Chapter 7
Tay's POV
Well, it was Monday, and suffice to say the rest of the weekend had been quiet. Hayley hadn't said anything to me after the party, but what did I expect? She poured her heart out and all I could say was "I don't feel that way yet." Idiot!
As I took my seat in Mrs.Mcallister's class I feel the tension between myself and Hayley, who was sitting three seats away from me, and not making eye contact with anyone. I frowned at the blank look on her face, knowing I did that to her hurt me more than I could ever describe.
She was probably even more hurt when she realized that I left the house immediately after she left the room, probably heartbroken. I may not love Hayley, but I care about her a lot, and I could see it on her face that she was broken. I did that, I broke her.
Hayley's POV (The Morning After The Party)
As I quickly shut the door I sucked in a deep breath. I was so mad at myself for being so vulnerable, but also so heartbroken. I can't believe I told her all that, I should've known it was too soon! Now she probably thinks I'm some clingy weirdo.
"What are you doing?"
I jump as I hear Emily's voice. I look up to find her standing in my bathrobe, makeup and hair perfect. She always borrowed my shit when she came over, no matter how how annoying I found it. I gulped and ran my fingers through my hair, trying to gather a quick explanation.
"I was looking to see who all stayed the night." It wasn't a total lie.
She looked me up and down with a strange glint in her eyes, then gasped.
"You totally got laid!"
My eyes widened, and suddenly I remembered how I must've looked. Hair a mess, wearing last night's dress, my skin was probably shiny with afterglow, not to mention the hickeys and scratches that were probably on my neck and chest...it got a little crazy after a while, not that I regretted it.
I stood speechless, gulping a little in fear. Emily only smirked and came closer until she was standing right in front of me.
"Is that why you were really coming out of this room? Is the mystery man in there?" She asked with a teasing tone in her voice.
Suddenly my grip on the knob got even tighter, as I gulped once again. I couldn't let her go in that room. I may love Tay, but I wasn't ready to be publicly outed for her. I had to think of something, and quick!
"I don't know what you're talking about Em?" Denial, that's good Hayley.
Emily rolled her eyes, "oh please Hayles! The evidence is all over you! And from what I see you must've had quite the night."
I blushed, last night was the most special night of my life. It was romantic and incredible, and just perfect. I didn't want it to end, and then this morning happened.
"See! You're blushing! That means whoever he was it was really good?"
I blushed even redder as I nodded my head honestly. If only she knew he was actually a she.
"Was it that weird kid that follows you like a puppy...uh....Chad?"
I shook my head, Chad was sweet and all, but he did follow me around too much, and he always acted like I was so fragile. Some girl was yelling at me in the school parking lot one time, and when Chad saw he came over and threatened to hunt her down if she ever spoke to me again. It was nice, but it was way too much. I kept my distance from him as much as I could after that.
"Was it Josh?"
I rolled my eyes, "no, I didn't sleep with Josh. We've been over for a year now."
"Taylor?"
"Taylor and I are just friends, I'd never jeopardize our friendship like that."
"But he's soooo hot! And you guys would be, like, perfect for each other." She gushed.
This has to be about the billionth time she brought up all this 'Tayley' nonsense. I don't understand why people couldn't understand that Taylor and I were happy being just friends. The same way they couldn't understand that Josh and I are OVER.
Emily sighed with a shrug, "fine, if you're not going to tell me I guess I'll have to see for myself."
My whole body when into shock as she reached for the knob. She place her hand over mine and twisted. When it opened she rushed in and looked all around, but the room was empty. I felt a frown come over my face, she ran out on me. Emily walked out of my bathroom with a perplexed look on her face, suddenly a breeze flew through the room. Both of us stared at my open window, my curtains blowing in the wind.
"Looks like Prince Charming escaped through the window, bummer .."
I just stared at the open window sadly. She left me.
Tay's POV *present time*
After school the guilt in me had finally built up so much that I caved. I went to the school office and got Hayley's address. I had to make this right, I had to let Hayley know that I still cared about her, and I still wanted to be with her.
~~~
After driving around for a while I finally parked in Hayley's driveway. You'd think I'd remember my girlfriend's address, then again I was only here that one time for the party. I stopped getting lost in my stupid thoughts and got out of the car.
Just as I was about to knock on the door, it opened, and I came face to face with a short, blonde woman with a frantic look on her face. She looked a lot like Hayley, this must be her mother.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
I was silent for a while until my mind finally let me form a sentence, "I-I'm here for Hayley."
Hayley's mother rose an eyebrow in suspicion, "for what?" she questioned.
"We're partners for a school project." Thankfully I answered with seeming so terrified this time.
She nodded and let me into the house, finally. She ran to the large staircase and yelled, "Hayley your friend is here!"
Not even a few minutes later, Hayley came downstairs. She seemed okay, until she saw me, then a deep frown came over face. Hayley's mother walked up to her and gave her a stern look.
"This girl says she's here for a school project, do not let her stay past 7:30, do you understand me?"
Hayley nodded, and her mother continued speaking.
"Your father, Erica and, I will be at your grandmother's for approximately 72 hours, I would like this house in the same shape when we get back, Hayley Nichole."
Hayley nodded once more, and her mother smiled.
"Glad we're understood, we love you sweetie."
After that she gave Hayley a quick hug and exited the house, moments later a car could be heard pulling out of the driveway. Hayley looked at me before walking back upstairs. I followed her up the long staircase, and into a room. I slammed the door behind me after I entered, as I looked around this room suddenly became more familiar. This was the room. The room she took me to at the party.
"This is your room." I said my thoughts out loud.
Hayley, who was sitting on her bed with her arms crossed, nodded, not making eye contact with me.
"Why did you bring me here then?" I questioned.
"Because, I wanted to, I wanted it to be special." She mumbled.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, my guilt coming back.
"Hayley, I am so sorry I left you-"
"Save it!" Hayley cut me off, angrily.
She got up and stood in front of me, her fists clenched at her sides. I just stood there, speechless.
"I pour my heart out to you, and all you can do is reject and leave me? You're nothing but a bitch, Tay!"
I'm a bitch? Okay, now, it's on!
"We had been together two weeks! What was I supposed to say? Oh, Hayley, I barely know you, but yeah I love you too?"
I saw the shock come over Hayley's face before it was quickly replaced with anger again.
"How dare you. I overcame my sexuality for you, I risked my popularity for you, and you just insult me?" She said in a monotone voice.
I almost laughed, "risked your popularity? If I'm correct, you're not out, Hayley. And you certainly never made an attempt to make us public in the last two weeks, face it, you're nothing but a coward."
I saw the anger boil over. Hayley ran towards me and her hands gripped my shoulders as she pushed me into the door. I was shocked, but fought back. I pushed her back and we fell on the bed. We rolled over each other, trying to do as much damage as we could. Hayley finally was able to pin me underneath her. We were both breathing heavily, our eyes locked on each other's. The tension between us shifted from anger to...something else.
~*~*~*
Hayley rolled off me, both of us breathless and tired. I rested my head on her shoulder, and she responded by wrapping an arm around me. I can't believe we just had sex. And I was sober this time, I couldn't really remember our first night together, I wonder if it was as amazing as what we just did. Hayley had a satisfied smile on her face, until she looked at me. She bit her lip, nervously. I didn't blame her, we just had sex after screaming at each other, I didn't know how to feel about it either. I said the first thing that came to my mind.
"I'm sorry."
Hayley sighed, "me too."
We shared a smile, as Hayley reached her other hand out and softly caressed my cheek. I melted into her touch. It honestly felt very natural being with her. Especially now that I had become accustomed to her staring at me with loving eyes. Maybe I was falling for her too? It was honestly a scary thought. I've never been in love with anyone before, and after my parents divorce I was even more hesitant to let myself fall for anybody. But there's just something about Hayley, she's like the missing puzzle piece, the thing I needed to finally let myself be vulnerable again.
I bit my lip, "Hayley, I know I don't love you just yet, but I do care about you a lot, and if you let me, I'd love to be your girlfriend."
She smiled at me widely, making her nose crinkle in the most adorable way.
"I'd love that, I love you, Tay."
I leaned in and kissed her softly, but soon the passionate spark between us was ignited again. Hayley slowly climbed on top of me, using her hands to hold herself up. I brought my arms tightly around her neck. All of the sudden, she pulled away with a strange look on her face. She looked at the radio on her bedside table, which had been playing quietly since I got here. I listened closely to the song that was on; Snuff by Slipknot. Hayley looked at me, biting her lip.
"This should be our song." She whispered.
I smiled and nodded. She leaned down and kissed me again, while reaching out her arm, turning the song on full blast. Our lips moved fluidly with each other's. Hayley was the one to deepen the kiss. I have to admit, I found her dominance very sexy. I let my leg come up and hook around her waist. Almost immediately, Hayley's hand came back, gently rubbing my thigh slowly back and forth. I moaned against her mouth, and felt her smile into the kiss. Hayley's hand slowly began inching towards my center, that is until an earth shattering scream brought us out of our moment.
We both looked at her doorway, where her petrified looking mother stood. Hayley quickly moved from on top of me and we both covered ourselves with her blankets. Hayley's mother came marching towards the bed. The first thing she didn't was completely unplug the radio, the she pointed a finger directly in my face.
"How dare you!" She spat.
"How dare you corrupt my daughter with your ways, leave this house, you are forbidden from ever coming near my daughter again! And I will make sure the school and your parents know that as well."
Hayley and I both gasped, but Hayley was the one to speak.
"No, mom, you can't do this, I love her!"
Her mother narrowed her eyes in disgust, then focused them back on me.
"Leave this house, and never return!" She shouted, pointing at the door.
I slowly got up and got dressed. I walked towards the door, looking back at Hayley, who had tears streaming down her face. My heart broke then and there, and I walked down that long spiral staircase, and out the door.
So I've been working on this for a while, I know I haven't updated this story in over a year, but I thought to myself "eh, what the hell?" I probably will start this story up again, it'll probably on be a few more chapters though. Also, I posted a part in my story earlier today, before I even found out that this was possibly Hayley and Chad's wedding day (congrats to them if it is!), so I just wanted to point out that I'm not psychic haha - H
