☺︎︎ Chapter Forty-Nine
"Wait, so you told him?" Hendery blinks, glancing at the human boy in the room with them as he discreetly mentions him.
Sighing, Jaemin nods while taking a seat on the wooden chair near Lucas who was listening in to the conversation.
"How come you're starting to make this a habit to us?" Yangyang jokes, "you tell Jeno a secret of yours and let us know afterwards, or you and Jeno both have a secret and then admit it to us." He said.
Jaemin shrugs while glancing at his boyfriend who was a little lost on what they're talking about. Well, he knows but at the same time feels like he doesn't know everything.
Shrugging it off, he turns to Jaemin and smiles shyly. The latter chuckling before reaching out to bring the younger boy to sit on his lap.
Jeno blushes but doesn't say anything, he purses his lips to stay quiet as Yangyang speaks up. "And then what now?"
His question causes the others to perk up, Jaemin raising a brow at him in confusion. "What do you mean?" He asks, a little hesitant.
Licking his fangs, Yangyang thinks for a moment if he should continue and voice out his words to the vampire prince or not.
After a few seconds, he decides to just go for it thanks to a reassuring nod Hendery gave him when he kinda accidentally reads his mind but whatever.
"You're not going to do anything about your royal vampire thing?" He mentions and right off the bat, Jaemin's face slowly turns into a scowl.
"No." He immediately answers.
"you're the heir to the throne, Jaem. Your parents–"
"Doesn't matter. I'm not taking my spot as the next awaited 'king'." The vampire prince emphasizes, almost angry but tries to calm himself down.
Especially when the human boy on his lap shifts a little, sensing the younger boy felt a bit uncomfortable and scared on what's about to come up next because of this unwanted topic.
Lucas, who has been silently listening to the conversation, decides to speak up as well.
"But bro, your people are waiting for you. They have been for nearly over a decade or something, I don't even know because I lost count," he suddenly talks to himself at the end.
Before Jaemin could argue back, Lucas continues to back up Yangyang's opinion. "All I'm saying is that you can't just leave your spot open for anyone."
Getting frustrated, the vampire prince slowly and quietly stands up as Jeno lets him– concern written all over his pretty face– while Jaemin huffs.
"I'll be right back." He announces and quickly heads out the room before anyone could stop him.
And when I mean anyone, it's likely to be Jeno Lee who was about to follow his boyfriend to who knows where but gets pulled back by Yangyang.
He turns to the said boy with a confused look, "don't go after him, let him be for a while. He needs some air." Yangyang briefly tells him.
"But..."
"He's heading to the rooftop, do some quick runs or fly around if it's safe out– which slightly is since the sun will be going down soon." Yangyang reassures him.
Pursing his lips, Jeno really wants to be his stubborn self and run after his boyfriend anyway. But this time, his guts are telling him not to, based from Jaemin's reaction earlier, he thinks Yangyang is right.
Hendery walks up to the human boy and places a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently to get his attention. "I can sense that you're wondering more about the topic." He said.
Jeno widens his eyes and had a scandalized look, feeling like he had gotten exposed while his cheeks turned pink.
"I-Is that bad...?" He asks, scratching his elbow awkwardly while the three other boys could only smile gently at him, making sure to not scare him off or Jaemin would then go insane.
Shaking his head, Lucas pats his arm and gestures for him to take a seat– that was originally Jaemin's but it doesn't matter anyway.
Jeno did as so and straightens his posture, eyes focused on all three boys while his ears are open as he's ready for them to speak up.
Lucas walks over to one of the broken sinks and turns the faucet on, surprising Jeno when he sees water running down into the drain.
"The water still works here, a little bit of electricity too." The werewolf boy explains with a small chuckle, aimed towards the human boy who nods back, not asking further more questions.
Yangyang, being the one who usually explains things for him, rightfully did what he's supposed to do while the other two creatures could only back him up whenever they can.
Jeno listens, trying not to react too much but lets out a small noise of acknowledgement from here and there, up until Yangyang finishes.

"Jaeminnie hyung?" Jeno calls for his lover, opening his bedroom door ajar while Bongsik meows at him.
The vampire prince has quickly entered the bedroom after dinner time, excusing himself with a small nod while Jeno was doing the dishes.
The familiar meows again, but doesn't speak up in the same language the two boys speak.
She senses that this is the moment where she has to leave Jaemin alone instead of bothering him with her sassiness.
Jeno earns a hum from the older boy who had took a seat on his bed instead of his bean bag– because Jaemin himself still refuses to take Jeno's offer on sharing the bed with him despite them being official.
Not wasting any time, the human boy walks over to his boyfriend and sits beside him as he lays his head on Jaemin's shoulder.
Taking Jaemin's hand– to which the latter had instantly let him be– Jeno plays with the older boy's fingers as they sat there in silence.
"What did the boys tell you?" Jaemin asks in a mumble, surprising Jeno a tad bit due to his low voice.
Licking his lips– ignoring the sweet taste of the chapstick he currently has on– the younger boy shrugs back nonchalantly.
"I'm not going to say anything about this until I know everything else." Jeno replies.
Raising a brow, Jaemin glances at him. "But they told you, didn't they? I know they did, the look they had when I came back so we could leave and I heard Lucas turning the faucet on."
Smiling a little, Jeno shakes his head and refuses to tell Jaemin anything on what the others told him earlier. "I know we said no secrets anymore, but..."
"This technically isn't a secret, hyung." He said before sighing, "I can't say much on this without hearing what you have to say." He adds.
Blinking, Jaemin doesn't reply as he was too deep in his thoughts. Realizing the older boy wasn't in the right mood to talk about this, Jeno hugs him around the neck tightly.
"Good night, hyung. Let's talk about this tomorrow, or soon, when you want to tell me." He whispers and places a long kiss on Jaemin's sharp jawline.
"My dear soulmate, it's usually you who dismisses the topics. But goodnight, my love."
"Pup, I am ready to tell you. But admitting something is hard for me."
