur, often small

Powers: Create charges of electricity (lightning), said to be more intelligent than other Pelts

Aire, airewylf

Appearance: Fur shifts to match the current sky, have feathered wings of varying shades - usually a colour found in the sky

Powers: Flight, manipulate winds, blend in with the sky above

Glitter, glitterwylf

Appearance: Pink fur of various shades, small in size, often described as attractive

Powers: Telekinesis (the ability to transport objects without making physical contact), place enchantments on items, some possess other magical abilities

Mystic, mystwylf
Appearance: Shades of purple fur, tall and magnificent, often radiate a mythic aura to entrance those around them

Powers: Telepathy (reading minds), recite prophecies, see visions of the future, speak with the future goddess Bhavisha - but this requires great skill as a prophet

Toxic, toxiwylf

Appearance: Green fur, stoutly built, glistening claws or fangs

Powers: Venomous claws or fangs, which often result in serious injury or death

Ice, icewylf

Appearance: Thick white fur, muscular build, huge tails, wide paws

Powers: Freeze objects with touch, mould and shape ice/snow, walk on thin ice

Shadow, shadewylf

Appearance: Black fur, sharp claws and fangs, surprisingly muscular

Powers: Radiate a wide range of emotions (though fear is easiest), can vanish into shadows, very skilled in combat

Remember - the Pelt does not control the wolf. The wolf is always in control.
