Luna's second year was quite different from her first.

First, the Hogwarts Express was invaded by Dementors.

Then, she finds out that there will be Dementors guarding every door to the castle.

Only because of the fact that Sirius Black was on the loose.

She heard from Ginny that her brother and his friends were talking about Sirius Black. And apparently she overheard them saying that he betrayed Lily and James Potter.

And then later she discovered that the Dementors interfered with a Quidditch game. They were never supposed to go onto Hogwarts Grounds.

She wanted to learn how to fend off the Dementors, just in case one of them were to attack her friends.

So she waited for the opportunity to ask her Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Remus Lupin.

She figured that if he was able to do it on the train, he surely knew some sort of spell or charm that repelled them. So she was going to ask him.

It was nice having a DADA teacher that actually knew something about the Dark Arts.

Gilderoy Lockheart was no good. He was a fake.

So she knew to seek advice from Professor Lupin.

But Harry Potter beat her to it.

So she watched as Harry got his lessons.

Watched as he tried to learn the Patronus Charm.

Watched as he attempted to ward off the Dementor Boggart.

And how he never gave up hope that he'd succeed.

And she learned how to cast a Patronus herself.

She also made the realization that Lupin was drinking Wolfsbane potion and was a werewolf.

Not too long after, she witnessed people going into a passage under the Whomping Willow. She went and hid, watching as they came out and then seeing the Dementors surround Harry and Sirius. She knew she had to do something to stop the Dementors.

"Expecto Patronum," she said calmly, not even realizing that future Harry(came to the past via Time Turner) yelled it at the same time as her.

Harry however noticed the two animals on the water. A stag... and a rabbit...

Future Harry didn't realize that he wasn't the only one to fend off the Dementors from attacking himself.

While Luna was in her dormitory that night, she looked out the window just in time to see Sirius black flying on a Hippogriff. Far away...

Then she hears that Lupin was leaving.

The best DADA teacher was leaving.

"You okay Luna?" Ginny asked her.

"I just think that there was nothing wrong with Professor Lupin. Even though he was a werewolf. He seemed to be fairly sane transformed. He didn't even hurt anyone."

"But the parents didn't like the thought so he had to be sent home..."

"And now we have to go home too."

"See you in the summer!"

"Are you coming to the Quidditch World Cup?"

"I'll think about it. My father might have other plans though."

"Let me know and I'll save you a ticket!"

"Thanks, Ginny."

"Bye!"

"Bye."

Luna was ready for a break. This year was eventful in many ways.

People started calling her 'Loony Lovegood' and teased her. Even her fellow Ravenclaws didn't really like her.

At least there was still Ginny.

She'd always be a friend.
