Third Person POV

Mabel and Dipper were both on the bus headed toward Gravity Falls. It had been several long years since the twins had left Gravity Falls to return home, and they were beyond excited to return.

"Want some old butterscotch I found on the floor?" Mabel asked Dipper, holding out in her hand with a sticky half melted candy in the middle.

"Ew Mabel no," Dipper said pushing her hand away. "You really shouldn't eat food you find on the floor."

Mabel shrugged, and stuffed the old candy in her mouth, not bothering to listen to her brother. Dipper sighed and looked out the window. Endless Pine trees lined the horizon. They were getting close.

After another 30 minutes the bus screeched to a stop. Mabel fell head first onto the floor before hopping up excitedly.

"Hurry up, Dipper! Let's go!"

Mabel grabbed waddles and her luggage before charging forward like shoppers on Black Friday.

Trampling over Dipper, she ran down the isle and off the bus. Dipper grabbed his small suitcase, and followed behind her quickly.

Sitting on the bench was Wendy, whom was still wearing Dipper's cap, Soos, Candy, and Grenda. They had all came to welcome them back.

"Wow dude you must have grown at least a foot!" Wendy said hugging Dipper.

Dipper took off Wendy's hat and handed it back to her, as she did the same with his.

"Yeah but I'm still taller!" Mabel bragged playfully punching his shoulder, even though Dipper was visibly taller than his twin.

"Are not!"

"Are too!"

"Are no-"

"Alright you're both the same height!" Grenda yelled breaking the silence.

Mabel smiled deviously, and Dipper rolled his eyes playfully. She would take any chance to annoy her brother.

Soos took everyone's luggage and loaded into Stan's car.

"Woah Gruncle Stan left you his car?"

"Yeah dudes. The golf cart broke down a while back, so I asked him if I could use his car. I'm actually surprised he agreed."

"Maybe I can fix it?" Dipper asked climbing into the car.

"Sure thing dude. You can try it after dinner."  Soos replied starting the car.

The engine hummed to life and soon they were off towards the Mystery Shack. Dipper sat in the front talking about California with Soos while Mabel, Candy and Grenda were gossiping about the newest rom-coms.

The Attic was just as they had left it. A few spiders here and there but everything was the same. Mabel already started setting up her posters and stickers in the wall while Dipper was organizing his books.

"Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford are coming home soon, right?" Mabel asked jumping up and down on her bed.

"I think so. I haven't gotten a letter from them in a while. The last one I received was from Wales."

"Do they have whales there?" Mabel asked excitedly.

"Umm.. maybe?"

"That makes perfect sense! It must be named after the whales then!"

"Well actually it's spelt differen...and she's gone."

Mabel had run back downstairs to the TV room where Candy and Grenda were waiting. Mabel was holding a sleeping bag and a bunch of--you guessed it-- rom-coms. Dipper immediately frowned.

"TIME FOR A SLEEPOVER!" The three girls screamed, as they jumped up and down excitedly.

"But Mabel we just got here," Dipper said tugging on his sisters arm like a child.

"I'm sorry Dipper, but I promised them," Mabel said skipping out the door with her friends.

Dipper waved goodbye sadly, and watched as they walked away. At least they weren't having it in the attic. Sighing he walked to the shop to find Soos. He was trying to sell some T-shirts to a costumer.

"Hey Soos?" Dipper called, after the costumer had left.

"Hey Dude. What's up?"

"Nothing really. Do you want to hang out later?"

"Sorry dude I can't. I have to restock the shop. Being the business man now means I don't have as much time."

Dipper nodded sadly, and walked downstairs to Fords lab. It was exactly as he had left it. He and Stan had been on their paranormal adventure for almost two years, just as long as Dipper and Mabel had been gone.

The three journals were sitting, stacked neatly on a shelf. Dipper was was surprised that Ford hadn't hidden them somewhere or at least locked them up. After all that had happened only two summers ago, it would be rightful to.

Dipper shivered remembering the tight grasp as Bill held him and Mabel. He had pronounced one of them to death, but he never got the chance. Stan had saved them and now all was well. All was well, at least for the time being.

Taking the three journals he walked back upstairs and sat on the front porch. Opening the first journal he read it slowly and eagerly. He hadn't had as much time to read the first two as he had the third. There still could be hundreds of secrets Ford hid for him to find.

After an hour or so of heavy reading Dipper grew bored. He placed the journals inside safely, and decided he would work on the broken golf cart. He picked up Soos's box of tools and got to work.

It took him quite a while to find the problem, but he discovered a dead squirrel was stuck in the engine. Dipper reluctantly picked up the squirrel in his hands. Apparently the squirrel was not in fact dead. Startled, it bit into Dipper's hand.

"Oww!" He screamed, throwing the squirrel away from himself.

It ran off into the woods without so much as a second glance. Holding his bleeding hand he went inside to find bandages. Opening the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, he took out a small roll of gauze. He swung the cabinet closed.

Dipper quickly swiveled his head looking towards the mirror. He could have sworn he saw something floating by.

"Probably just a moth," Dipper thought as he continued wrapping up his arm.

Once he was finished he placed the bandages back inside the cabinet. He returned to the golf cart outside. Using his arms--noodle arms as Mabel calls them-- he pushed the golf cart back on its bottom.

Even though his arms still looked noodle-like some muscles were visible on Dipper's arms.

Starting its engine, it hummed to life. Dipper smiled at his accomplishment. If only Grunkle Stan were here to see him.

Dipper drove the golf cart into the forest, enjoying the wind in his hair and the smell of the trees.

"It's been a while hasn't it, Gravity Falls?" Dipper asked rhetorically.

"It's been awhile hasn't it, Pine Tree?"

Dipper whirled around looking for the source of the noise. No one was in sight. Not a soul.

"Did I only think I heard that?" Dipper questioned himself.

He listened quietly, but still no noise. Shrugging it off, he restarted the golf cart and sped home. Whatever-- or whoever--said that, Dipper wasn't sticking around to find out.

On his way back Dipper almost ran into a large hand sticking out of the ground. It wasn't just a hand but it was attached to a figure. The figure of Bill Cipher.

Dipper gasped and sped up the golf cart. He wanted to see if the it really was him, if it really was the insane dream demon, but he didn't have the guts in him, and so he just kept driving.
