Chapter 3

San awoke to a tiny bit of light slipping through the slit in the curtains and his son gone from beside him. He was about to get up and look for him when the door connecting his room to his personal bathroom opened and there stood the five-year-old wrapped in a towel.

"Morning Daddy!" Yongbok grinned. "I took a shower by myself!"

"That's great. Did you brush your teeth as well?"

Yongbok nodded quickly while displaying his tiny teeth to show his father how they "gleamed."

"I'm ready to go to work with you and to see Daddy Woo!" Yongbok exclaimed, jumping around.

"Yongbok, I know you like Wooyoung but remember he has to work. You can't always be with him, alright? Today you will do as you do every weekend. And that is?"

"Staying in the corner if someone is inside your ugly office and if there’s no one then I can play anywhere in that ugly office," Yongbok answered with a sigh.

San gave a playful glare when Yongbok mentioned his office. It wasn’t ugly but it definitely was to a five-year-old who liked a lot of colors.

"Exactly."

Since he had taken a shower at around 3, he just got up to brush his teeth and get dressed, leaving Yongbok to dress himself.

San had a chef cook for them every morning, and on random occasions, and when they went down to eat, their meal awaited them on the kitchen table.  Yongbok eagerly dug into the meal dirtying his hands and face in the process and San sighed at the mess. It didn’t matter how much he tried to get the five-year-old to eat properly because it was never useful.

A snack was packed in a small food box for Yongbok to take to the company in case he got hungry and San took it with him on the way to the vehicle.

"Today we are having different plans," San announced once they hit the highway. "We are going shopping with Wooyoung to get him some suits so I need you to give as little trouble as possible."

Yongbok began bouncing on his seat in glee and frantically nodded his head in understanding.

"Yongbok will be a good boy and not bother Daddy and Daddy Woo!"

"That's great. If you behave well, I might buy you something."

They arrived at the apartment where Wooyoung lived and just in time because the male was just walking out of the building when San put the vehicle in park. San noticed the attractive way the male had dressed and couldn’t help but admit to himself that he looked stunning even though it was simple clothes. He couldn't dwell long on the thought because before he could stop his son, the child had already lowered the back window and stuck out his head.

"YOU LOOK VERY PRETTY TODAY DADDY WOO!" Yongbok hollered, earning a few stares from passing people who just smiled at the child.

Wooyoung turned to the sound in surprise and it was evident in his facial expression that he was shocked to see San awaiting right outside the apartment.

"Oh thank you sweetie and good morning to you," Wooyoung greeted, booping Yongbok's nose with his index finger once he walked closer.

Yongbok giggled in his seat and San smiled at the interaction. He unlocked the doors so Wooyoung could slide into the passenger seat, although with slight difficulty.

"Morning, Mr. Choi."

"Good morning. I decided it would be best to go shopping for suits first thing in the morning so we can avoid the crowds later on," San explained, getting on the highway once again.

Wooyoung couldn’t help but throw side glances at San while he drove. He felt the wrong in his chest while he kept checking out his boss but he couldn’t help it. Choi San was undoubtedly a four-course meal before him and he was a customer on a diet.

It was painful to know that but at this moment, it didn’t matter. At least he would be working with him and spending time with the child.

"Are you married?" Wooyoung asked, a bit uncertain if he was allowed to ask those kinds of questions.

"Nope. Never have been and I'm not sure if I ever will. Haven’t found the right person yet."

Wooyoung hummed in understanding and wondered how Yongbok came around. Was it through a drunken accident? An act of rebellion? An adoption? Wooyoung didn’t think it was adoption because the similarities were huge but who knows how it really happened.

"How about you?" San asked, glancing at Wooyoung for a second.

"Neither. I've never dated anyone before so it’ll be a while before marriage even comes into the picture."

San was slightly surprised by the fact that Wooyoung had never dated anyone but understood that not everyone could find someone easily. Even he knew what that felt like. It wasn’t until Yongbok had turned three that he first dated someone and even then it was a horrible experience and he never wanted to date someone like the person he dated again.

"Well Daddy can marry Daddy Woo so that both of you are married and I can have two daddies," Yongbok piped up, trying to hug Wooyoung from behind the seat.

Wooyoung chuckled, patting Yongbok's hand and San sighed but smiled.

"Sweetie, that won’t be likely," Wooyoung tried explaining. "Your dad and I are very different and us getting married isn’t something that would happen."

San frowned upon hearing Wooyoung's words and wondered what made them so different. Was it only the company position? Or was it that Wooyoung preferred women? Or maybe something entirely different.

Wooyoung thought San frowned at the thought of them getting married and even though he knew it wouldn’t happen, something inside him broke a little. No one would ever want him and he would die a lonely death.

"Bullshit," Yongbok swore. "You can get married."

Wooyoung turned in his seat, shocked at the five-year-olds cursing and raised a brow looking at San for a second.

"Yongbok I told you you aren’t allowed to swear," San scolded.

"You said swearing is nece- nece-"

"Necessary."

"Necessary sometimes and it was nessary right now," Yongbok stated, mispronouncing the word.

"You aren’t old enough to swear yet, sweetie."

Yongbok sat on the edge of his seat and frowned but remained quiet. The topic of marriage dropped at the moment but he knew he wanted Wooyoung to be one of his parents as well and he would do what it takes to at least pretend he had two parents.

"We have arrived," San announced, pulling into the parking lot of a massive store.

Glass windows in the front of the store displayed a variety of suits and several dresses. Wooyoung swallowed a lump in his throat, noticing that one clothing piece was worth more than a month of rent for his apartment.

Wooyoung turned to his boss and looked at him with a pained expression, "I'm sorry but I can’t afford these clothes, Mr. Choi."

San smiled at him and patted his shoulder in reassurance, "It's not a problem. The company is paying for your attire so it's okay."

Wooyoung smiled at the response and turned to look for Yongbok but realized the child was already staring up at him in excitement.

"Is there something wrong, sweetie?" Wooyoung asked, peering down at him.

"Yes! Daddy Woo, you would be so pretty in those dresses!" Yongbok exclaimed, pointing at a dress in the store window. "Buy it and we can play dress up!"

"I won’t be buying dresses today nor any time soon," Wooyoung laughed, ruffling the child’s hair.

The inside of the store was well lit and very spacious. Tons of suits were displayed and only a few dresses were spotted. Wooyoung took in a sharp breath of air knowing the bill would be extremely high at the end of their shopping session and he felt a sense of relief knowing that it was San who was going to pay the bill. He felt a little guilty about the price but San insisted that it was perfectly fine.

Meanwhile, Yongbok was pouting about Wooyoung not buying any dresses and roamed between the aisles running his hands up and down the silks. San examined several different outfits before he selected a style he thought would make Wooyoung look hot before calling over one of the store’s assistants to help with the fitting.

Wooyoung stood on a small elevated platform in a section of the store so the employee could take his measurements and find the same suit in the correct size. He felt as if all eyes were on him as he stood so high up and he wanted to get down to hide but there was hardly anyone in the store and the ones inside were all busy. The only pairs of eyes on him were San's. He didn’t say anything but turned away, his face slightly heating up from the stare he felt going up and down his body.

San didn’t know what he was doing but he felt it necessary to scan his new assistant up and down for whatever reason. Maybe it was just to make sure he knew how he looked. Maybe it was because he was trying to see what kind of outfit would match him. Maybe it was attraction. Who knew but San was certain it wasn’t attraction.

Whatever, he just wanted to scan Wooyoung and he didn’t feel like stopping any time soon.

"Daddy, I need to pee."

Yongbok's voice broke San out of his stare much more earlier than planned and San peered down at his son with a raised brow.

"Urgently? Or can you wait a little bit?"

"I need to go A LOT!"

"I’ll be back shortly," San told Wooyoung with a sigh, grabbing Yongbok's hand and walking out the store to look for a bathroom.

That left Wooyoung alone on the small podium and that made him feel even more aware of the stares that weren’t even on him. Thinking about it, he preferred San's stares much more than any other stares that may have been directed at him. He wasn’t even sure if there was anyone else in the store because he refused to check and end up holding eye contact with someone.

The woman that took his measurements returned with several suits and directed Wooyoung to a small changing room to try them on. It was a tad bit confusing trying to get the pieces on and eventually, he managed but he didn’t even know how. He had to go back to the podium to look at himself in the mirror and he was stunned at himself.

He was absolutely gorgeous.

"Well damn that looks good," San said, arriving back with Yongbok trailing a pace behind him.

Heat traveled onto Wooyoung's ears and he hoped no one would notice it.

"Look!" Yongbok giggled. "Daddy Woo's ears are red!"

Of course Yongbok would notice.

San smiled and motioned for the woman to give him the suits. There were five separate ones and San decided he would be taking them all. Normally he would only get three but Wooyoung looked way too stunning for him to only receive three.

"Wait, all of them?" Wooyoung asked, a bit shocked. "I can’t accept all of them."

"Why not?" San asked, raising a brow. "I want to get all five."

"But it’s too much money."

"And I will pay for it."

Wooyoung didn’t know how to get out of this situation so he left it at that. The weight of accepting too much eating away at him. And the feeling got worse when the total amount rang up to nearly five thousand dollars.

"I don’t know about you, but I’m starving," San said once they were comfortably seated in the vehicle after going to several other places to find shoes and a few accessories. "Lunch is in half an hour and we can stop for early lunch if you’re hungry as well."

In reality, Wooyoung was starving. He hadn’t eaten breakfast but he didn’t want to accept anything more from San. All that money spent on him just to dress nicely and now to accept lunch? It just didn’t sound right.

"I'm sorry but I don’t feel like eating. You can stop and eat and I can just wait for you and Yongbok."

San glanced at Wooyoung but didn’t say anything. Yeah right, not hungry when he could hear the rumbles in the youngers stomach? He wouldn’t comment on it but he thought it was hilarious. It was obvious that Wooyoung was feeling bad about the money spend but San wasn’t going to let him starve. He would at least buy him a salad if he kept insisting no food was necessary.

"No, really, you don’t want anything? A drink? A piece of dessert? A salad? A four-course meal? Anything?"

"Thank you Mr. Choi but I’m perfectly fine. A bottle of water if you insist."

San hummed and decided there was no way he was going to allow Wooyoung to starve on his watch. He could hear the grumbling of the youngers stomach even louder now.

San took out his phone and dialed a number before a voice answered. Wooyoung leaned his head against the window while he listened to San's soothing voice. It was strange, he had only met San the day prior but he already thought that San was attractive. That had never happened before so he was a bit uncertain of how to react to his own emotions. Wooyoung didn’t focus on the words being said but instead, on the vibrations he felt in his chest due to his boss' voice so he never heard the salad that was ordered for him.

Somewhere along the road, Wooyoung managed to fall asleep in the vehicle and it was quite satisfying. Yongbok was tired so he was quiet, San was lost in his thoughts, traffic was surprisingly steady, and so all of that combined managed to make Wooyoung take a nap for nearly an hour.
