chapter 6 : Draco
"So, what do you want to do after dinner?" Pansy asked while playing with my collar at the Slytherin table.
I shrugged her off. I had other things on my mind, such as that Scarhead. Harry Fucking Potter just had to eavesdrop on our conversation. He thinks he's so slick, but I saw him from the first moment that I returned to our compartment. I was in a terrific mood, but he ruined it. He was the reason my father was in Azkaban and now on house arrest. It was great, refreshing really, to see the blood flow down his face as he sat there frozen, not able to help himself. He really deserv-
Wait a second? What was going through my head? My father's being a deatheater had nothing to do with Harry. If my father hadn't been doing the things he has been doing, he wouldn't have gotten arrested. It was completely his fault, not Harry's. No matter how much I loathed Scarhead, I just couldn't place the blame on him for that.
That's just great. Now I regret doing it and need to apologize. I hate apologizing to people. It shows that you were wrong, but Draco Malfoy was never wrong. I hated to be wrong.
"Didn't you hear my question, Draco?" Pansy asked. I could tell she was getting angry with me.
I nodded. "Of course I bloody heard you. Everyone heard your loud mouth."
Pansy is one of the few girls that I can say anything I want to, and she'll still crawl a hundred miles just to make me smile. Most guys enjoy having a girl like that around, and what can I say? I enjoy it just as much.
"And what is your answer?" She continued in her snippy, annoying voice.
"No," I simply stated.
"No? Since when have you said no to me?" Pansy asked, which caused Blaise to laugh, "Shut it, Blaise."
"I've said no to you a great many times. You just choose not to remember it," I smirked.
She crossed her arms over her chest. "Well, then. I guess it's over then."
I laughed. "We both know you don't mean that. It might have worked in the past, but it's not going to work now. Trust me, I'm over your little games, Pans."
"Well, then. If you change your mind, you know where to find me," she said before kissing my cheek and taking Millicent with her as she left the Great Hall.
"Man, Draco. We need to find ourselves some girls who are not stuck up bitches who thrive on drama and gossip," Blaise laughed and then took a swig of his pumkin juice.
I nodded as I caught Hanna's eye as she was leaving the Hall with her friend Bella beside her, "I think I already have."
"What? That Hanna girl you met yesterday?"
I nodded. "Yes. I'm about to meet her."
"She goes here?" Blaise seemed shocked.
"I was surprised myself."
"Lucky for you man. Hoping to get lucky tonight?" he said, laughing as he always did.
I shook my head. "I just want to get to know her first."
"That's never stopped you before."
I shrugged. "Well, it's going to be different this time. When I looked into her eyes-"
"You felt something. Yada, yada," Blaise said and sighed, "This just isn't like you, mate. It's a little wierd to see this side of you, but I do admit, it's nice to see that you have another side."
I smiled. "Well, plan on seeing it for as long as this lasts with Hanna."
"Hopefully it will last a while. You seem happy - so far."
"I am, mate," I said and stood, "I am."
I waited for her a good fifteen minutes. I thought that she was going to stand me up, but she she graced me with her precence, I knew why. She had exchanged her robes for a tight top that covered her but showed off her curves and a pair of jeans. She looked beautiful, even with her hair pulled back into a pony-tail.
"Hey," she said and blushed before sitting next to me on the steps, "Sorry. I guess I'm a little late."
I shrugged. "Doesn't matter. You look great," I smirked.
"Thanks," she said, brushing some of her bangs out of her eyes, "I was afriad that you would leave."
"I was afriad that you would've stood me up," I pointed out.
She giggled. "I may be the type of girl who runs tardy most of the time, but I would never leaving you hanging without a good reason."
"That's good to know," I said, feeling confident, "So, do you want to meet again tomorrow? Same place and time?" I smirked.
She gave me an odd look. "Moving kind of fast, aren't we?"
I shrugged.
"How do you even know that tonight is even going to go all that well? You don't want to tie yourself down to another date without knowing whether or not you actually enjoy my company, right?" she said and pushed my shoulder.
I smiled at her. "I just know that tonight is going to go perfectly."
"That confident are we?" she raised an eyebrow up at me.
"I guess you could say that," I said as my eyes traveled from her eyes to her lips.
Those lips looked like they would be so soft and warm against mine. I then thought of kissing her before the night was over, but decided against it. I may have a reputation of shagging alot of girls, but I don't have a reputation of doing while I'm with someone, even if she is Pansy.
"So," she said as she but her lip and looked away, "what is the meaning of this little meeting?"
"You're calling this a meeting?" I laughed.
She just shrugged. "Well, it's not a date technically."
"How is this not a date?" I asked, curious to what she was actually thinking.
"Well, I guess it technically is, but you have a girlfriend. Right?" she said, smiling.
I looked away from her. Smiling? How could she smile when she's on a date with a guy that has a girlfriend, unless she wasn't interested in me like that. Like all she wants to be is friends. Friends that talk and shop and give advice.
Oh, God, I thought, I need to break up with Pansy soon.
"Yes, I do," I sighed.
"Oh, well," she said as she lost her smile and then gained it back, "What do you presume we do then?"
I smiled. "Me? Why do I have to choose?"
"Because," she said, poking me in the arm, "this was your idea."
"Oh, right," I joked, "I nearly forgot."
"Well...?" she said, prompting me.
I couldn't really thing of anything, so I said the first childish thing that came to my mind. "Race you!" I said and jumped up, not giving her the destination as I started running.
"Hey, that's not fair!" I heard her whine behind me.
"Too bad," I turned and started running backwards, "so sad!"
"You just wait, Draco!" she said.
When she said that, I tripped and fell. I couldn't see where I was going and tripped over something that I still have no idea what it was. I just remember falling and then she was by my side. Asking me if I was alright and making a fuss of me. I just wanted it to go on, so I didn't answer her and pretended injury.
"Draco!" she yelled after making the fuss, "Alright, I know you're faking. Get up, mister!"
I smirked as I opened my eyes. "I thought I had you going?"
"Please," she smirked and stood, "you wouldn't make it as an actor. Your little 'trick' had fake written all over it."
"One can only try," I said as I stood.
We were then only inches from each other because I made sure that when I stood, I was standing right there. Without thinking, I leaned in and closed my eyes only to be pushed away by a full palm to the face.
"What do you think you're doing?" she snapped, "If this was even a real date, I don't kiss on the first date."
"Oh, well, sorry," I said, stepping away, "Just so you know, that wasn't my intention. It just happened."
She smirked and sat down on the ground. "So, wanna play twenty questions?"
"Like we're children?" I asked, smiling as I sat down next to her.
"Of course it'll have a little bit of a twist to it. Are you up for that?"
I shrugged. "Sure. I'm up for anything."
"Okay, we wach as each other a question each time we meet," she proposed.
"You mean, I can only ask you one question a night? That's hardly fair," I pouted.
She laughed, "Draco, I meant one question that has meaning behind it. It can be about anything or anyone. We can get to know each other that way."
I smirked. "That sounds interesting. I'm in."
She then looked at her watch and jumped up. "I'm so sorry to be leaving, but curfew is almost up. I promised Bella that I would do something with her before lights out. Do you mind cutting it a little short tonight?"
I nodded. "Of course. I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow!" she yelled over her shoulder.
