Chapter 9 ~ Tea or Coffee

"Detective Hanji, I think we need to go get started on the mountain of paperwork, this just caused us."

Hanji's expression immediately went to a slight pout.

"Yes sir. (Y/N), I guess that means you need to hold down that damn prick. I'll get Jean and Marco to watch Mr. Ackerman."

"Hanji."

"Yeah?"

"They're both Ackermans dipshit. Which one am I watching over?"

'For the love of God, don't say-'

"Levi."

"FUCK."

Hani just let that sly smirk of hers creep onto her once pouting lips, as she walked off. You turned around, and there was the exact person you didn't want to see.

"So... I take it you heard that?"

A slight panic ran through you. If this man could do such things to his own flesh-and-blood, what in the hell would he do to someone, who's a practical stranger? You didn't even want to think about that one.

Then, Levi just started walking.

"Hey, I don't know where in fuck's name you think you're going, but you have to chill with me for a little while, man."

Levi seemed to ignore you, as he kept walking his way to the front door.

You had to do something. You couldn't let this asshat out in the open world. So, you jumped in front of him.

You just stood there looking into steel eyes, for a moment. And you just stared.

He didn't really have any other option, so he did the same. You could see the evident traces of bitterness. The pools of seemingly endless desperation to escape his emotions. You didn't know how, but you could see the emotions he tried to hold back. Usually, you couldn't really tell what people were thinking, if it wasn't clear and obvious. But, this was different.

You didn't even care, that you were sitting here, staring into his eyes, like a weirdo.

You rested a hand on his shoulder. You felt him jump a little bit. But, just a tiny lurch.

He wasn't expecting that?

Good, because you weren't either.

"Look, Levi. Why don't you come with me? We have a place, where you can get some coffee, and we can just talk. Okay?"

You smiled kindly at him, to go with your light tone. All you wanted, at this moment, was for this poor man to calm down.

'Poor? What the fuck are you thinking, (Y/n)! Don't you dare fall for that son of a bitch's looks and shit!'

"I don't drink coffee, jackass."

You couldn't help, but to crack the slightest of smiles.

"That's okay, we have tea too."

He nodded, and let you lead the way.

Levi walked into the small, tan room to see only an overused machine that had had its fill with absurd amounts of coffee, no doubt. The only other thing in this atrocious room, was a very small window, covered with a seemingly blue, red, and grey plaid. Immediately, Levi's face scrunched in other repulsion, at the site before him.

Turning around, (Y/n) looked at the horrified man.

"There's no way in hell, I'm going to drink anything that comes out of that shit."
"Then, I guess you'll just be thirsty."
Levi's brow rose at her choice of words.
"With you around, dear, always."

Your jaw was slightly agape.

'Did he really just...'

A smirk was prominent on Levi's face, as he leaned closer to you.

"You wanna satisfy my thirst?"

You stood up, from the uncomfortable chair.

"Why don't I go make you some tea, from something cleaner?"

Without waiting for a response, you walked to the door. The last thing you heard before leaving, was, "Damn brat."

"Someone's hella Bipolar."
