chapter 5 : Hanna
Hanna
"I can't believe that Draco asked to see you tonight!" Bella was going on and on about it in the compartment.
I had to admit that I couldn't believe it either. Draco Malfoy asked me, Hanna Honeyyeager, out on a date? Well, that's what it sounded like to me. Plus, I just wanted to sound cool and didn't want to scare him off so I just said okay like a dummy. Inside, I was bouncing off the walls in udder excitment. My friends were practically bouncing off the walls when Bella told them all about it.
Elizabeth Austen, Beth for short, screamed when she heard it. Her pale face all red and flustered when she kept telling me how lucky I was and that he was so good looking. Her black hair was begining to frizz from her trying to pull it out. That was our Beth. She was always so overdramatic. Kathrine Bronte, Kat shorthanded, was just staring at me with her big green eyes and kept pushing her long, long red hair out of her face. That was how she was though, quiet-natured.
"Hanna, why aren't you more excited?" Beth asked me.
I shrugged. "It's just a date right?"
I smirked then because that meant I was keeping it all inside. I was good at hiding my feelings, something I've always been good at. Bella was the only person who cold tell when I was lying or faking my emotions. Has been since we met three years ago. It was like we were meant to be friends.
"Just a date?" Beth said, eyes growing, lips parted, spit flying on my face.
I took the back of my sleeve and wiped her saliva off of my cheeks. "Say it, don't spray it, Beth."
"How can you just be so non-chalant about this?" she continued, ignoring my suggestion.
"Am I supposed to be chalant?" I said, laughing.
Bella just rolled her eyes. "She's estatic, but she just doesn't want to show it."
"Then why don't you show it? I mean, in front of him I understand, but now with us girls you should be shrieking you head off," Beth looked at me funny.
"Because that's just the person that I am. Can't you accept that?" I said and placed my hand to my chest and dramatically pretended to start tearing up. "Can't you guys just talk about somehting else?" I said, resuming normalcy.
"No," Beth and Bella smiled as they continued to talk as the guys of our group came in.
There was Gregory Samuleson, Bella's boyfriend. They fought so much, you'd think that they'd be on a muggle soap oprea. Gregory was tall and dark, something Bella liked quite abit. Next there was Benjamin Darcy, a Gryffindor that almost all girls have wanted since forever. He was the total package, perfect in everyway, which was also his biggest flaw. He was also Kathrine's boyfriend. Who would've known that two red-heads would look so good together? Then there was Heath Wilson, a tall and handsome guy with great hair and a nice smile, which was all he had going for him unfortuneatly. He was so in love with Elizabeth. They made quite a nice couple. Finally, there was Robbie Castings. He was my ex-boyfriend with jet-black hair and deep brown eyes. He had a smile that made me go weak in the knees.
Just like it was doing just then when he walked in and flashed me those pearly whites.
"Hey, Hanna," he said as he sat down next to me, "How've you been?"
"I've been good," I answered.
Bella just had to say something, like she always did. "She walked out on her mum."
Robbie looked back at me with a look of astonishment. "Nice, Hanna. It's about time you stood up to that bitch."
I weakly smiled at him. I couldn't say anything to that. I mean, yes Fiona never really was a mother to me, but I still had respect for her. She's the reason why I'm living, right? It just hurt that I didn't have a true mother, but Fiona was all I had. All that I used to have.
"Don't," I said to Robbie as he put his arm around me.
"What's wrong, Hanna?" he asked.
Beth laughed. "She's got a date with Draco Malfoy tonight."
"What?!" Robbie looked back at me. "Is the the truth, Hanna?"
I sighed and nodded.
"But, Hanna, honey," he said taking my hand, "I thought we were going to talk about what happened and get back together?"
"Like we do all the time?" I asked sarcastically.
He nodded. "I know I can always trust that you'll be there."
I then pulled my hand from his and smirked at him. "Not this time."
"Hanna, how about we change into our robes?" Bella asked, saving me.
I nodded and grabbed my robe from my trunk. When we went to change, Bella pulled me into the same changing booth. I smiled and started to unbutton my shirt.
"Hanna!" Bella said as she slipped out of her jeans and into her uniform skirt, "I can't believe that you said that to Robbie. I know that his smile is your weakness. You go weak at the knees and fall for him all over again," she then paused and smirked at me, "Is this about Draco?"
I sighed and pulled my robe on over my uniform, "Well," I then smiled, "I guess it is. I just can't explain it, but when I looked into his eyes, I could tell that there was something there. That this is just the begining of something beautiful."
Bella lost her serious look and replaced it with a smile. "I bet it is."
