Chapter Twenty Five - "She Is Only A Friend To Me."

Avery's P.O.V

"Well, thank you for letting me stay." Logan says to Claire and she just rolls her eyes.

"Whatever." Claire says and I hug her, resting my head on her shoulder.

"Make sure you end Henry's birthday with a bang." I whisper and Claire let's go off me, a smirk on her lips.

"Oh I will definitely be doing that." Claire says and I chuckle and shake my head.

"Bad, very bad." I say and Claire shrugs. Logan hands River to me and walks down the pathway towards his car. He raises his eyebrow at me in question and I roll my eyes, saying my goodbyes to Claire.

"So am I walking home or is your boyfriend going to be a nice person and give me a ride?" Ryan asks as he walks down the pathway with me.

"You won't be walking home." I reassure him and Ryan shrugs as we reach Logan's car. I give River to Logan as he puts her in her baby seat and when he finishes, I clear my throat.

"Logan, Ryan is coming with us." I say and Logan raises his eyebrow at me.

"Says who?"

"Me." I say sternly and Logan rolls his eyes.

"Well, I don't approve. I don't want one of my cousin's dirty men in my car." Logan says, sending Ryan a glare and Ryan just rolls his eyes.

"Those days are over." Ryan says and Logan raises his eyebrow at him.

"Oh really? So why do you hang out with Avery so much?" Logan asks and I let out a sigh.

"Logan-"

"No, I want to hear this." Logan says and Ryan grabs the bridge of his nose in annoyance.

"She is only a friend to me."

"She is only a friend to me." Logan mocks, rolling his eyes and I slap his arm.

"Just give him a ride." I say and Logan points a finger at Ryan.

"I have my eyes on you." Logan says and I begin to push Logan over to his seat.

"Stop causing trouble and just breathe." I say before getting into my seat in the front. Ryan sits in the back next to River and Logan starts the car, giving Ryan one last glare before driving off.

Boys will be boys.

"Oh my mom is home for once." Ryan says, humor clear in his tone. "Later Avery." Ryan says before walking over to his house and I turn around to see Logan leaning against his car.

"Why do you have to be so mean?" I ask Logan and he shrugs.

"I have to keep up my bad boy reputation." Logan says and I let out a laugh.

"Oh please, you lost that the day I tripped you over." I say and Logan raises his eyebrows.

"How?" He asks and I look at my nails, trying to hide my smirk.

"Well, if you were actually a 'bad boy', you would've killed me or at least tried to." I say, looking up at Logan and he rolls his eyes.

"I regret that day now." Logan says and I chuckle, shoving him out of the way so I can get to River.

"Stop complaining." I say as I unbuckle River's seat belt, carrying her sleeping form in my arms. Logan looks down at his daughter, a small smile on his lips.

"So cute." He says, brushing River's hair away from her eyes and I nod.

"She takes after me." I grin and Logan nods.

"That is true but you have to admit, we did make a beautiful human being." Logan says with a small smirk and I roll my eyes.

"As you can see, she has my face and my attitude. The only thing she has of yours is your stupid grin." I say and Logan chuckles.

"Thats not so bad." Logan says and I shake my head.

"You know, for the past three years, she reminded me of you and somehow it drained me even though I lost the feelings." I confess and Logan nods.

"Well, all I know is that you won't be saying that in a week."

"What is that suppose to mean?" I ask and Logan kisses my cheek, taking me by suprise.

"It means that in a week, you will at least feel something for me." Logan says and I look away from his eyes. Logan notices my nervousness and smirks.

"Unless you already feel something..." He says and I roll my eyes after a few seconds of his words circling my head.

"Oh please, I-"

"It's obvious. There is no need to cover up." Logan grins and I let out a groan.

"I'm going now." I say, beginning to walk towards the house and Logan nods.

"Yeah, you better before you blow up blushing." Logan chuckles and I stick my finger up at him and enter the house.

I can't believe I even feel something for that guy.

"Mommy!" River squeals, rushing into my room and attacking me with a hug. I smile and hug her back.

"Hello Riv, whats up?" I say, throwing the sheets off me once River breaks the hug. I set my feet on the ground and grab River's hand as she pulls me out of my room and down the stairs.

"I heard the door bell." River says and I nod, walking up to the door and opening it. I frown when I see Logan standing with Drew beside him.

"Oh no, not him again." River says, hiding behind me leg and I let out a smile and pat River's head.

"Get used to it, baby." I say with a chuckle and when Drew walks in and walks behind me to see River, she begins to run around the house.

"So, what do you want?" I ask, looking back up at Logan and he looks behind me as if he is looking for someone.

"Who is home?" He asks and all of a sudden, I hear Aunty Heather speak from the stairs, making me let out a laugh.

"Only me." Aunty Heather says, walking down the stairs and heading towards us. She crosses her arms over her chest and narrows her eyes at the both of us.

"Am I missing anything here?" Aunty Heather asks and I shake my head.

"No." I say and Aunty Heather looks at Logan with and grin.

"Then explain why you two are all cool now." Aunty Heather says and I roll my eyes.

"Later," I say and I turn my attention to Logan. "Why are you here?" I ask again and Logan points at Aunty Heather.

"I came here for a favor. Heather, can you look after Drew? I need to sort out a few things that involve your niece and a few other people." Logan says and Aunty Heather nods.

"Yeah, that's fine. Avery's parents aren't coming home till later so..." Aunty Heather trails off and Logan nods.

"Thanks, goodbye." Logan says, grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door. Aunty Heather laughs and shuts the door, making me let out out a groan.

"I didn't even get to say a goodbye to River." I say and Logan rolls his eyes and pulls me to his motorbike.

"Shut up and get on. We are going to see Patrick." Logan says, throwing me a helmet and I let out a groan but do what Logan says.

"Your lucky I like the motorbike rides." I say as I get on and Logan let's out a laugh.

"I know, that's why I brought it." Logan throws me a smirk before shutting his shield and I roll my eyes as Logan starts the engine.

He knows me too well.
