In this chapter, I will update all the unfamiliar words.

Prologue

Harmonica

The harmonica, also known as a mouth organ, is a free reed wind instrument used worldwide in many musical genres, notably in blues, American folk music, classical music, jazz, country, and rock and roll. A harmonica is played by using the mouth to direct air into or out of holes along a mouthpiece.

One - Part A

Oriental Furniture

It is a type of furniture that originated in the continent of Asia. Sometimes people also think of Asian furniture as a style of furniture that has Asian accents. Southeast Asian furniture are usually dark brown in color with a lot of Hindu-influence carving. Some may have Polynesian accents such as those from eastern parts of Indonesia.

Bungalow

A bungalow is a type of building, originally developed in the Bengal region in South Asia. The term originated in India, deriving from the Hindi word "बंगला" (baṅgala), meaning "Bengali" and used elliptically for a "house in the Bengal style". This Asian architectural form and design originated in the countryside of Bengal region in South Asia. Such houses were traditionally small, of one story and detached, and had a wide veranda.

Mahanidhi

The word literally means "Great treasure house". The history of the mansion is closely knit with the Agnihotri family and its secrets. So, the name was an appropriate choice.

The tradition of naming houses orginated in Britain where they named castles and manors.

Cantilevered

A platform or roof supported only on one side. The other side hangs in the air.

Ganesha

Ganesha is a Hindu God who is worshipped first in all Hindu prayers. In India, people often place his idol in the entrance to ward off negativity and welcome positive vibes into their homes.

Ma-Saab

A variant of memsahib meaning Madam. The female owner of the house is addressed as such. It also applies to socialoccasions where the social status of the female person is much higher than the addressee.

Plural form of Aasha which means Hope.

Verandah

A verandah (from Bengali baranda) is a roofed, open-air gallery or porch. A veranda is often partly enclosed by a railingand frequently extends across the front and sides of the structure.
Pronounced as vuh-ran-duh

Teak wood

Teak (pronounced as teek) wood has a leather-like smell when it is freshly milled. It is particularly valued for its durability and water resistance, and is used for boat building, exterior construction, veneer, furniture, carving, turnings, and other small wood projects.

Saharanpur

Saharanpur (pronounced as suh-hahr-uh n-poo r) is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. Saharanpur is known for its wood carving cottage industry as well as a thriving market for local agricultural produce, including basmati rice and mangoes. A variety of industrial enterprises are located here including textiles, sugar, paper and cigarette factories.

Frequency Illusion

Frequency illusion, or the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, is a cognitive bias which describes a curious psychological fact: after learning some bit of new information we start noticing it everywhere else.

Opportunity Cost

The value (not a benefit) of the choice in terms of the best alternative while making a decision.

Corporate Governance

Corporate governance is the system of rules, practices and processes by which a firm is directed and controlled. Corporate governance essentially involves balancing the interests of a company's many stakeholders, such as shareholders, management, customers, suppliers, financiers, government and the community.

Property valuation

Real estate appraisal, property valuation or land valuation is the process of developing an opinion of value, for real property (usually market value).

Real estate transactions often require appraisals because they occur infrequently and every property is unique(especially their condition, a key factor in valuation), unlike corporate stocks, which are traded daily and are identical.

The location also plays a key role in valuation. However, since property cannot change location, it is often the upgrades or improvements to the home that can change its value.

Appraisal reports form the basis for mortgage loans, settling estates and divorces, taxation, and so on. Sometimes an appraisal report is used to establish a sale price for a property.

Three - Part A

Minimalist

The term minimalism is used to describe a trend in design and architecture, wherein the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalist architectural designers focus on the connection between two perfect planes, elegant lighting, and the void spaces left by the removal of three-dimensional shapes in an architectural design.

Mahogany

Mahogany, a kind of wood, has a straight, fine, and even grain, and is relatively free of voids and pockets. Its reddish-brown color darkens over time, and displays a reddish sheen when polished. It has excellent workability, and is very durable. Historically, the tree's girth allowed for wide boards from traditional mahogany species. These properties make it a favorable wood for crafting cabinets and furniture.

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds consist of slats of stiffened fabric, plastic, or metal hanging by one end from a track; like the horizontal versions, the slats can be rotated 90 degrees to allow light to pass through or to fold up on one side of a door or window.

Salwar Kameez

Salwar kameez is a traditional outfit originating in the Indian subcontinent. It is a generic term used to describe different styles of dress. The salwar (baggy trousers) and the kameez (long shirt) are two garments which are combined to form the salwar kameez.

It is the national dress of Pakistan, and commonly worn throughout the Indian subcontinent.

Patent

A patent is a set of exclusive rights granted by a sovereign state or intergovernmental organization to an inventor or assignee for a limited period of time in exchange for detailed public disclosure of an invention. An invention is a solution to a specific technological problem and is a product or a process. Patents are a form of intellectual property.

Retainer

A retainer agreement is a work for hire contract. It falls between a one-off contract and permanent employment, which may be full-time or part-time. Its distinguishing feature is that the client or customer pays in advance for professional work to be specified later. The purpose of a retainer fee is to ensure payment for future services or work to be rendered.
The retainer agreement may serve as the basis of authority for a legal advocate. It may limit a lawyer's authority to specific tasks or services, as opposed to providing authority for general purposes.

Keylogger

Keystroke logging often referred to as keylogging or keyboard capturing, is the action of recording (logging) the keys struck on a keyboard, typically covertly, so that the person using the keyboard is unaware that their actions are being monitored. Data can then be retrieved by the person operating the logging program. A keylogger can be either software or hardware.

 Patent troll

In international law and business, patent trolling or patent hoardingis a categorical or pejorative term applied to a person or company that attempts to enforce patent rights against accused infringers far beyond the patent's actual value or contribution to the prior art, often through hardball legal tactics. Patent trolls often do not manufacture products or supply services based upon the patents in question. 

Alias

A pseudonym or alias is a name that a person or group assumes for a particular purpose, which can differ from their first or true name. Pseudonyms are "part-time" names, used only in certain contexts – usually adopted to hide an individual's real identity, as with writers' pen names, graffiti artists' tags, resistance fighters' or and computer hackers' handles. Actors, musicians, and other performers sometimes use stage names, for example, to mask their ethnic backgrounds.
