Chapter Twenty Two - "You Believe Me."

Avery's P.O.V

"And here I thought you would push me away again." Logan mumbles as he hugs me back and I smile. I can't help but hear his heart race as I press my ear to his chest, my eyes slipping shut.

"I didnt want to do that." I mumble and Logan chuckles.

"By how tight your hugging me, I know." Logan says and I look up at him, my eyes opening as the smile stays on my lips. Logan closes the door behind him and walks over to my bed, laying down.

"Wait, whats the time?" I ask Logan and he shrugs.

"All I know is that it's past midnight." Logan says and I nod slowly before walking over to him, laying down next to him. I tangle my legs with his and rest my head on his chest.

"Do you hate me?" I ask, not bothering to look up at Logan. Logan sighs and runs his hand through my hair.

"I could never hate you." Logan says and I hold onto his hand, enjoying the warmth that he is giving me. I let out a sigh and rub my thumb against his.

"Do you hate me?" Logan asks and I bite my lip.

"Well, I should hate you. I mean, look at all the stuff you put me through. First, I found out that Katie was pregnant with your child after I told you I loved you. Second, you appear back in my life, asking for a second chance like you did nothing to me in the first place and now you won't tell me about Drew. God, I hate that Katie's DNA is in that kid but I have a heart and when I see that... I don't know what to think." I mumble, chewing on my lip again. Logan is now rubbing his thumb across my hand and I can't help but watch it.

"I know but like I said before, I never meant to hurt you in the first place. I love you too damn much to even see you walk away from me but what could I do? I can't go back and change that. I wanted and still want to be with you and thats why I wanted a second chance. I want you back in my life and I will stop at nothing to do that." Logan says and I feel my heart clench at his words.

He loves you Avery and you've been treating him like shit, my brain says and I mentally roll my eyes.

You don't think I know that?

"About Drew, I wanted to tell you but like I said, I couldn't before. I had to wait for the perfect time but... I don't want you hating me again so I'll just tell you now." Logan says and I look up at him to see his eyes closed shut.

"Logan, you don't have to tell me now..." I trail off and Logan opens his eyes and shakes his head.

"I've caused you too much pain about this. I feel like I should tell you." Logan says and I nod slowly, watching as he sits up, resting his back against the headboard. I do the same and grab his hand again, squeezing it reassuringly.

"The reason I asked you to take care of Drew is because I wanted full custody of Drew. Katie and her parents do nothing to help him when he is angry or upset so I take him with me to my place sometimes since he likes it there. I don't usually spend a lot of time with Drew and since I don't let Katie spend time with him on her own, I leave him with mom. I know how hard it is for her to deal with him when he only wants his parents but I promised her that it won't be for long. Katie's parents keep saying that if I keep trying to get full custody of Drew, they are going to get a lawyer and make me not see Drew at all which is bullshit. I just want to throw a brick at their heads to shut them up." Logan scoffs and I smile.

He cares so much about Drew.

"Anyway, since Katie and I aren't together, I take Drew with me a lot because when it's only Drew and Katie, it doesn't end well. He comes home with bruises, scratches and scars and I know it's Katie. That's another reason why I want full custody of Drew. When I explained how Katie acts with Drew to her parents, their didn't believe me. They actually put it back on me since I'm a 'bad influence' on him because I drink and do all that shit. When I asked Katie about what Drew and her do when they alone, she said that he sleeps. All he does is sleep. No the fuck he doesn't!" Logan growls and my eyes narrow at him.

"Katie is the one abusing Drew?" I ask and Logan looks at me, his jaw clenching.

"Thats what I'm thinking. Unless it's her parents but aside from that, I swear it's Katie. When it's the three of us, she is all happy and nice but when it's only them two, I know something is going on in that house and it just pisses me off that no one believes me." Logan sighs and I smile at him.

"I believe you. I wouldn't be suprised if Katie only took advantage of you to get back at me for whatever I did." I say and Logan grins at me.

"You do believe me." Logan says and I furrow my brows in confusion.

"I just said that." I say and Logan shakes his head, the grin still on his face.

"You believe me about the whole 'Katie taking advantage of me' thing. You believe me." Logan says and when I remember my words from before I immediately sigh.

"It slipped-"

"Ah, ah, ah, don't pull that one on me. You do believe me which means you have nothing to be angry at me for." Logan says, his grin turning into a smile and I roll my eyes playfully, letting my own smile appear on my face.

"I guess I do believe you-" Logan cuts me off by pressing his lips on mine and I can't help but lean into the kiss. Logan lifts me up and makes me straddle him. Logan's hands go to my back as he slides his hands up my shirt. I can't help but grind against him when he bites my lip, making me let out a soft moan.

"Logan..." I breathe out as Logan's lips go to my neck, sucking on it. I bite my lip and tug at his shirt. Logan looks at me before smirking and he quickly takes off his shirt and connects his lips back on my neck.

"Never... hurt me... again." I breathe out and Logan looks at me before resting his forehead on mine.

"I don't plan to."

YAY, THEY ARE TRYING AGAIN! I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M SO HAPPY BUT OH MY GOD, AVERY AND LOGAN ARE BACK BITCHES! How is Avery's dad going to react? What about Joshua? What do you think of Katie now? What will happen next!
