If only the world wasn't so cruel... it had taken everything from her...

Her peace of mind, her ability to walk, and it had even taken away the guy she loved... although she sucked at admitting it.

Yesterday however, lexVluthor had restored her legs to working fully again, allowing her to once again be The Batgirl. Life was slowlh getting better...

If only...

Suddenly a crash was heard in her kitchen, which made her jump in fear. She quickly got up and grabbed a bat from her bedside and snuck into the kitchen.

With a shout, she swung hard at the intruder, only to have him catch it. She opened her eyes to see he caught the bat and then looked to him...

No... it can't be...

The man, was none other than Dick Grayson. He was alive. Nightwing was alive.

Her heart fluttered with a mix of emotions as they stared into each other's eyes.

Dick chuckled, and set up to make a witty comment as always. "I see the surgery paid of-" But he stopped, the girl was in tears as she looked down at his feet, slowly slumping to the ground.

"Barb?" He asked, concerned for the girl. "Are you ok?"

"*sniffle* Y-yeah... I mean, you're here and... it's so hard to believe you're here... you died on TV for godsakes Dick!" She shouted as she beat his leg, over, and over. Pounding away in hopes to make this horrible and sick illusion end.

But it never did, and she was left to stay at his leg, curled up against it like a small child.

With a sigh, and a heavy heart, he swooped up the girl into his arms, carrying her back to her bedroom and setting her in her bed.

He then took off his shirt and threw it aside, climbing into the bed with her. "I'm here now Barbara... and I promise you I won't ever leave you again."

She buried her face in his chest and sobbed quietly. "O-okay." She stammered.

He then kissed her softly on the forehead as the two laid like that until eventually falling asleep in each other's arms, drifting off into the realm of dreams... where they dreamt of their new life.

And everything was perfect.
