Chapter 25
(Readers POV)
I saw the boat stop at a dock. Me and Blake stepped off the boat. We walked off the docks and onto the main land. I saw a lot of Faunus and a bunch of stands selling fruits and fish.
(Y/N): There's a lot of people here.
Blake: That's what happens when you try to put an entire race on a small island.
(Y/N): Is there that many Faunus on this island?
Blake: Two-thirds of the island is inhabitable dessert with dangerous wildlife.
(Y/N): Dangerous? That makes me excited to observe them. I might learn something new I can do with my semblance.
We kept on walking. I took in the sights. So this is Menagerie. It looks beautiful. We walked up a hill. After reaching the top, I saw a lot of buildings.
(Y/N): Wow. This is a whole town.
Blake: This, is Kuo Kuana.
(Y/N): The Faunus here really took all they were giving, huh?
Blake: We were forced to. We asked to be treated equally and all we got was an island. So we tried to make a place where the Faunus can feel welcome, but this island is just a reminder that Faunus aren't equal.
I thought about what Blake said. It does feel weird. People with an extra body part gets treated like trash. What happened for the Faunus to get treated like this anyway?
Blake: Alright, time to go home.
(Y/N): Your home? Is it nearby?
Blake: Kind of.
(Y/N): Which one is it?
Blake started to point. I looked at where she is pointing and it's at a huge house in the middle of the town.
(Y/N): That's your home?
I looked back at Blake and she nodded. Has Blake been secretly rich this whole time?!
(Y/N): Then let's get going.
Blake nodded and we made our way to her house. After some walking, we made it to the front door. Blake was about to knock, but stopped her hand.
(Y/N): What is it?
Blake: I um... It's just been a long time since I've seen my parents.
I put my hand on her shoulder. She looked at me and I smiled at her.
(Y/N): You came this far.
Blake took a deep breath and nodded. She looked back at the door and grabbed the knocker on the door. She used the knocker, making a loud sound against the door. Blake let go of it and took a few steps back. Me and Blake waited for a moment and we heard the door open, revealing a short black haired cat Faunus. Her cat ears perked up when she saw us and she stepped out of the house.
Kali: Blake?
Blake awkwardly waved her hand.
Blake: Hi, mom.
Blake's mom stepped forward and started to hug Blake.
Kali: My baby girl.
I can see Blake hesitate before she wrapped her arms around her mom. I heard footsteps coming from the inside the house. I looked at the door and saw a very tall and big man standing there. Why is he really intimidating?
Ghira: Kali? Who is it?
He saw Blake and his expression changed. His eyes went wide. Blake looked up and locked eyes with his. He smiled at Blake and joined in on the hug. I just smiled to myself. It's nice to see moments like this. The three broke the family hug.
Kali: You two must be tired. Please come in, I made tea.
The four of us walked inside and we walked into what I can guess is the living room. We all sat down at a square table and Blake's mom poured tea into some cups.
(Y/N): Thank you very much, Mrs. Belladonna.
Kali: Oh please. Just call me Kali.
Ghira: My name is Ghira. It's nice to meet you.
(Y/N): I'm (Y/N) (L/N).
Kali: We were horrified when we heard the news. The Kingdom of Vale isn't perfect, but it certainly didn't deserve what happened. Oh, we were both so worried.
Ghira: Please, I knew she'd be fine!
Kali: That isn't the slightest bit true. You should have seen him pacing.
I took a sip from my tea. It's pretty good.
Kali: So (Y/N). How did you and Blake meet?
(Y/N): Oh, well we just sorta ran into each other at Beacon. That's pretty much it.
Ghira: Glad to hear that my daughter made some friends there.
(Y/N): I'm her boyfriend actually.
Wait. Did I just say that out loud?! I covered my mouth with my hands. I saw Blake, Kali, and Ghira staring at me. Ghira looks like he wants to kill me. If I start running now, I might be able to get away.
Kali: That's wonderful news!
(Y/N): Huh?
Kali: I was hoping that this day would come! My baby girl finally broke out of her shell and found a boyfriend! She even found the same kind of Faunus as her! I bet you're just the nicest to Blake!
Blake: Mom!
(Y/N): Of course I am, ma'am.
At least Kali approves of me, but I can tell Ghira is still giving me the death glare. I don't even want to look at it. I heard a knock at the door.
Ghira: Darn it, I completely forgot about the meeting!
Kali: Ghira...
Ghira: Give me a moment.
Ghira stood up and walked away from the table to answer the door.
Blake: Is everything ok?
Kali: Yes, dear, just poor timing. He can reschedule. It's just been hard dealing with them lately.
(Y/N): Dealing with who?
Kali: The White Fang.
Me and Blake stood up from the table.
(Y/N) and Blake: What?!
Me and Blake rushed over to the front door. We saw Ghira talking to two Faunus's wearing robes.
Blake: Dad!
Ghira looked back at Blake.
Ghira: Blake, what's wrong?
Corsac: Miss Belladonna.
Fennec: We had no idea you'd return.
Blake: What are you doing talking to these people?
Ghira: This is Corsac and Fennec Albain. They represent the White Fang here in Menagerie now.
I got mad and went up to them. I grabbed them my the collar of their clothes.
(Y/N): Are these two also psychopaths?!
Fennec: Young man, I'm not sure what you've heard of our organization, but I can assure you, we're not nearly as ferocious as the media would have you believe.
(Y/N): Heard?! I've lost an arm because of the White Fang!
Ghira: What are you talking about?
Corsac: It appears you have both your arms.
Blake: (Y/N)'s right! The White Fang were at the Fall of Beacon!
The two Faunus went silent. They looked at each other.
Ghira: Is this true?
Fennec: Sadly, Your Grace, it is.
Ghira: (Y/N), let them go.
I let go of them and took a few steps back. I made sure to look for any subtle movements from them, to make sure they don't try attacking.
Ghira: Explain yourselves.
Corsac: Though it pains us to admit, it has become apparent that the Vale branch of the White Fang is no longer operating under orders of High Leader Khan. Rather, they've elected to follow the rule of one Adam Taurus. I believe you're all familiar with the young adept and his... extreme philosophies.
(Y/N): Adam Taurus? Is he the one with red hair and black horns?
Corsac: Correct.
(Y/N): So he's the one I have to thank for him cutting me into pieces. I bet Beacon wasn't the only place he help destroy.
Fennec: The High Council had their suspicions of a splinter group, but they could prove nothing until this latest incident.
Blake: "Incident"? People are dead!
Corsac: And it's a tragedy.
Fennec: Your Grace, we came to assure you that Brother Taurus and his followers do not represent the will of the White Fang.
Ghira: And how can I be sure of that?
Corsac: We understand if you bear any skepticism towards these claims. The White Fang's tactics are admittedly, more aggressive since you stepped down as High Leader and became Chieftain of Menagerie. But this, this is no way to make our message heard.
Fennec: We have ample documentation from the council meeting, as well as several strategies to apprehend and punish these strays if you care to review them.
Ghira: I will, but another day. I'd like some time to reconnect with my daughter.
Corsac: But of course, Your Grace.
Ghira: Goodbye, gentlemen.
He shut the door on those two.
(Y/N): Glad those two are gone.
Ghira: So what do you mean by "lose an arm"?
I made an extra pair of arms. Ghira looked at me confused and shocked.
(Y/N): It's a long explanation, so I'll just say it's my semblance.
Seeing those two here. It made me worry if the White Fang would attack here in Menagerie. I thought about what to do. I got down on one knee in front of Ghira.
Blake: (Y/N), what are you doing?
(Y/N): Mr. Belladonna. I know I shouldn't ask anything from you and you must be a busy man, but I have request for you.
Ghira: What is your request?
(Y/N): I want you to train me!
Ghira: Train you?
(Y/N): Yes! I lost to Adam at Beacon because I wasn't strong enough. I almost got Blake killed because I wasn't able to beat him, we just got away by chance. I don't want that to happen again and I feel like that we are going to have another attack on our hands. So please, help me get stronger!
I looked up at Ghira with determination. He looked down at me and thought about what to do.
Ghira: You did protect my daughter. I guess helping you get stronger is the least I can do.
I smiled at him and got on my feet. I bowed to him.
(Y/N): Thank you so much sir.
