*2 weeks later*

Hayley's POV

"And in conclusion the only thing that really separates us all is the state of mind we think we belong to"

I said. We were rehearsing the speech for the presentation and of course Tay wrote a brilliant one

She clapped "bravo miss Williams" she said jokingly. I laughed setting the paper back on her desk

I looked at my watch and frowned "sorry I gotta go" I apologized grabbing all my stuff

"I'll walk you down" Tay said absentmindedly causing me to blush without really meaning to

She walked with me towards the door but stumbled over something and fell into me pinning us both to the door

We both looked up at the same time locking eyes. Our breathing seemed to slow down simultaneously

Tay started to lean in and I did the same. Her lips were so soft and her lip gloss was so...delicious.

She took my lower lip between her teeth and bit down roughly. I moaned quietly causing her to do it again, rousing the same response out of me

Her tongue pressed to my lips and I opened my mouth a bit. I let her take control since this was the first time I ever did something like this

She moaned into my mouth this time and pulled away burying her face in my neck, kissing it lightly

"How long have you wanted to do that" I chuckled breathlessly "since the day we almost kissed" Tay panted

"Ditto" I responded. She smiled and pecked my lips softly, I tangled my hands in her hair tugging at it gently

Tay pulled away and rested her forehead against mine. I frowned at my sudden realization

"We can't" I said walking across the room away from her "but Hayley what about us" she pleaded

I stayed silent "what about the sparks when we kiss, the blushing, the attraction that just seems to draw us closer to each other like a super magnet" Tay said

I shook my head "if everyone found out my life would be a living hell" I declared dramatically

I felt Tay's arms wrap around my waist and I automatically leaned into her "we don't have to tell anyone until you want to" she whispered

I turned to face her "you don't want to tell anyone" I asked with a frown, Tay shook her head

"No believe me I'd love to scream to the world that you're mine but I know you're not ready for that" she said

I smiled "I'm yours" I whispered, Tay blushed "if you wanna be" I nodded and wrapped my arms around her

She looked deep into my eyes before kissing me passionately. I responded immediately

"Babe as much as I'd love to continue this I have to go" I whispered against her lips and felt her smile before pulling away

"I like that you should only address me by babe from now on" she instructed tucking some hair behind my ear

I smirked "sure thing babe" she smiled and nodded "and I think I'll call you sexy thang" she said

"Yeah and I think you won't" I scolded playfully. She sighed "okay I'll shorten it to sexy"

I smiled "okay that'll work" my smile faded when I saw her alarm clock "I'm sorry but I really have to go" I said

She sighed sadly and we walked downstairs. When her mom came into the room she stopped us

Tay's POV

I thought about what I was about to do "mom can you come here a second" I asked

My mother smiled and walked over "what is it sweetie" she asked worriedly

I laced my fingers through Hayley's "mom this is Hayley" I paused "my girlfriend" I finished

She smiled warmly at Hayley "it's nice to meet you dear" she said extending her hand

Hayley shook it cautiously "you're okay with this" Hayley questioned, my mother smiled

"Of course dear anyone who makes Taylor happy is alright with me" my mother said

Hayley nodded "but um I think it'd be best of you girls studied down here from now on" my mother stated

Hayley blushed "no problem Mrs.Jardine" my mother frowned and I leaned to whisper in Hayley's ear

"My parents got divorced when I was a kid and my dad died a few years ago"

Hayley shook her head "I'm so sorry" she apologized looking from me to my mother

"It's alright dear" my mother said and I nodded "kids" my mother called into the kitchen

"Um no mom you can't introduce them Hayley's not out yet" I whispered quickly, my mother nodded mouthing the word oh

Devin, Sam and Lindsey walked through the door "um never mind" my mother said, they all shrugged walking back into the kitchen

"Sorry bout that dear but if you don't mind my asking how can I be sure that you truly love my daughter if you can't even claim her in public"

"Mommm" I whined angrily, Hayley looked down seemingly ashamed that she couldn't confront her sexuality

"Well I'm sorry but it's a fair question" my mother defended "mom Hayley isn't ready and I respect that" I said

"Well when she is tell me I'll be sure to give you my blessing" my mother said walking into the kitchen

"Hayles I'm so sorry" I apologized pulling a sad looking Hayley into my arms "I'm not ashamed of you I'm ashamed of myself" Hayley whispered

"You shouldn't be Hayles. I know you're not ready and it's okay I'll wait as long as we have to" I said

I felt Hayley smile against my neck. I pulled away kissing her softly
