Cherry Blossoms: A Safe Word and Its Broken Promise
+....................+
Cherry blossoms. The safe word that had always grounded them in their most intimate moments. But that night was different. No matter how many times she screamed it, there was no reprieve. Jealousy had driven Akira to a breaking point.
Both of them were still buzzed from the party, their desire barely restrained as they stumbled into Akira's house. The door barely shut behind them before clothes started hitting the floor. Miko's thoughts, however, wandered to Ei even as Akira's touch ignited her skin. "Miko~ God, you taste so fucking sweet," Akira groaned against her neck, leaving a trail of marks and kisses. Miko whimpered, biting her finger to stifle her sounds.
They discarded their shoes, hair pins, and sense of the world around them in a hurried trail to the bedroom. Akira pushed Miko onto the bed, climbing on top of her, their kisses urgent and consuming. "A-Akira, please slow down," Miko pleaded, but Akira's fervor only increased, undressing them both with a feverish need. Their bodies pressed together, the heat between them rising.
They broke apart, gasping for air, but Akira's hands were already moving, pulling Miko closer. "Miko, this is what you get for spending more time with that slumbering Archon than your future wife!" Akira's bite on Miko's neck was harsher than usual, leaving a small bruise. It was going to be a long night.

"Mgh..!" Miko whimpered, her voice breaking as she gripped her lovers hair, who was placed in between her legs. Akira was relentless, her nails digging into Miko's thighs, holding them open as she continued.
Miko's body tensed, her climax approaching fast. She threw her head back, a wave of pleasure crashing over her as she screamed Akira's name. Exhausted and unable to match Akira's pace, Miko's eyelids drooped, her body heavy with fatigue. "Mh~.. can we sleep now? I'm all out of energy," she murmured, slipping into unconsciousness.
Akira picked up her head and sat up as she licked her fingers clean, savoring every drop. She giggled softly, planting a gentle kiss on Miko's forehead before pulling the covers over them both, settling in for a restful night.
<———————->
Miko woke to the sound of birds chirping outside her window and the soft snores of her lover beside her. Turning to see Akira still asleep, she sat up, stretching. Flashbacks of the previous night filled her mind, and she sighed, her ears perking up. She grumbled softly, slipping out of bed to dress. As she put on her heels and applied her makeup, she accidentally woke Akira.
"Miko, where are you going, sweetheart?" Akira asked, rubbing her eyes. Miko's fur bristled, a shiver running up her spine.
"Ah, my love, I'm going to the publishing house. I have some new writings to review before they are published." She went up to her and kissed her softly .She smiled and hurried off, where a shrine maiden greeted her at the entrance. Yae Miko Walk to the Publishing House was not to long, it only took her roughly 12-20 minutes to arrive there.
The morning air was crisp and cool as Yae Miko stepped out of her residence, her heels clicking softly against the stone pathway. The scent of fresh cherry blossoms filled the air, a reminder of the serenity and beauty of Narukami Island. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm, golden hue over the landscape.
Miko took a moment to appreciate the view, her eyes drifting over the lush greenery and the distant mountains. Her thoughts, however, were a whirl of emotions and memories, lingering on the events of the previous night. The wind ruffled her kimono, the fabric billowing gently as she began her walk to the publishing house.
The path was familiar, winding through the tranquil gardens and past the sacred shrines she had tended to for centuries. As she walked, Miko could hear the distant chirping of birds and the gentle rustling of leaves. She passed by the shrine dedicated to the Electro Archon, where she paused for a brief moment, her fingers lightly brushing the cool stone of the torii gate. The shrine stood as a solemn reminder of her duty and the bond she shared with Ei.
Continuing on, Miko's pace was unhurried, yet purposeful. The village around her was just starting to wake up. Shopkeepers were opening their stalls, and the scent of freshly baked goods wafted through the air, mingling with the aroma of morning tea. Villagers greeted her with respectful bows and warm smiles, to which she responded with graceful nods, her expression a perfect blend of authority and kindness.
Miko's path took her through a small market square, where the hustle and bustle of early morning activity was in full swing. She glanced around, noting the familiar faces of merchants and villagers alike. Children ran past, their laughter echoing in the crisp air, a sound that brought a fleeting smile to her lips. Despite the heavy thoughts weighing on her mind, she found solace in these simple, everyday moments of life on the island.
As she approached the publishing house, the building came into view, a stately structure nestled among the sakura trees. Its wooden beams were adorned with intricate carvings, and the entrance was framed by vibrant lanterns swaying gently in the breeze. Miko's heart quickened slightly as she neared the doorway, the anticipation of the day's work mingling with the lingering memories of the night before.
At the entrance, a shrine maiden bowed deeply in greeting. "Good morning, Lady Miko," she said respectfully. "We have been awaiting your presence in the writing hall."
Miko nodded, her demeanor composed and serene. "Good morning," she replied, her voice calm and authoritative. She stepped inside, the soft murmur of voices and the rustle of paper greeting her ears. The interior of the publishing house was warm and inviting, with walls lined with scrolls and manuscripts, each a testament to the island's rich literary heritage.
A swarm of shrine maidens quickly surrounded her, each with their own tasks and questions. "Lady Miko! I need your approval!" "Please, could you sign this?" "We have an urgent matter regarding the new publication!" They bombarded her with requests, their voices overlapping in a cacophony of urgency.
Miko raised a hand, silencing them with a graceful gesture. "One at a time, please," she said, her tone firm yet patient. She moved through the crowd, addressing each concern with the efficiency and wisdom that had earned her the respect of those around her.
Despite the flurry of activity, a small voice in her mind kept whispering about the night before, about Akira, about Ei. She took a deep breath, centering herself. There was work to be done, and as always, she would perform her duties with the utmost dedication.
Hours passed in a blur of activity, the constant hum of work surrounding her. But through it all, Miko maintained her composure, her thoughts occasionally drifting to the memories she held dear. As the day wore on, she found solace in the familiar routines and the knowledge that, no matter what happened, she would always have her place here, amidst the cherry blossoms and the sacred shrines of Narukami Island.
After a long day or reading and approving , Miko finally had a moment to herself. She walked outside, embracing the warm breeze. "Just like the day she left..." Miko smiled slightly, setting out her writing materials on a small desk. She sighed, preparing the ink by crushing flowers and squid until it turned pitch black. "Perfect," she whispered, rolling out a piece of vanilla paper.
She began to write a letter to someone she had often spent her days with until they mysteriously left after declaring their lifetime quest, Eternity. She wrote down memories from centuries ago, the wind softly drying the ink on the paper. Miko sat, thinking about what to write, even though she knew she would be the only one to read them. On a warm, breezy November afternoon, Lady Yae Miko of Narukami Island sat alone, writing a letter to the person she adored most. The first person she ever truly cared for. The one person she first loved.
Though they had left centuries ago, she still loved them with all her heart. As she finished the letter, the Traveler arrived with an urgent message. ### The Rush to the Vision Statue
The tranquility of the morning was shattered by the urgent voices of Paimon and the Traveler. "Lady Yae!" Paimon's high-pitched call echoed through the halls of the publishing house, drawing immediate attention. Yae Miko, amidst a sea of scrolls and bustling shrine maidens, turned sharply towards the commotion, her heart skipping a beat at the evident distress in Paimon's voice.
Miko quickly rose to her feet, the intricate folds of her kimono rustling with the sudden movement. "Paimon, Traveler, what brings you here in such a rush?" she asked, trying to maintain her calm facade despite the worry gnawing at her.
The Traveler, panting heavily, finally caught up to Paimon. "Something is happening at the old Vision statue!" Paimon exclaimed, her eyes wide with urgency. "There's a crowd, and something strange is going on!"
Without a moment's hesitation, Miko nodded and began to move swiftly towards the door. The shrine maidens and other workers parted respectfully, sensing the gravity of the situation. The Traveler and Paimon fell in step beside her, the urgency of their mission palpable in the air.
As they exited the building, the village outside was abuzz with activity. Word of the disturbance at the Vision statue had spread quickly, and villagers were gathering in clusters, whispering anxiously among themselves. The usually serene atmosphere of Narukami Island was now charged with tension.
Miko's pace quickened as they navigated the narrow streets, her mind racing with possibilities. The path to the old Vision statue wound through the heart of the village, past familiar landmarks that blurred in her peripheral vision as she focused on the task at hand. The Traveler, despite having caught their breath, wore a look of determined concern, matching Miko's hurried stride.
The sound of their footsteps echoed against the cobblestones, mingling with the rising murmur of the crowd. As they neared the statue, the throng of people became denser, and the air was thick with anticipation and unease. The soldiers on duty, recognizing Lady Yae Miko's approach, began to part the crowd with authoritative commands.
"Make way for Lady Yae Miko!" they shouted, their voices cutting through the noise. The crowd obeyed, forming a narrow path leading directly to the Vision statue.
Miko's heart pounded as she walked the final steps to the front of the crowd. The sight that greeted her was both mesmerizing and alarming. A strange, pulsating purple glow emanated from the old Vision statue, casting eerie shadows and illuminating the surrounding area with an otherworldly light. The portal-like phenomenon swirled and expanded, its energy crackling in the air.
"What... is that?" Paimon whispered, her voice filled with awe and fear.
Before Miko could respond, a figure began to materialize within the portal. The outline of a person became clearer with each passing second, and Miko's breath caught in her throat as she recognized the silhouette. The figure stepped out, revealing long, dark purple hair and familiar features. It was Ei.
"Ei...?" Miko whispered, her voice barely audible over the collective gasp of the crowd.
Ei staggered forward, her movements unsteady and weak. She managed a few steps before her strength gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. The sight of the fallen Archon sent a shockwave through Miko's system, and she sprang into action.
"EI?! SOMEONE GET HELP NOW!" she shouted, her voice a mix of command and desperation. The soldiers immediately dropped their spears and rushed to lift the Archon. "Take her to the shrine. I will look after her and get a healer!"
The urgency in Miko's voice spurred everyone into action. As the soldiers carefully lifted Ei, Miko stayed close, her mind a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts. The Traveler and Paimon followed, their faces etched with concern and determination.
As they made their way back to the shrine, the crowd parted, watching in hushed silence. The path back seemed longer than before, every second stretching out as they hurried to get Ei the help she needed. Miko's heart ached with a mixture of relief and worry, knowing that her beloved friend had returned but in such a fragile state.
Finally, they reached the shrine, and the soldiers gently placed Ei down. Miko knelt beside her, her hands trembling slightly as she brushed a strand of hair from Ei's face. "Hold on, Ei," she whispered softly, her voice filled with a blend of hope and sorrow. "You're home now."
As the healer was summoned and the preparations began, Miko stayed by Ei's side, her mind racing with memories and the heavy weight of the present. The journey to the statue and back had been frantic and surreal, but now, in the stillness of the shrine, Miko felt the full impact of the moment. Ei was back, and whatever lay ahead, they would face it together.
