Chapter 21:"I've made my decision"
Danny's heart was bumped and bruised at the same rate that Joanna's tears was falling. "Jo-." His breath caught in his throat when he tried to comfort her. 'What was I thinking? Hurting someone that loved me so much and I love her just as much, yet I cheated on her.' Words of reproof swarmed in his head before he inched towards her. Joanna found herself, too busy admiring his chiseled jawline and mesmerizing golden brown eyes that seemed to lure her in, even more than she already was.
Feelings of regret and tenderness had pervade the air as their eyes met. 'No..Joanna, you can't go back to him!!!' Her mind bellowed yet her feet foolishly moved forward anyways. Danny took her actions as hope, hoping that somehow she found it in her to leave the handsome idol she's dating and come back to him. Hoping that they can rekindle the passion they once shared with each other. 'Do I miss him? Do I still love him?' All those questions churned in her mind, yet when she wracked her brain for answers, there weren't any.
All Joanna felt was his warm hands cupping her face, breathing out apologies and words of affection. Although she protested with all heart, not letting her heart cave in and forgive him. "Danny..." Joanna muttered as his eyes shot up while he rested his forehead against hers. "Yeah?" He breathed out which sent tingles down her spine before he crashed his lips against hers in a kiss overflowing with passion and blazing warmth.
She reveled in the feelings of having his arms wrapped around hers, they had always given her the sense of security, that she belonged to him and he belonged to her. However right then, the heart-wrenching image of him taking another girl into his arms in the same loving way that he had done with her bursted out in her head.
She shoved him back while he held her against him and rested his forehead on hers. "What's wrong?" He questioned softly, still clueless as to why she pulled away so suddenly when they were performing such an intimate act with each other. "I can't lean on you. Or even love you like before. I have Taehyung who loves me more than anyone else, and the wretched image of you with another girl had been permanently carved into my memories."
Joanna said as Danny's face fell along with his hands that had previously been resting on her waist. "Babe.." He mumbled and that one word made the dam of tears in her eyes erupted as she ran away from him.
'I'm a horrible person.' Joanna thought as she raked her hand through her hair, the memory of her kiss felt wrong when she already has Taehyung. 'I'm so sorry, Taehyung oppa.' Joanna apologized mentally at the thought of what she had done, and if Taehyung was to find out. She simply couldn't bare the thought of losing him.
"Thank you for being a fan of my book! Please keep supporting me." Emily recited with a smile for the nth as she sighed exasperatedly. She loved and were thankful for the fans that enjoyed her stories and came out all the way to get her autograph on the copy of the book.
However, Alice's threat had made an impact on her along with how monotonous it was to recite the same words to every person that came up to her. "Keep that smile on your face before I make things worse for you." Alice muttered quietly with gritted teeth as Emily rolled her eyes inwardly.
Her phone suddenly rang as Jin's name popped up with heart emojis surrounding his name. "I'm so sorry. I'll be right back." She apologized to the fan before walking towards the back to answer her phone. Alice glared at her with a mortified face before apologizing profusely to the fan.
"Hello? Jin oppa, how's practice?" Emily greeted affectionately with a smile on her face that only widened as Jin greeted her back enthusiastically. "Jagi! Practice is going alright, nothing special. How's the book signing going?" Emily sighed softly as she leaned against the wall for support, the weight of Alice's threat still hung heavily in her thoughts.
"It's going alright, but now I understand how you feel during fanmeets." Emily said with a chuckle as Jin laughed amusedly. His warm laughter resonated through the speakers of the phone, making her wish he was right there with her.
Suddenly, Alice's voice rang out angrily. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" She snapped as Emily slammed the phone down on the counter, forgetting to hang up on Jin as she argued with Alice. "Relax, it won't kill my career to take a small break." Emily said as Alice stormed up to her and roared. "I can guarantee I will make your life a living hell if you try to ruin this." Emily scoffed as she angrily poked a finger at Alice's shoulder.
"Oh yeah? I'd like to see you try. Your boss is the one that wants me here, so technically you have no right to be threatening me." "Oh please, I can steal your little husband and daughter away from you, if I wanted to." Alice rebuked with a smirk as Emily's gaze landed on her ongoing phone call with Jin. 'He heard everything.'
For the first time, she was able to use Jin's protectiveness to shield off bullies. Jin felt his blood boil when he heard the other voice speaking rudely to his precious wife, that he loved more than life itself. "Jagi, I'll be right back." Jin said hurriedly before hanging up and running to where the book signing was held.
Alice's eyes widened in horror when she realized that Jin heard everything. "Oh please, you actually thought you had a chance with him?" Emily spat before pasting on a smile and going back to greeting the fans. Jin arrived soon after with a bouquet in his hand as he waited in line, a bright smile graced his lips as he approached his wife. "Jagi~!!" Little did Emily know, Chae Young was standing behind him and tightly gripped her mommy's book.
"Aigoo, you guys both came!" She cheered happily as she reached out and held them both tightly in her arms. "Umma, can you sign my book?" Chae Young asked innocently as Emily felt her heart melt when she scribbled her name onto her daughter's book. While Jin puffed his cheeks out in front of her, as though expecting a kiss.
Emily shyly pecked his cheek but right before her lips hit his cheek, he turned his head and made her lips land on his. "I love you, Jagi!" Jin cheered as he caressed her cheek. The fans went wild as the book signing soon concluded.
Alice pasted on her innocent act as she walked to Jin, expecting his warm smile and open arms, however all she received was a glare from him and a smirk from Emily. "Jin.." She called out, her annoying cutesy voice which irked Emily out too dangerously much. "I kind of overheard you screaming at my wife earlier? And your threat of stealing me and our daughter, is certainly despicable." Jin scolded as Alice's eyebrows contorted in anger.
While Emily leaned against Jin, proud and delighted at how he stepped up for her. Alice's boss suddenly appeared, his face red with fury. Fury directed at Alice which only made Emily reveled in her mini triumphant. "Alice!" He hissed, voice like acid.
"How could you treat such important guests like that?!" He snapped, gesturing to Emily and Jin respectively. Alice cowered in front of him, feeling angry and humiliated. "I'm so sorry, she will be taken care of properly. Please tell me, if this ever happens again." Although his voice was soft and his smile was kind, Emily knew better than to trust him.
" I will, thank you. Thank you for handling this matter in a mature manner." Emily said with a small smile before walking away in Jin's arms with Chae Young in her arms. "Umma~!! I love your book!"
Sheri finally arrived at the Incheon airport, as she lugged her suitcase with her. "Ughh, I'm so tired." Sheri muttered as she rubbed her eyes, feeling her heart swell with emotion as she noticed Namjoon standing behind the gate with Suho, waiting patiently for her. "Oppa! I'm right here!" Sheri called out as she trudged with her heavy suitcase behind her, running towards them at the speed of the sun rising at dawn.
How much she missed them and how lonely she felt without Suho clinging to her and resting in her arms. She didn't realize that she even missed how clumsy Namjoon is as a person, until she laid stark awake, feeling unable to sleep without the sound of something crashing and his weight beside her.
"Jagi, we missed you so much!! Did you win first place?" Namjoon asked with sparkling, mischievous eyes as Sheri nodded earnestly. "Ah that's my wife!!" Namjoon exclaimed proudly as he pulled Sheri into his loving embrace.
"Umma! I missed you and your cooking!" Suho called out as Sheri's heart melted with overwhelming love for her son. His tiny hands grasped the back of her neck as he rested his head on her shoulder. "Aigoo, I missed you too, my son."
Their family of three walked to the car together as they strapped Suho into the backseat before Sheri collapsed into the seat. Namjoon smiled warmly and pulled her head onto his shoulder. "Rest as much as you can, babe." Namjoon muttered with a kiss to her forehead before she drifted off to sleep.
Mella and Yoongi were sitting in his studio, eating takeout and chattering softly with each other as Yoongi found himself, lost in the sweet fragrance of her hair and her beautiful smile. "How are you so beautiful?" Yoongi blurted out with a serious solemn face as Mella giggled to herself and looked away shyly.
"Ah let me admire you for a little more." Yoongi whined softly as he cupped her face and smiled brightly at her. "Oh yeah, I forgot!" Yoongi called out as Mella's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Yoongi subtly placed earbuds in her ears before sounds of his newest piece filled her ears.
"Uh yeah. Your voice is like the soothing rain on a ridiculously hot day. Your touch awakens every nerve in my body, how is that possible? Your flower-like aromatic hair is my favorite scent out of the whole world. How is it possible that you had become my whole world? Each time we fight, the fear of losing you lingers in my mind, making me unable to sleep and constantly anxious until we finally make up." His warm and raspy voice had made the song even better as she leaned against him in his arms.
She began air writing on his arm as he looked down, in attempts of deciphering what she had just written. 'Min Yoongi Is My Destiny. ' His shy smile only widened as he rocked her side to side, holding her securely in his arms. How much Mella loved the rare moments where he's simply overflowing with tenderness and passion.
Teresa and Jungkook were walking their puppy, Teresa was in Jungkook's arm as he constantly stole kisses when she least expected it. "Jungkook oppa~!!" She would whine and demands that he ceased his actions but deep down they both knew she loved it.
They suddenly bump into Natalie and Jimin whom were simply out on a date together. "Oh hyung!" Jungkook called out as Natalie and Jimin smiled at them. "Hey guys!" Teresa greeted cheerfully. The girls conversed happily as Natalie playfully roasted Teresa whom immediately fired back. "Hm, I guess you didn't tell Jimin about how our fencing captain tried to flirt with you~?" Teresa fired playfully as Natalie groaned despite with a smile on her face.
"Aish, that guy tried to put his moves on Natalie?" Jimin said with jokingly annoyed tone as they all chuckled. "Yeah and Natalie..." Teresa trailed off as Natalie smacks Teresa with a blushing face. "Aigoo jagi, I trust you." Jimin said and laughed heartily as he looped her arm around his.
Jungkook smiled at the two and subtly pulled Teresa closer. "When are you guys finally just go and tie the knot?" Jungkook nagged playfully as Jimin and Natalie blushed heavily. "Ah we'll get married when we're ready." Jimin defended before pulling Natalie with him to a small cafe.
"Bye!" They called out as Jungkook and Teresa continued on their path. "Jagi, how's your work going?" Jungkook questioned affectionately as Teresa snuggled against his shoulder. "It's going alright, nothing really special and it's quite tedious." Teresa ranted as Jungkook smiled widely and nodded along to her words.
He gazed at her, feeling his heart physically beat erratically at how beautiful his wife is and how passionate she is about work. Her smile always managed to brighten his smile whenever he was too stressed out or just felt down. 'Ahg, she means everything to me. My other half, my true love and my home.'
J-hope and Sofia were finally meeting her whole family as he fidgeted in his seat, hoping he wasn't being too obvious about how nervous he was. "So Hoseok, what do you love most about our daughter, Sofia?" Her mother asked as J-hope's eyes shot up at the sudden mention of his name. "Ah, I love her..." He paused for a few seconds before the answer dawned on him. "Because she's her. I guess I can't really explain why but I fell for the Sofia that fawned over me and certainly couldn't hide it when we first met."
He answered which earned him chuckles and smiles from all around as Sofia gingerly rested her hand on top of his. "Good answer. We certainly didn't make a mistake handing her over to you, who can love her and care for her in the way she deserves." Her father said with a smile as J-hope nodded excitedly. "Ah thank you, thank you!"
Joanna finally came back to her apartment, landing on the couch as soon she came through the door. She didn't expect that Taehyung was there as she muttered to herself. "I can't stay with Taehyung after what I've done. I've made my decision."
At that very moment, Taehyung felt his heart drop as he stepped out with teary eyes. "Jagi, what are you talking about?"
