This week we take a look back at our original poeTRY book, and we find this stunning poem from elizabeth19.  An uplifting and heartfelt, free-verse poem with an encouraging sentiment.

Piece of Art
By elizabeth19

She wasn't beautiful by society's standards.
Her teeth weren't perfectly aligned;
Her hair was tied up in a messy bun,
Held in place by a color pencil.
Freckles decorated her skin
Like the way the stars decorated the sky.
But her smile made my heart skip a beat.
Each freckle was a kiss from the sun,
And she smelled of vanilla and the rain.
Maybe she wasn't even pretty,
But she was like a piece of art;
And art isn't supposed to be pretty,
It's supposed to make you feel something.
And she did exactly that.

Busted Gulch Vol. 15 Update:

CG enjoyed her bath, so glad to be back in Busted Gulch.  When the Sheriff left in a hurry with Billy, she got dressed and wanted to find some answers to why everyone was acting so strange.  She went in search for Rue, but Rue was no where to be found.  Lotta, Ron and Gyn all greeted and congratulated her, but she was unable to get any answers out of them either.  Before any more questions could be asked the fire alarm sounded and everyone headed out into the streets.

the drop
by amankanti

When the graceful pearl fell on the earth,
The peacock danced in glory
The trees lush green,
As it descended back to it's home
For once it knew it was not alone.

the geese
By orkneyman

a thousand thousand wings pounding
southward bound at Gaia's will
stretched across a twilight sky
their haunting cry upon the wind

a thousand thousand hearts beating
to the rhythm of their Mother's love
calling in surrender
to the catechism of life

Desert
By janhavikhatri

Desert with silky smoothy parts
Lovely dances Arabic bars
Belle dancers dancing on the blessed parts
Leaving the trails as it sails
Windy airs make the heart fair
Blessing flies many miles
Leaving the face with smiles
Messages are delivered of love and cries
I bow down before the pride sand
Thanking for spreading the universal languages of land

I always want to encourage everyone to spread joy and light whenever they can, but I also want to remind everyone that if you ever need to receive joy because you are feeling lost or alone, please reach out to someone.  We are a family here at the Pub and that means we care and look out for one another.  So, if you are having a hard time, don't stay in the dark alone, find someone that has a "flashlight" and ask them to walk with you until you can get a charge back in yours.

I hope everyone has a super-duper fantastic week!!
Remember to... keep those pens and keyboards flying!!

Cheers from you Mystres of Chatter
