Chapter Forty Six - "Avery, He Will Tear My Head Off!"

Avery's P.O.V

I hear the front door slam shut, waking me up from the peaceful sleep I was just having. I hear feet stomp up the stairs as I stir in my bed, remembering that Logan is laying beside me... completely naked might I add.

As I feel Logan's hand move as I move around to face him, I realise that I am also naked, which makes me remember back to all of the fun we had last night.

I'm so hoping Logan picked up his boxers from the living room floor...

"Avery!" Joshua shouts before swinging my door open. I jump in shock, covering my body with the blankets and accidentally covering Logan's face with them too. "We need to talk." He says grumpily, making me raise my eyebrows at him.

"Can you wait twenty minutes? I am freaking na--"

"I think Emma is pregnant."

And at this moment, Logan finally wakes up. And not with a happy look on his face either.

"Okay, I should have told you but you do know how over-protective you are, right?" Emma nervously chuckles and Logan just glares at his baby sister, his eyes dark. Joshua stands beside me cowardly, not knowing what to say in this situation.

"What are the signs?" Logan asks sternly, his voice rough and demanding. Emma looks over at Joshua but Logan quickly snaps. "I asked you, Emma!"

By now, I can see tears forming in her eyes as she stares back at her brother. "I... I..."

"Logan." I say calmly, walking over to Emma and throwing my arm around her shoulders as she begins cry silently. "I think I should talk to her. You know, I am a girl and have been through this stuff before." I say but before Logan can even open his mouth, I add, "That wasn't a question."

Logan huffs and glares at Joshua. "Well, I'm speaking to him then." Logan says and I look over at Joshua to see his eyes widen, shock and fear rushing in his system all at once before looking over at me with pleading eyes.

"Avery, he will tear my head off!"

"Not if he knows what's good for him." I say while looking at Logan who is glaring at Joshua. "Right, Logan?" I catch his attention and he nods quickly before grabbing Joshua by the arm and pulling him out of my room.

I close the door and suggest Emma to sit on my bed. She takes a seat and I do the same, gently smiling at her. "Now that he is gone, tell me everything."

"It was, like, a month ago when Asher decided to drag me to a party with him. I was too upset cause of everything with Joshua since we weren't talking but Asher didn't care. Then, at the party, Asher left me and I saw Joshua, sitting in the kitchen by himself and then we started to talk but moved to one of the bedrooms for more privacy. That's when things escalated and it happened."

My eyebrows raise and Emma quickly speaks again. "I wasn't drunk and neither was he. We were just too caught up in everything to remember protection."

I nod, understanding where she is coming from. I don't say a word and let her continue. "Then at home I was dizzy and couldn't eat. All I did was throw it back up when I tried to eat. Then, I told Joshua and he said that's how you were when you were pregnant. That's why I thought... Well, you know." Emma explains and I sigh, rubbing my forehead.

"Have you taken a pregnancy test?"

"No. I've been too scared to even think about a baby growing inside of me. I mean, I would like a baby but not now! I just finished school! And not to mention but I haven't even got a job or haven't even started looking for one! I am just so overwhelmed and-" Emma is cut off by her own tears that come rushing down her face. I immediately embrace her, knowing that is probably what she needs right now.

"I'm pretty sure I have a test in my drawer. Do you want to go to the bathroom?" I ask and Emma breathes in sharply.

"In a minute... I just really need this hug."

"I still can't believe you had sex with my sister."

"In case you aren't aware, you have had sex with my sister too!"

"But we are older, dumbass."

"And so are we!"

"Can you two please shut up?" I snap at Joshua and Logan. "You two are giving me a headache."

They both go silent as we watch Emma look at her phone. "It's been ten minutes." She says quickly before looking at me. "Would it be done?"

"Look." I say and Emma sighs before reaching out and grabbing the stick. Her eyes widen as a small smile spreads across her face, tears forming in her eyes.

"I'm not pregnant!"

"Oh, thank God." Logan breathes out, walking up to Emma and hugging her tightly.

I look over at Joshua and see him smiling at me. "I'm not going to be a father."

Ever since Joshua was young, he always wanted to impress our parents by doing everything right. He wanted to get his life sorted before even thinking about having a child. And I'm so proud that he wants to do that but next time... He needs to remember to use protection.

"Not yet at least. Give it a few more years then when your life is going on the right track then you can do whatever you want. But remember -- consent.""

"Yes, Ma'am."

"I'm happy to hear that." Dad says with a smile on his face as I walk into the kitchen to help my mom with dinner. I raise my eyebrow at my mom and she smiles at me.

"Jade just told her lawyer about the whole situation with Katie and she is going to trial next month for attempted kidnapping of River and Drew." My mom says and I can't help but smile.

"So they are going to get Katie now, right? And Ryan?"

"According to the officers on the phone, yes." My mom says while she washes her hands.

"Update me as soon as you can about the situation." My father says before hanging up the phone and turning around, a proud smile on his face.

"They have Katie arrested and are going to charge her with attempted kidnapping and the assault of Drew."

A smile spreads across my face as I tie my hair up into a high ponytail.

Finally, everything is heading on the right path.
