School Girl

"Okay everyone. Starting today this will be your new sitting arrangement!" Fujita announced, smiling brightly at her advisory class. "Now, I want all of you to know that I didn't just change your seats. I assigned you with your current seats because I think it's the best position for you to improve in your class. And that includes..." the teacher stared at the two students sitting at the very front of the teacher's table.

Kageyama and Shina were seated next to each other.

"Shina-san and Kageyama-kun, the two of you have been flunking in your quizzes, and that is not good for your grades" Fujita lectured, focusing her attention on the two students blankly staring at her. "Kageyama-kun, if you don't do something soon, I'm afraid I have to report this to Takeda-sensei" Kageyama flinched. "I know Inter-High is coming soon, but in order to play in a competition, you must be able to pull up your grades" she lowered her gaze on Kageyama so that she could reach his eye level.

Fujita pulled that intimidating look that seemed to work on Kageyama who promised he'll figure something out. Next, she concentrated on Shina who didn't seem to care at all. "Shina-san, if you don't want me to call your grandmother then I suggest you go do the same" she threatened.

Shina glanced away. "Whatever" she gave a vague answer but it was enough to confirm that she'll do something.

"Good" Fujita smiled, collecting the attendance from the class representative before leaving for her first class this morning.

Shina blew at her bangs, the same time Kageyama did. The two glanced at each other as they did the same thing just now. At first look, Kageyama seemed a bit frightened towards the girl but as he looked at her much longer, he realized that Shina is just an ordinary student just like him. In school, she didn't pull that gangster aura, contradicting to what she said on her first day.

She didn't threatened anyone nor bully someone. In fact, she avoided people and isolate herself often in the areas where no one goes to. At times, Kageyama spotted her at the back of the buildings, and on one occurrence, he saw her in between the vending machine as he was about to get some yogurt milk for himself during lunch. And one time, he caught her sleeping on one of the school's roofs.

"So, you're really going to do something about your grades?" Kageyama suddenly asked, leaning his face on his hands, his elbows resting on his desk.

Shina sent him a glance, without answering, and only replied when her eyes set on her table. "Will you?" she looked back at Kageyama.

Kageyama scoffed, looking irritably at the board. "Of course I will. How am I supposed to participate in the Inter-High when I'm not even allowed to play?" he answered.

"That makes sense" Shina muttered, thinking for a while. "So, you're actually going to study?"

"Obviously, yeah" Kageyama jeered.

As the two spoke to each other, a ball of brown fluff peered through the window of class 1-3 together with a head with messy black hair added with foggy glasses. "Fujita-sensei, your idea of having Shina-san and Kageyama-kun seated together is genius!" Takeda praised, getting excited to see his student, Shina, interacting with another student.

Fujita blushed and smiled appreciatively, "Well, I noticed the two of them are the quietest people in the room. They seldom talk to their other classmates, so when I found out they were acquainted and that Shina-san once saved Kageyama-kun, I thought that if they were seated beside each other, they'll find something to talk about since I find them so alike" she discussed, feeling egotism within her.

"Alike? I don't think it's a good idea to clash their alikeness together since -" Takeda spied on the two again. "-both of them are hot headed and are pretty scary..." he sweat dropped. But, I'm relieved they haven't even started to fight even though they don't like each other.

Hinata walked through the halls of Karasuno, troubled, after finding out how terrible his grades are. He was on his way to the gym when he saw Kageyama walking Shina as she held a stack of papers in her hands. The orange haired boy's jaw dropped, upon seeing the sight before his eyes; Kageyama and Shina conversing casually as if they've gotten used to each other. Well, they are, since they're classmates.

"Ka-Kageyama and Ronin?!" he reacted not in the way a calmed individual would. He shakily ran to the gym where he saw his upperclassmen already throwing some serves and receives at the court. Sugawara had just set the ball for Azumane before he launched a strong spike towards the other court.

Tanaka sipped on his water bottle before noticing the shocked-frantic look on Hinata's face when he came in. "What's wrong Hinata? You looked like you've seen a ghost" he queried the team's decoy as he walked towards him.

Nishinoya had just covered up a spike socked by Ennoshita when he heard Tanaka scream. "Se-Seriously?! Oi Hinata, are you sure you're not hallucinating?" he quizzed the younger boy again, shaking his shoulders uncontrollably.

"I-I wasn't! Kageyama and the Ronin talked like they were best friends and stuff! I even saw her bow to him!" Hinata declared, grabbing his senpai's wrist in hopes of him to be freed.

Upon hearing their conversation, Sugawara approached his two kohai's and asked what the commotion all about was. Tanaka informed him what Hinata had just reported to him as if it was the biggest issue in their school. The ash-colored head sweat dropped, "I don't understand why you're freaking out" he stated, stepping away.

"Don't you understand, Suga-san?! If ever the king, Kageyama, becomes too close with the Ronin; an uprising might happen! Who knows he might use her to be his loyal servant and make her beat us up if we don't listen to his commands?!" Hinata nodded agreeably to Tanaka's assumptions.

Sugawara face palmed, shaking his head dispiritedly. He gave up on the functions of their brains and left Sawamura to handle the two.

"Hinata, Tanaka, aren't you two overacting? I mean, they are classmates. Plus, it won't do us any harm if they ever become friends" Sawamura pointed out, crossing his arms on his chest. "Rather than meddling with his personal life, wouldn't it be better if you practice now so that you could cope up with his god-like tosses?" Sawamura advised, putting his hands on his hips in satisfaction after seeing the realization of the two Karasuno volleyball members. He smirked victoriously, watching the two go back to training, and went back in receiving served balls.

"Wait - Ronin and Kageyama were talking?!" Nishinoya lately reacted.

"You comment about it now?!" Ennoshita exclaimed in disbelief.

On the other hand, Kageyama bid goodbye to Shina after telling her all the things covered in their next lesson. She showed a bow of appreciation before leaving off and going back to the classroom where she'll meet Fujita for her detention again.

Kageyama entered the gymnasium, catching several pairs of eyes glued on him. It made him uneasy and wondered what their problem was. He set his bag on the floor and started on his stretches uncomfortably. He can feel someone glaring at him from behind. Is-Is th-that Noya-san? He sweated bullets nervously. Hesitantly, he turned around to go ask Nishinoya but when he met his stare - "No-Noya-san, what are those demonic eyes for?!"

"No fair Kageyama! I wanted to be close with Ronin first! Yet you're taking advantage just because you're classmates with her!"

"What are you talking about?! Shina was the one who approached me this morning and asked about our lessons!"

"You-You call her Shina now?!"

"Well yes, since that's what she told me to call her!"

Kageyama continued to defend himself as Nishinoya confronted him. He didn't know why he was being accused of something - that doesn't need to be accused of. It was true; Shina did approach him as soon as classes were done. And when he called her Ronin, she immediately directed him to address her as 'Shina'.

"I was already scolded by sensei for introducing myself as Ronin. She says the students considered that as a threat. From now on, refer to me as my surname" is what she said.

Nishinoya silenced after that. "She-She told you that?!" he cried out. Kageyama frowned. "Why would I lie to you about that? Besides, you can call her Shina if you want to. I think she allowed everyone in general to call her that" the genius setter walked away and grabbed him a ball to practice his serves.

Nishinoya stood there quiet and regretted shouting at Kageyama like that. "So-So then Kageyama, what were you guys talking about?" he asked again.

"Seriously?!" Kageyama backed away.

Before anything went worse, Ukai came butting in, and ordered them to continue practice or else he'll triple their training. Afraid, the two did what they were told to and practice blocked spikes and receives. Takeda watched from the bench and thought on how Nishinoya and Shina would grow closer as friends. Rubbing his chin, he remembered Shina still had detention today, where in she'll help Fujita in maintaining her mentored club.

"Alright, everyone! You guys captured nice scenery pictures and a lot of people's photos are really beautiful" Fujita started on her club's meeting for today; the photography club. She stood in front on the platform, while Shina sat at her side. "I'm mostly impressed on Inouye-chan's photos" the brunette started checking on the passed portfolio by the braided haired girl sitting at the back. "I like your motion pictures, and the volleyball club's practices are well pictured - plus..."

Shina peeked behind Fujita. Her eyes widened after catching a glimpse of the practice match she took part in. There was a photo of when she served; and pictures of Hinata and Kageyama's odd-strike ball, Nishinoya's receives and also, a picture where Shina and Kenshin high-fived each other. It made her remember that scene, where for the first time; the scars covering her arms didn't hurt.

Fujita smiled upon remembering the time Takeda told her that story and beamed at Shina. "It was a nice game, wasn't it?" she beamed. Shina looked at her then glanced at the window.

"It was bothersome..." stated the swordswoman. "Adding the fact someone cried because of me, to be exact a girl; and she had to be an upperclassman" unconsciously, the gang leader started ranting. "Receiving balls were making my wrists ache as well, and jumping to spike is too tiring"

The brunette stared at the girl as she continued babbling. She was about to comment on how the girl chatters but something that Shina said made her stop. "But then again, it made my blood boil in excitement for some reason" Fujita gawked at her.

"Shina-san you..."

"But it was still annoying" Shina ranted again. It made the teacher snort out of nowhere, weirding her club members out, but she paid no attention to them. "Shina-san, you tend to be talkative sometimes. Even though you're ranting, I'm surprised you're able to keep a calm nature" Fujita chuckled.

"Is that so?" Shina pondered. "I never noticed..."

"Well, you've been my student for a few months now. I wouldn't be satisfied if I didn't know things about you" Fujita proclaimed then cleared her throat. "Okay. Now that the pictures are all developed, what I want you all to do now is make your own photo album collection. It depends on what you guys want it to be about; or even if you want to give it to someone. I'll leave the decision to you" she announced.

All of her club members shouted a 'yes', understanding her instructions and went to start on their work. Shina was asked to distribute the photos to students again. After that, she went back to her seat and quietly observed the students doing their club activities. They're all busy.

"That reminds me" Fujita spoke up, taking a seat next to Shina. "Shina-san, you haven't applied for clubs yet, have you?"

"I haven't" Shina answered. "I don't want to"

"Eh? How come? Club activities are fun! And they're one of the things you need to join in to create happy memories for high school!" the teacher told her.

Shina briefly looked at her. Create happy memories? She thought mentally. "Are you going to persuade me now?" she predicted.

Fujita flinched. She-She read through me. "We-Well there's no point in denying, so yes. I'll find a way to convince you to join a club! And-And I'll make sure you'll enjoy every second when you join a club of your choice!" she insisted.

Shina was reactionless. She didn't mind joining a club yet she also didn't thought of being in one. She was already involved in gang fights that always seem to happen every other week. But right now, their neighborhood was peaceful. There were no signs of any danger across Miyagi.

"So then, what club do you want to join?" Fujita interviewed Shina, in hopes that she could help the girl pick a club.

Shina shrugged. "I don't have anything in mind" she sighed, "I don't feel like it too"

"If that's the case, then why don't you join the volleyball club? You did mention that the practice match you played at made your blood boil in excitement!" Fujita insisted. "Well?"

"Not interested" Shina declined.

"Sensei, can you check my work?"

"Eh?"

Fujita had to leave Shina for a while to attend to her student's needs this session. She spent the whole afternoon, going around checking their albums. Some diligent students stayed late until the evening, making it late for them to go home. Fujita apologized for keeping Shina in this late hour but the swordswoman assured it was okay, telling, "I go home late all the time. Sometimes, I go to bed early in the morning"

"Se-Seriously?!" Fujita freaked out.

The photography club's president went home around 9 o'clock, together with the secretary and vice president. They thanked Fujita for supervising them and also acknowledged Shina's assistance to them.

"Go home safely!" Fujita reminded, waving a hand to her students. Shina was about to go as well when her teacher grabbed her hand, pulling her back. "Hold on, Shina-san. This way's the exit, why are you heading towards the hallways?"

Shina blinked, retrieving her hand back. "I left my bag in the classroom..." she explained.

"I-Is that so?" Fujita replied. "Then, I'll go with you. I also want to drive you home since I'm the reason why you're still here. You're detention is supposed to be only an hour, but..."

"It's fine sensei, I capable of taking care of myself. You don't need to go with me" Shina assuaged but we all know how persistent Fujita is like her boyfriend - ish, co-worker, Takeda.

Shina ended up accommodated by her teacher and when they reached the school entrance, they saw the boys' volleyball team, just as they were going home.

"Oh, Fujita-sensei, Shina-san, you're going home as well?" Sugawara was the first one to greet them, followed by Sawamura and Azumane.

Fujita teach the art subject in all years, though there are selected students so her handled classes aren't that many. It just so happens that all of the 3rd year in the club were in her class and took interest on her subject.

"Oh, Sugawara-kun, Sawamura-kun, Azumane-kun, going home already?" Fujita smiled kindly at her students. "Where's Kiyoko-chan?"

"She went home ahead of us" Sawamura informed her. His attention set on the girl, standing beside his art teacher. "Ronin..."

"Please, just call me Shina" the Ronin permitted, as soon as she was called by her famous title. "I'm... not the Red Ronin at school. I am Shina Tomoe"

The third years gasp and seemed surprised at what she suddenly said. Shina never introduced herself formally until now. Fujita smiled on how the girl introduced herself in school. Shina-san, you've quite improved.

"I-I see. Then it's nice to meet you Shina-san, I'm Sawamura Daichi. A third year and is the captain of the volleyball club" Sawamura introduced himself. His two other teammates copied as well.

"I'm Sugawara Koushi! The vice-captain! I'm glad to be acquainted with Noya's goddess!" Sugawara enthusiastically greeted.

"Su-Suga! Do-Don't tease her about Nishinoya!" as always, Azumane cowered whenever Shina was around. Sawamura and Sugawara jabbed him at the same time to go introduce himself. "I-I'm Azumane Asahi! I-I am a wing spiker!"

"I see" Shina bowed in acknowledgement. "Sensei, I need to go home" she turned to her teacher.

"E-Eh, wait a minute! L-Let me treat you to dinner at least! You haven't eaten yet!" Fujita held Shina's arm. I-I know! You're all headed to the Foothill store, right, Sawamura-kun?"

"Uh, yes-"

"Good! Then let me and Shina-san join you! The meat buns are on me!" Fujita offered.

"But, sensei..." Sugawara doubted and exchanged glances with Azumane.

"There's no point of protesting. She's pigheaded" Shina mumbled beside Sawamura.

Without further protests, the four of them walked with the 28-year old brunette who hummed happily as she walked with her undergraduates. They reached the store with the lowerclassmen waiting impatiently.

"Daichi-san! What took you guys so long-Ro-Ronin?!"

"It's Shina"

They were all surprised when they appeared walking with the delinquent and her advisor. Fujita bought meat buns for everyone, and handed their share one by one. They enjoyed their snack outside, while sitting on the store's benches while the others stand. "Here" Kageyama handed his classmate an orange drink which she declined.

"Sorry, I don't like juices with pulps" Shina pointed at the texts that state that the juice does contain pulp.

"Is that so?" Kageyama took the bottle back.

"Shina-san!!! Here!" Nishinoya appeared, handing her bottle of tea.

"Um, I don't like tea either" Shina refused to take it as she glanced at the vending machine nearby where Tsukishima inserted a coin for a soda. "I like sodas" she revealed at the same time two drinks dropped for the tall middle blocker.

"Oh, nice Tsukki! You got two sodas!" Yamaguchi commented as Tsukishima drank his soda.

"Here" he tossed the can to Shina, coolly. "I only needed one drink"

"Thanks" Shina said, catching the drink with her bandaged hands.

"Eek! Dammit Tsukishima!" Nishinoya felt defeated and glared at his teammate.

"Sit down already and eat" Shina ordered him, karate chopping his head to sit on the pavement beside the bench she was sitting on with Kageyama and Hinata.

Fujita snickered at the sight of Shina with the rest of the volleyball team. I'm glad I forced her to come!

"They seem to get along well" Sawamura commented, watching the scene with Sugawara who agreeably nodded, smiling.

"Nishinoya blends in with the freshmen!"

With Shina eating, Tanaka made her sit between Kageyama and Hinata after seeing the two glared at each other again. Feeling the trigger of continuous fighting, he made Shina the barrier of the two to prevent them from creating a commotion. He then focused on comforting Nishinoya telling him he'll get his chance in talking to Shina normally.

Meanwhile, from afar, certain gangsters watched as the famous gang leader of Vindex eat meat buns with normal high school students. One of them snorted a laugh and hysterically laughed his ass off, finding it cute that Shina looked like a normal high school girl.

"Man, who knew she can be that cute?" he snickered. "Oh Ronin, oh, man! No wonder that shrimp proposed to her!"

"Raiden! Don't laugh at the Ronin! If she hears that you're spying at her, you're dead!" Nobuo reprimanded the Ronin's right hand as he hold onto his dear stomach.

"Eh? I'm not the only one spying on her! Aren't you and Kohaku doing the same thing?" Raiden reasoned out, making the 13-year old boy, blush.

"Eh? Ra-Raiden-san that's not true! Gi-Gina-san asked me to go check up on her!" Kohaku defended.

"And I'm here because Ronin asked me to guard that shrimp of hers!" Nobuou stated.

"Yeah, sure. Hide the fact that you're swooning over her cuteness" Raiden scratched his stomach, yawning. He then pulled out his phone and aimed it where Shina was sitting.

"Oi, what do you think you're doing?!" Nobuo yelled. "Do you want to get caught?!"

"Nonsense! I'm just saving this moment for Tamotsu and Gina to see!" Raiden says, snapping a picture. As soon as he was done, he smiled seeing the scene that he captured.

Kageyama and Hinata fighting in front of Shina who didn't seem to care at all, and watched them shout at each other while she sips on her soda. Nishinoya was there as well, catching the moment he was staring at Shina with a warm smile.

"Tomoe... Tomoe looks like a normal girl here, doesn't she?" Raiden mused, catching his two comrades' attention. A smile appeared on Raiden's face for a second before it vanished, "But we all know she isn't"

Kohaku looked down. "Well at least... at least for now, make her feel like she can be" he stated and Nobuo couldn't agree more.

A silence crawled between the three of them before Raiden burst out in laughter again. "Wa-Wait -Wait till I show this to Ronin herself!"

"You really want to get killed, don't you?!" Kohaku and Nobuo chorused on how demented Raiden can get.

"School girl Ronin is the best!" Raiden proclaimed knowing his future of getting killed by the Ronin once Kohaku loyally reports it to her. But still, I bet Osami-san smiling right now as she watches over her.
