So I was tagged by a few people to do this and why not.

1. What age did you discover Prince?

Let me preface this answer by saying I grew up with a mother that listened to religious music and a father that listened to old school country and western, so branching out from there, I was pretty much on my own. So I was 10 years old, in fact it was 8 days before my 11th birthday, when the now infamous 1991 Video Music Awards aired. Oh that yellow outfit and those assless pants. I loved the sounds he made and let me tell you, this 10 year old didn't know exactly what's she'd do with him, but she knew she wanted to grab him out of that screen and do something.

2. Favorite Song?

I know some people will hate this, but for me it's Gold. I hopped on the Prince train in the 1990's so that whole 1990's time frame holds a lot of fond memories for me. Gold was a positive song that came along when I needed that.

3. Favorite Video?

Gett Off is a great video in my opinion, the original one, not so much the house style video. Also I have to note that Somewhere Here on Earth is a beautiful video as well, I mean come on the man has beaded fringe on the cuffs of his suit jacket.

4. Favorite Movie

I'm going to stick to a classic and go with Purple Rain. I am quick to point out the flaws of this film and I enjoy a good laugh when watching it, but it also think it captures an interesting perspective on a very specific point in time.

5. Can you dance like Prince?

Nope. Not even a little. I'm gonna leave the dancing to everyone else.

6. Apollonia, Sheila or Mayte?

Really? These are my options? Out of the hordes of women these are the ones I'm given? Well, if I'm going to be limited like this I suppose I'll go with Sheila. Why Sheila over Mayte you ask? Well their are lots of reason, but lets go with I simply cannot forgive those eyebrows from the 1990's (and yes I hold Prince partially responsible for those eyebrows of hers as well). Now why Sheila over Apollonia you ask? Um, well, hhmmm, I don't know, just because. . . moving on.

7. Favorite Prince memory?

I have this memory from when I was young, and it was before I really fell into Prince in 1991. It would have been back in the mid to late 80's and I was staying at a friends house up the street. We had stayed up way past our bedtime and we were laying in bed listening to her radio very quietly and, I will never forget this, Erotic City came on the radio. Neither of us had ever heard it before or knew who it was, but I loved the song. I'd never heard anything like that before and it was just so incredible, even to my young ears. The next few nights when I was at home I remember listening to my little radio late at night, waiting to see if the song would play again, but it didn't, at least not when I was listening. Years later I would figure out who that was.

8. First concert you watched?

I remember watching The Ryde Dyvine when it was on tv way back when, does that count? If not than it was probably the LoveSexy Tour. That was quite the visually stimulating concert.

9. Favorite performance?

Do Me Baby from Capital Theater. No question.

10. Favorite era?

I'm a huge sucker for the 1990's as I've said. He went through a lot in that decade and it all came through in his music. His starts off so optimistic in is music, then things get darker and angrier as he does and by the end of the decade he comes across a little lost. Just sit and listen to all the albums from that decade and it's just an incredible rollercoaster, but it's all so Prince.

11. Favorite Prince quote?

"Like books and black lives, albums still matter"

"I don't really care so much what people say about me because usually is it a reflection of who they are"
