Swimming Lessons( Request)

It was a hot summer day in San Ricardo. Everyone was out to get themselves cooled down. And best solution on a scorching summer day was to go to the beach.

Even for a cat that wasn't fond of the water, there were times that felines were willing to get wet to cool their bodies down from the harsh heat.

"Come on, Kitty. Join us! The water is actually very nice!"

"No"

The tuxedo cat replied flatly, sitting away from the others. They were at the beach with their friends to cool down and have fun. Kitty was the only one sitting away on a dry rocky edge of the water. "Come on Kitty! You're gonna miss out!" Perrito called out to her and he laughed when Carlos jumped in the water near him, splashing him. She chuckled amused at them but she lied down, licking her paws to cool herself. On one hand, she wouldn't mind getting wet to save herself from this scorching heat. On the other hand, there was a more particular reason. And someone figured it out.

"Kitty. Is this because you can't swim?"

Puss asked her, leaning on the edge with his arms crossed as she paused in her licking with her blue eyes on him. The ginger realized that he was the only one out of the two that swims. He remembered last time he had to save her from drowning in their golden egg heist.

"I just don't like to get wet ginger" she told him, not wanting to admit that she lacks in a certain skill. To be honest, even for a cat, they both knew  that swimming was a needed skill. Especially when you do adventuring.

"Kitty. Out of the two, I'm the one who does the swimming" he pointed out to her as she turned her back to him to him. "I am gonna take a nap" she told him hoping he would give up and leave her in peace. "Kitty" he said her name firmly, and without hesitation, splashed some water on her. She jumped up as she felt the cold liquid hit her fur. The tuxedo cat snarled at him, swatting his head as punishment. You know, usual cat behavior.

"Come on Kitty. You're gonna be a roasted Gata if you stay out in this heat. I can teach you if you like" he offered her. The summer heat was no joke in Spain, and he was genuinely worried about her. It was important to avoid overheating.

Kitty sighed in defeat, seeing that she wouldn't get any rest. "If I join you, will you stop bugging me?" She asked him irritated. The tabby nodded his head yes with an excited smile forming. "Fine. What do I have to do?" She asked him, glancing away. Not realizing the mishevious look on her boyfriend's face.

"Lesson one. Get in the water"

SPLASH!

"Ay! Puss!"

Everyone turn their heads when they heard a splash and Kitty yelling. The ginger cat had pulled her into the water. Now her black and white fur was soaked, dewdrops dripping from her. "Ay you stupido! You got my boots wet!" She shouted at him, slapping at the water to splash him. The ginger just chuckled amusingly

"I'm sorry mi amor. I just had to do that" he told her, watching her take her boots off and setting it aside to dry. Her friends chuckled amusingly at their relationship. "Ok, ok. Now let's begin lesson two, shall we?" He told her as she looked at him unamused.

Puss helped her with the basics, like learning to kick with your legs in the water and moving your arms. Thankfully, she already knew how to breathe underwater. The tuxedo cat was a fast learner but now the real challenge was swimming in the deep water.

"Alright. Now put your arms around me. I'm going to guide you" he instructed her, turning his back to her. Kitty actually found herself froze for a moment. His orange fur seemed to shine from the water with the drops dripping down. "Kitty? Everything ok?" He asked her turning his head to look at the silent theif. The water dripping down his face and fur made her blush. It made him look more handsome than usual.

"Uh yes! Let's just get this over with" she said, snapping herself out of it as her arms looped around his neck as her eyes averted away from his. Puss didn't think much on it and just started swimming with Kitty holding onto him. They swamed around their friends who were playing around.

Perrito doggie paddle around his friends to greet them. "Maybe Perrito can teach you how to swim" Puss suggested to her, making her glare at him. "Isn't this nice Kitty? I'm so glad you get to experience this" the dog told her happily. She just chuckled amusingly at his little positive outlook in life. But she did enjoy this. Getting to be with them.

Puss notice her smiling and thought to himself that maybe she was ready for her final lesson. "Ok Kitty. Now, I gonna let you go and you're gonna swim on your own" he told her but that made her eyes widen.

"No no! I'm holding onto you!" Kitty immediately disagreed, tightening her hold around his neck. "Seriously?! Come on Kitty! You're acting like a gatita!" He told her, finding this annoying. Especially since her hold around his neck was very tight.

Suddenly, Kitty found both her and Puss going into the water without warning. The tuxedo cat felt the ginger cat's body go limp in her paws. She stared at him, confused and unwrapped her paws from his neck. He started sinking.

Her blue eyes widen alarmed, realizing something must be wrong. Kitty starting kicking her legs to move towards him and her arms wrapped around his chest. She released one of her arms to push herself up to the surface.

Perrito and the others climbed onto the dry land, watching their friends to see what was going on. The cats emerged back out of the water as Kitty brought Puss onto dry land. She pushed herself up onto the dry edge, looking at him. He was awake and breathing fine so that was a good sign.

"Què pasa? Are you ok?" She asked him concerned, wondering what happen in the water. The ginger cat just smiled at her casually, much to her confusion. "You see? You swim good" he told her, pleased to see his swim lessons paid off. Kitty pondered for a moment until it hit her. He wasn't in real danger. He was faking it.

Kitty stared at him for awhile before her face turned into a mix of annoyance and anger. Without hesitation, she pushed him off the edge and he fell into the water. "Since I can swim now, I might as well repay you. By drowning you!" She told him as she jumped onto him in the water. The ginger began swimming for his life as his friends watched, letting him pay the price for a trick like that.
