"As much as I love you, I wish you hadn't gone to the dance with us. Do you really have to be so stubborn?", Bryce complains watching Scott walking around on his own, too. "I'm not stubborn. We just decided that we don't go together. That's it." "Did you even decide anything? He asked you and you never gave him an answer", Monty corrects her.

"How do you even know about it?" "I told him to ask you and he complained to me that it's been a stupid idea because you don't care about him." "Scott is being so stubborn", the girl sighs rolling her eyes receiving a ‚are-you-serious'-look from Justin in return. "Oh just go to Jessica and leave us single people alone."

During the rest of the evening, Monty and Bryce found two girls who began dancing with them. So in the middle of the dance, Liz is standing on the side on her own watching everyone dance. The last dance which she attended was the night in which Scott and her spent their first night together. When Jeff was here with Leah but still taking time for one dance with Liz.

Scott is thinking about the same night as he's watching Liz standing alone on the sideline. She's got a beautiful dress on and tonight, he doesn't even think about ripping it off. He would love to dance with her before anything else. She should have said yes and go to the dance with him. But instead, they made it complicated. One last try, he mutters to himself nervously.

"Mind dancing with me?", he surprises the girl so she turns around looking at him as if she didn't even know he was here. "Scott, even if I wanted to.. everyone else could see us." "Can you stop thinking about everyone else for a moment?" "I'm sorry but if Jeff finds out.. we can't risk it." Scott nods disappointed but then he's got an idea.

Without asking her again, he takes her hand and pulls her with him outside of the gym and into the locker room where they could still hear the music. "Scott, I'm not in the mood to-", she starts complaining thinking he'd want the same thing to happen as last time but he pulls her close by laying his hand on her waist.

"No one can see us in here. You've got no excuse anymore to push me away now." "Okay", the girl whispers surprised by how much he is willing to do to get close to her, "I like that." Just then, the song changes to ‚The night we met' and Liz instinctively feels the urge to run away. That's Jeff's and her song and Scott knows that.

He quickly keeps her close whispering into her ear, "I'm not going to replace him. This might be your song but you can still enjoy it with me." He's right. And so they dance, her head resting on his shoulder, his arms around her body. They enjoy the sound of the song and this feeling.

"Oh my god, is that Liz with Scott Reed? I thought they came to the dance on their own", Riley gasps as another girl from the cheer team shows her a picture of Scott and Liz walking through the hallway alone at the dance. "So they left together yesterday", Samantha states looking at the picture disgusted, "He's way too cute for her and she's already had Jeff. Isn't the poor boy still in rehab?"

"Yeah, she's totally playing with him. I mean hurting Jeff Atkins is one thing, but going out with his best friend? Slutty behavior." "You know what, Sam? There's nothing worse than a girl hating on another girl, especially when they're on the same cheer team", Sheri speaks up as her and Liz have heard them pretty well. "Sheri", Riley says surprised, "And Liz."

Liz would have loved to say something, especially since Riley was the one who also spread the rumor about her being pregnant but she couldn't. She was way too hurt by their comments. "There's no hate between us, Sheri. Don't exaggerate."

"Are you kidding me, Sam? Don't you think I remember all your sneaky comments about Ellie when her and Jeff were dating and you and Leah wanted to ruin them? We're the cheer captains so you better know how to treat your team members correctly."

"We? This is ridiculous, Sheri. You're telling us how to treat our team members correctly but Liz can split up the baseball team or what do you think will happen as soon as Jeff gets back? Do you think he'll be amused to hear that her and Scott have been dating behind his back?"

"Scott and I are not dating", Liz finally speaks up, "We are friends only. Believe what you want to believe but leave us alone and more importantly, leave Jeff out of this. You're just jealous because none of you could get him." "You'll see what will happen when he finally gets back", Leah snaps back at her but Liz and Sheri decide to just roll their eyes and leave. It's not worth discussing with them.

"You're not concentrated", Liz notices looking at Scott who should try to answer all of the questions. They've decided to study for their Spanish test together so he could get good grades. But instead of doing what she says, he just scribbles in his notebook. "Yes, yes I am. Wait, what should I do?", he asks for the third time. This is so unusual for him. "Scott, come on. If you don't take this seriously, I can stop tutoring you. We could do something else as well", she mutters annoyed. The two still hook up behind closed doors.

"No wait, I'm sorry. It's just.. I would like to go on a date with you", he holds his hand behind his neck shyly, "I thought I shouldn't ask you with everything going on but can we just finally admit that there's more between us? I don't want to sneak around anymore, Els." Liz sighs. Sooner or later it would become complicated and both of them know that. "Fine. But you should appreciate that I'm giving in for once", she smiles feeling slightly relieved that she finally gives them a chance.
