Chapter 4: Snoggletog

A/N: Gift of the Night Fury was on my mind and I hope you guys like this fluffy, yet sweet chapter.

(Normal pov)

Once again, Snoggletog had arrived and the people of Scandinavia were eager to celebrate the annual holiday that marked the end of another year. For the people of Berk, they realized that because of Stoick's sacrifice and Hiccup's actions in leading the Viking people against Drago's army, they could celebrate yet another Snoggletog and look to the future with hope and fruition.

The Hairy Hooligans were all up and about, decorating their home which was now fully restored, with Snoggletog decorations. And of course, this time of the year also meant the dragons needed to leave to their nesting ground and have their babies. It was never easy to say goodbye to their dragons, but the Hairy Hooligans knew that they'd return later that evening. And so, after saying farewells and giving affection to their dragons, the Hairy Hooligans watched as their dragons awaited their alpha to lead the way.

"Toothless! Would you hold still?" Hiccup laughed out as he was in the process of attaching yet another prosthetic tail fin for the Night Fury, just like the one he had made for Toothless during their first Snoggletog. Now able to fly on his own, Toothless pranced excitedly and pressed his head against Hiccup's belly while warbling out excitedly. "Your welcome, bud. It's the least I can do," The Hooligan chief then unfastened the saddle on the Night Fury and smiled. "Now get going, King of Dragons. Lead the others to the nesting grounds." Nodding, Toothless let out a roar to the other dragons and soon all of them were in the air and departed for the time being. Once the dragons were out of sight, Hiccup pursed his lips and then felt a hand on his shoulder.

"About that time of the year again, eh?"

Chuckling lightly, Hiccup turned to Gobber and nodded. "I just... I don't know, wish that Toothless wasn't alone," he then shrugged. "Five years since we get to watch our dragons leave to have babies, and every time Toothless comes back without a mate. I'm afraid he really is the last Night Fury."

"Maybe the gods will bless your dragon this year, who knows," Gobber said with a shrug. "Besides, you shouldn't feel too bad lad, we all know dragons as rare as Toothless were hunted to the brink of extinction by the likes of Viggo Grimborn or anyone else in the Dragon Hunter trade. It's unfortunate, but Toothless has you. True, you aren't his mate, but you are bonded and as long as that's the case, he will never be alone."

Smiling at his blacksmith mentor, Hiccup patted Gobber's back. "You're right," once more looking to the sky, the Hooligan chief smiled lightly. "I just hope that one day, the gods will bless Toothless with a mate." Letting out a sigh, Hiccup then turned to Gobber and raised a questioning eyebrow. "How are decorations coming along?"

"Ha! The tree is all but done, everybody has finished decorating their huts, and we're about to begin preparing our feast," the old blacksmith then gave the young chief a grin. "And when do you plan on marrying Astrid, eh? You two have been betrothed since the days of Dragons Edge, and yet you've yet to seal the deal. Have you two set a day to enter a proper Viking marriage yet?"

"We have actually," Hiccup replied with a smile. "The week after Snoggletog. That should give our people more than enough time to take down the holiday tree, decorations, and to sleep off the food and ale they've devoured."

"Aye, a good plan, chief. I'm looking forward to seeing you finally marrying off that spitfire," Gobber then looked to the massive statue of Stoick by the Great Hall. "If Stoick were still among us, you know who thrilled he would be to have you not only taking your rightful place as chief but being married to one of our best shield maidens."

Nodding, Hiccup looked to his father's statue and smiled lightly. "It was a subject he'd talk about frequently while he was still alive," the young chief stated. "But I know he'll witness me taking Astrid as my wife in Odin's halls along with the rest of the Æsir in Valhalla."

"Aye, he'll be feasting, drinking, and celebrating that his son has risen to become one of the greatest Vikings our world has ever produced," placing a hand on the young man's shoulder, Gobber gave him his signature grin. "You've become a legend among us and throughout all of Scandinavia; your fame and reputation rivaling many of notorious Vikings throughout the generations."

Hiccup snorted lightly. "All I want is to ensure Berk thrives and prospers once more, honor my father's legacy, and prepare to be a husband," the young chief then spotted Astrid and his friends gathered together and decided to join them. "Until next time Gobber, stay out of trouble, alright?"

"Me? Getting into trouble? Please, you mistake me for Snotlout!"

The two men laughed and shared a hug before saying farewell for the time being. Hiccup then noted Astrid held a shield in her hand, and on the shield was a vase and four mugs. That's when the young chief realized what Astrid was carrying and he suddenly felt sick to his stomach, she was offering everybody her infamous Yaknog. Taking a deep breath, Hiccup prepared himself and his stomach for the horrendous beverage that Astrid insisted on making every Snoggletog. He loved everything about Astrid, but her skills in the kitchen as well as preparing beverages was laughable, Hiccup was determined to show his soon-to-be wife how to prepare food and drinks that wouldn't kill someone.

"No! Astrid, I love you, don't get me wrong. But I refuse to drink that!"

"The smell alone is worse than anything that's entered my nose! And believe me, I've smelled some pretty vile things in my lifetime."

Astrid frowned at both Ruffnut and Tuffnut in disappointment. "You two didn't even get the chance to even try Yaknog the first time I made it—"

"And for good reason!" Tuffnut said firmly. "I'm sorry Astrid, but until you find a way to rectify that recipe, Yaknog will never enter my mouth as long as I'm still breathing."

"What's this I hear about Yaknog?"

The gang of dragon riders turned to see Eret approaching, his face lit with curiosity. Astrid beamed at the sight of the Sami dragon rider and presented her beverage to him. "Happy Snoggletog Eret! Since this is your first time celebrating our annual winter holiday with Vikings, I thought you'd like to try out some of my Yaknog," she then extended the shield caring her beverage to the newest member of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. "Give it a try! Maybe you'll like it." Eret eyed the drink and then looked to the dragon riders around her, all of them gave him looks that said "don't drink it," but Eret ignored them and then looked back to Astrid with a smile.

"Sure, why not. It looks... interesting," he took one of the mugs of Yaknog and lifted it up. "Skål." He then took a drink of it and gagged, nearly spitting it out but held the beverage in his mouth, and then swallowed it with haste. Coughing, Eret regained himself and then looked to Astrid with a smile and nodded. "It's good, I love it!" A lie of course, but he didn't want to hurt his friend's feelings.

"Would you like some more?"

"No!" Eret replied immediately before adding. "I... I don't want to deprive everyone the chance to have a taste."

Snotlout turned green. "Not a chance!" He then continued. "My body is a temple of perfection and I don't want to mire my beautiful stomach with that... vile drink!" Astrid turned to Snotlout with a murderous glare, causing the stocky man to let out a very "manly" screech and hide behind Fishlegs, causing Ruffnut and Tuffnut to laugh out loud.

Turning to Hiccup, the blond shield maiden beamed brighter than the sun. "Happy Snoggletog, babe!" She approached and pecked his lips and then offered him some of her beverage. "Care for some Yaknog?"

"Hehe, uh, actually, I was hoping maybe I can help you... improve your recipe."

"Huh? What's wrong with it?"

"Well... everything," Hiccup answered truthfully. "How did you make Yaknog? What ingredients did you use?"

"I used eggs, cabbage, yak milk, and... I honestly forgot what the last ingredient I used was, so I just substituted it with kelp."

Everyone gathered had their mouths agape in shock and disgust, Snotlout turned around and then hurled violently on the snow before he barked out in disgust. "And you want us to drink that?!! What's wrong with you?!" When Astrid turned to beat Snotlout into a pulp, Hiccup grabbed her by her abdomen and pulled her close while murmuring soothing words into her ear, and also nuzzling his face against the side of hers until she all but melted in his arms.

"Maybe we can help you improve your recipe, Milady," Hiccup suggested. "You mean well, and that's good. But it'll do nobody any good if you kill them with that vile drink of yours. What do you say? How about we help you make a better Yaknog, one that doesn't kill everyone and sends them to Valhalla prematurely?" Astrid let out a heavy sigh and then looked to her friends, she could see them pleading at her to accept Hiccup's offer. It hurt her that her friends and people didn't enjoy her original recipe, but if Hiccup and her friends helped her improve it, then maybe Yaknog could truly be one of the best things about Snoggletog.

"Alright," Astrid said. "Let's make Yaknog better."

"Trust me, you won't regret this," Hiccup assured her while pressing a kiss to her cheek. "But before we do this, have you actually given your drink a taste test?"

"No, I haven't."

"Whenever you're preparing food or a beverage like this, you need to give it a taste test and make sure it's edible, Milady," Hiccup laughed lightly. "Do me a favor, give your drink a taste and see for yourself why everybody here isn't fond of it."

Shrugging, Astrid took one of her mugs of Yaknog and took a drink. Immediately she spat it out and gagged in disgust. "Oh, my gods! I had no idea it was that bad!" She then looked to her friends and gave them sheepish looks. "I'm sorry guys."

"Well, at least you now see why we hate it so much," Snotlout said while shivering in disgust. "Let's hope this new batch isn't as bad as the first."

"Always so dramatic, aren't you Snotlout?" Fishlegs rolled his eyes before looking to Astrid with a smile. "We'll make sure this new and improved Yaknog isn't as bad. Won't we guys?"

"You bet we will!" Tuffnut said. "My nose may finally have a respite and not have to bear the horrid stench of that batch of Yaknog."

"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's get started, eh?" Eret suggested, causing everyone to hum in agreement and they all got to work on helping Astrid make a new and better batch of Yaknog.

Valka strolled through the village and smiled at the sight of children giggling while they built snowmen or dragons, or watching them having rather intense snowball fights. Seeing the future generation of Hairy Hooligans playing together made Valka feel regret that she missed witnessing her son grow up from boyhood into manhood. But, if she had not been taken by Cloudjumper, then she would most likely not have developed feelings for Hiccup, and Valka was glad that wasn't the case; she was taken for a reason and she wouldn't change a thing. Several of the villagers waved in greetings at Valka as they were decorating their huts, the elder Haddock returned her fellow Hooligans greetings with warm smiles. However, there were two certain Hooligans that Valka was looking for and they were nowhere to be seen at the moment.

That is until Valka heard the sounds of laughter and playful banter filling her ears in a nearby hut. With her curiosity piqued, Valka opened the door to the hut and found Hiccup, Astrid, and the other young dragon riders making a beverage of some kind while exchanging playful words and jokes. Looking up to see his mother standing at the door, Hiccup beamed and approached.

"Happy Snoggletog, Mom!" He then gave her a quick hug and then gestured to the scene before her. "Don't mind us, we're all just helping Astrid make a better batch of Yaknog this year."

"Yaknog?"

"Whatever you do, do not try the first batch, Aunt Valka," Snotlout pleaded. "Trust me, if the taste won't kill you, your stomach will feel like it's being dumped in Gronckle lava." The stocky Jorgenson yelped when Astrid smacked the back of his head.

"Forgive me for interrupting, but I was hoping we can spend some quality time together before the holiday celebration begins later on this evening," Valka said to Hiccup.

"You're welcome to join us," he smiled before looking to his friends and betrothed. "Are you guys fine with my mother joining us?"

"Not at all, maybe she has some skills in the kitchen," Eret shrugged. "Correct me if I'm wrong Valka."

Laughing lightly, the older woman flushed. "According to Gobber, my meatballs could kill more beasts than a battle-axe," she then reassured the young Vikings. "But that doesn't mean I'm clueless in the kitchen. There are just certain dishes that I just can't seem to pull off."

"Lucky for you, we're making a holiday beverage that won't make any of us sick to our stomachs or kill us prematurely," Fishlegs reassured with a smile. "I'd be happy if you joined us. Besides, I'd love to hear of your adventures as a "feral dragon lady" and the different dragons you've seen for the past two decades."

Smiling at Fishleg's eagerness, Valka then nodded. "Very well," she then continued with a smirk. "Are you sure you can handle what I'm about to tell you? According to Hiccup, your desire to learn about dragons leads to you being... hyper excited."

"Knowing Fishface here, his head will probably erupt like a volcano—"

Nudging Snotlout in the gut with his elbow, Fishlegs smirked when the stocky Jorgenson clutched his stomach and fell to his knees. Everybody else gathered chuckled as well, and soon the group of dragon riders continued making Yaknok while talking about their many adventures over the years and all the species of dragons they had encountered as well. Some time had passed and after much time playing with ingredients, Hiccup decided that he was going to taste the batch Astrid had made, everybody held their breath as their chief tasted his soon-to-be wife's new batch of Yaknog. After taking a drink, Hiccup hummed in both contentment and relief that the beverage was not edible for consumption.

"Well? What do you think?"

Turning to a nervous-looking Astrid, the young chief gave her a warm smile and raised his mug. "Now this is a drink worth serving," he then inquired. "What did you use this time?" All eyes turned to the speechless Astrid, she regained herself and answered Hiccup with a sheepish smile.

"Well, I used maple spice, grounded nutmeg as well as grounded ginger, allspice, and vanilla spice," Astrid then shrugged. "Most of these ingredients were purchased from traders while you and the rest of Scandinavia were at war with Drago's army. The maple and vanilla are from far away lands, but I suppose they served their purpose."

"Oh, they have," Hiccup reassured, he then passed the mug in his hands for everyone gathered to taste. "What do you think gang? Is this better tasting, looking, and smelling than the previous batch of Yaknog?" All the dragon riders took a sip and sounds of elation fled their lips, causing Astrid to beam as bright as the sun, making Hiccup glad that her beverage was finally receiving love, rather than dread.

"Oh. My. Thor. This is amazing!" Tuffnut exclaimed with a grin before he offered Ruffnut another sip. "Drink. And let it envelop you like a fur blanket." Ruffnut took another drink and her wide smile made Tuffnut laugh and nod. "Divine, isn't it?"

"I've never tasted anything as sweet as this," Ruffnut sighed happily before turning to Astrid with a grin. "Now this is how you make a beverage, Lady Hofferson, soon-to-be Haddock."

"Yes! One sip of that batch of Yaknog makes me want to bathe in it."

Everyone either cringed or gave Snotlout weird looks for saying such words, but the stocky man ignored them and snatched the mug out of Ruffnut's hands and flashed her a flirty look when she glared at him for taking the mug.

"Well then, I suppose you now know how to make Yaknog properly this time, eh?"

Turning to Eret, Astrid chuckled and nodded in agreement. "I do now," she then blushed in embarrassment. "I guess my pride blinded me from seeing just how awful that first batch of Yaknog was. Sorry for nearly killing you guys with that last batch."

"Water under the bridge, Milady," Hiccup said while gesturing to Snotlout and Ruffnut literally fighting to see who'd get the last drink of the new batch of Yaknog. "Besides, it seems your new batch of Yaknog is worth fighting for." Despite his best efforts, Snotlout was bested by Ruffnut, who drove a knee into his groin and causing him to let out a very "manly" scream and clutch his groin. Everyone laughed at the display, Ruffnut winked at Snotlout, and then drank the last of the new batch of Yaknog and sighed in contentment.

"I agree with Hiccup, that beverage is most certainly worth fighting for," Valka said while placing a hand on Astrid's shoulder. "Perhaps we should share this with the rest of the village."

"Great idea, Mom," Hiccup turned to Astrid and fetched the shield she used to serve her beverage and smirked at her. "Ready to spread some Snoggletog joy?" Smiling at the man she loved, Astrid took the shield and placed the vase full of her newly made Yaknog as well as clean mugs and nodded at Hiccup.

"I'm ready when you are."

Dusk had arrived and the people of Berk had continued to savor the festive activities and celebration that was Snoggletog, not only that, but the whole village praised Astrid's new Yaknog, the children most of all wanted to have several cups, but for the sake of spreading the newly made beverage with everyone, they were only given one cup. Once all the Hairy Hooligans had their fill of Yaknog, the gang of dragon riders excused themselves for the time being so they could spend time with their families. Hiccup and Eret were sharing words, while Astrid and Valka had a moment to talk.

"I take it your original recipe of Yaknog wasn't much in demand?"

Chuckling, Astrid nodded in confirmation. "Had you been here our first Snoggletog after we had made peace with the dragons, you would see how everyone dreaded my original recipe," she then continued chuckling. "You'd think I was willingly spreading the Scourge of Odin." Both women laughed, causing Hiccup to look at them and smile at the sight of both the women he loved interacting with each other.

"Very remarkable women, those two, aren't they?"

Hiccup turned to Eret and nodded. "They are," he agreed wholeheartedly. "I'm blessed to have them in my life." The young chief then smirked and playfully punched Eret's chest. "I noticed several of the single women your age eyeing you. Maybe you'll be fortunate and meet a beautiful, strong Viking woman this year." Laughing at the now flustered Sami dragon rider, Hiccup inquired playfully. "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I make you uncomfortable?"

"No no, you're fine," Eret reassured. "It's just... well, I haven't been able to grow close to a woman in a very long time. Especially since I was under Drago's employ—"

"Hey, that madman and those who follow him have been dispatched to Corpse Hall. They'll never threaten man or dragons ever again," the young chief placed a hand on Eret's broad shoulder and smiled at him. "You're a free man now Eret, you don't have to live in fear of Drago ever again. You can now live your life in peace, find a woman to settle down with, become a skilled dragon rider, and remain as a close confidant to me." A wide smile graced Eret's face, he truly felt safe after a lifetime of living in fear under Drago's employ. He now had a home and a chance to make a better life for himself, all because Hiccup and Astrid entered his life.

"Thank you," Eret exhaled, his tone full of gratitude. "I won't squander this new opportunity to not only write the harm I inflicted on dragons but also be a more humble man than I was when you and Astrid met me back at that obliterated fortress."

"You're getting there," Hiccup winked before looking to Astrid and Valka who were still deep in conversation. "Will I be seeing you later on when we feast with our dragons and their hatchlings tonight?"

"Of course," Eret then smiled. "I wouldn't want to miss my first Snoggletog, now would I?"

"No, you don't," Hiccup winked. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to spend some alone time with my impending wife and mother." Nodding in understanding, Eret took his leave and Hiccup soon approached both Astrid and Valka. He took both women by the hand and led them back to the Haddock hut to spend proper time with them before the Snoggletog feast began and before their dragons and their hatchlings would return.

Once inside the Haddock hut, Hiccup turned to face both gorgeous women and smiled at them before gesturing towards the bench. As the two women sat down, Hiccup quickly made his way up to his room and brought down two gifts that piqued both Astrid and Valka's interests. He then handed each woman their respective gifts and he smiled at them, silently urging them to see what they were. Valka went first, she eyed her gift and immediately realized it was flying armor, she then looked to Hiccup to clarify what else this set of flying armor entailed.

"You seemed to take a definite liking to my glider suit back at the Dragon Sanctuary, so I took the liberty of making one for you too," Hiccup then gave her a hopeful look. "I can teach you how to fly without the aid of a dragon, would that be alright?"

Valka's answering smile made Hiccup feel relieved. "Of course it would," she then turned to Astrid. "Do you have one of these glider suits?"

"I do," Astrid then shrugged. "I just haven't had the time or need to use it. But if you both want to be gliding, I'll gladly join you. Besides, having that suit could help out if ever we're in rescue situations or if our dragons are shot down with arrows dipped in Dragon Root."

"That's the spirit, Milady," he then gestured to her gift. "Go ahead, see what it is."

Chuckling lightly at Hiccup's eager tone, Astrid inspected her gift and gasped as she realized it was a crimson dress along with a very comfortable and soft wolf fur cloak. The dress itself was a modest length, appropriate for formal wear, and it was a gift that Astrid wasn't expecting in all honesty. True, although she was a fierce warrior and dragon rider, she was still a woman and deserved clothing and an outfit suited for a woman of her caliber.

"This... is beautiful," looking up to Hiccup, Astrid raised a questioning eyebrow. "How did you manage this?"

"Gertrud, the seamstress helped with the dress," Hiccup confessed. "I'd say she did a job well done, huh?"

"She did a very good job. I'll have to say thank you, the next time I see her," Astrid agreed, she then gave Hiccup a warm smile. "Thank you, babe."

"Yes, thank you for your gift, Hiccup," Valka said with gratitude. "And Happy Snoggletog."

Approaching the two women, Hiccup pulled them in his arms and sighed happily when they embraced him with all their might. He reveled in the feel of their bodies pressed against his own, how their fluttering hearts beat wildly with love and admiration, and he adored the scent of flowers, smoke, and Midgard that clung to them. "I love you," he whispered to both women. "Other than Toothless and the others here, you two are the pillars of strength that keep me stable. My world will collapse if either one of you is wrested from my arms." His confession of love caused both Astrid and Valka to pull Hiccup closer and murmur reassuring words in his ears.

"Wherever you go, I go," Astrid said firmly. "I'm with you, babe. In Midgard and Valhalla."

"As am I," Valka purred. "I'll stay with you until the end of my days. No matter what."

"Thank you," Hiccup kissed each woman on their foreheads and held them close. "I know that making this work with the three of us will be fraught with challenges. But I want to face them all with both of you by my side." Nothing more needed to be said, the three dragon riders held each other close and savored the peace and quiet for the time being. That is until Hiccup began chuckling lightly, causing both women to give him questioning looks.

"And what're you laughing at?"

Looking to Astrid, the young chief smirked and gestured above them, causing both women to look up and see mistletoe handing from one of the roof rafters.

"If we want to make this work, you're both going to have to learn to be comfortable with each other too."

A blush graced Astrid's face, she knew that not only would Hiccup want to spend equal time with her and Valka, but he'd also want the two of them to be intimately acquainted as well.

Deciding to break the ice, Valka turned to Astrid and gently pinched her chin, turning her face so that both women were looking into each other's eyes. Giving the blond shield maiden a warm, reassuring smile to calm her racing nerves, Valka then leaned in and pressed her lips against Astrid's. Inhaling sharply, Astrid was dead still, this was the first time she's kissed a woman. Although she was still unsure of this, Valka's lips felt... good against her own. Astrid was never one to back away from a challenge or to try new things, this was no different. She would be lying if she said she didn't find Valka attractive, the woman was gorgeous. Not only was she physically stunning, but her incredible personality, tactile nature, and sympathy towards dragons was just as appealing as her looks. It's no wonder why Hiccup fell in love with this woman.

The shield maiden's hands soon found themselves on the older woman's hips, bringing her closer as Astrid soon returned Valka's kiss. Hiccup watched with bated breath and dilated eyes, he dared not even breathe in fear of shattering this moment. Eventually, both women withdrew and after taking deep breaths, they shared a smile and then saw how dazed Hiccup was.

"You alright, babe?" Astrid smirked teasingly.

"F-Fine," Hiccup reassured. "That... was a sight to behold."

"Well then, I suppose it's a sight you'll have to get used to," Valka purred before turning back to Astrid. "Because I quite enjoy kissing Astrid." The older woman cupped the blond's face and kissed her once more, causing Astrid to moan lightly and return her kiss. Hiccup then sat behind his mother and embraced her from behind, causing her to break away from Astrid to turn and look at Hiccup over her shoulder. The two Haddock's shared a smile and then kiss, causing Astrid's mouth to go dry at the taboo, yet the erotic sight of Hiccup and Valka kissing with shameless passion. Soon enough, Valka found herself sandwiched between the two young Vikings; their hands upon her and their mouths on her neck or mouth. Valka all but surrendered to the wonderful sensations enveloping her as Hiccup trailed feather-like kisses along her neck while also massaging her breasts through her clothes and Astrid kissing her deeper while her hands began to caress her thighs.

"Feel good, Mom? Being in the middle?"

Valka moaned at the tone of Hiccup's tone, husky and dripping with love and desire as he continued kneading her breasts and then tugged the lobe of her ear with his teeth, drawing a sharp gasp from Valka's mouth. Astrid too was just as breathless at the tone of Hiccup's voice, she withdrew for but a moment to see Hiccup drag his mouth along Valka's neck and pull her back flush to his chest. The older woman reclined her head back and Hiccup turned her head so the two Haddock dragon riders could kiss. After regaining her breath, Astrid soon joined in once more and pressed herself against Valka's front and began kissing along the older woman's neck, leaving Valka a writhing, moaning mess.

A series of knocks on the door interrupted the trio's intimate moment, causing Hiccup to growl out in annoyance as he ceased his loving assault on Valka. He took a moment for his erection to fade and for both women to regain their calm composure before going to answer the door. On the other side was Gobber, the blacksmith smiled and informed him that the dragons and their hatchlings had returned. Not needing to be told twice, the trio made their way outside the Haddock hut to be greeted at the sight of Berk's dragons and their hatchlings coming to greet the Hooligan Vikings. Seeing his people reunited with their dragons and meeting the hatchlings never failed to make Hiccup smile, it was always a joyous occasion to witness. The familiar whistles of a Night Fury filled Hiccup's ear, causing the young chief to look up and see Toothless touch down on the ground.

"Hey, bud! Good to see—"

Toothless looked to the sky and out of the now dark skies came another Night Fury, causing everyone gathered to gasp in both shock and awe. The Night Fury by Toothless was smaller, sleeker, and clearly a female.

"Oh, my gods! A-Another Night Fury!" He exhaled in joy and disbelief. "Bud, you're not the last of your kind!" This now stated fact made Toothless roar out in happiness as he bounded over to Hiccup and pressed his snout into the young chief's belly. Laughing at his friend's excitement, the Pride of Berk turned to the wild Night Fury and held a hand out to her. "It's alright, none of us will hurt you, I promise." Slowly approaching Berk's chief, the wild dragon took several whiffs of Hiccup's palm before ultimately pressing her snout against his palm, causing Hiccup to let out a disbelieving laugh.

"This changes everything."

"Yes, it does, son," Valka smiled as she too extended a hand out for the female Night Fury. "I was quite certain all the Night Fury's were all but extinct."

"That's because they were," Eret said. "And the man who killed off the Night Fury's is still out there. Though it's fantastic that Toothless no longer is the last of his kind, if word spreads that more Night Fury's live, then Grimmel the Grisly will come for them."

"If that dragon poacher is stupid enough to come here, we'll deal with him," Hiccup reassured Eret before turning to his people and the women he loved. "For now, let's go to the Great Hall and celebrate the end of this year with our loved ones and dragons!" The cheers and roars of agreement lifted Hiccup's spirits and as the Hairy Hooligans made their way to the Great Hall to feast, Berk's chief couldn't help but wonder whether or not this Grimmel the Grisly would come for Toothless and his newly found mate.

A problem for another day.

For now, Hiccup would celebrate Snoggletog with his friends, people, dragon, and the women he loved by his side. The future of Berk and the Haddock bloodline was uncertain, but as long as Hiccup had both Astrid and Valka by his side, he knew that he could overcome any challenge thrown his way.
