Hello Pubbers!!

I hope you all have had a productive week!!  Here at the Pub we have some exciting news and there is more to come.

Before we get into our weekly announcements I would like to share our super-duper exciting news with you!!!

The Poets Pub has opened its second location!!!  We would like to present....Drum Rollll....

Our new sister site is now live and we encourage all of our Pub members to head over there and show sonakshisrivastava some love by following and leaving her an encouraging message.

We hope to have many collaborations with this new sister site, starting with a crossover competition to be announced soon.

We want this to be just the first of many other sister sites for the Poets Pub.  One day we will have a Poets Pub on every conrner!!

We will be having a GRAND OPENING soon, so be on the lookout for the announcement!!

Meet Our New Hostess!!

We want to give AmbergrisJane a warm welcome to the Poets Pub team.  Amber has joined us as our newest team member and will be serving as our resident Jolly Spin Doctor, specializing in Cheerology!!  She is here to help answer questions, greet new Pubbers and be a general source of Poets Pub Cheer!  Let's all give her big hand and three cheers!! Writer's Handbook:

This week we had a great instalment in our Writer's Handbook from CottonJones (Olan L. Smith).  This article gives the basics of how to write the haiku/senyune.  It is some great information and I encourage everyone to stop by and read it as well as letting Olan know how much we appreciate his time and wisdom.

Personal Announcements:

We really want this to become more like a family; please do not hesitate to send any personal announcements in that you would like to share with us.  If you do not want to share your exact birth date with us just let us know what month it is in so we can celebrate with you.  If you have passed your finals let us know so we can give you a virtual high five, if you are going through a hard time and just need everyone to keep you in their thoughts let us know as well.  We want the Pub to be your home away from home.

Finally remember to send us any personal announcements you would like me to include in the Chatter, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc.  Just message me here at the Pub and I will be sure to get it in the Chatter.

Our April contest has taken off like a shot!!  We have an amazing variety of incredible poems coming in.  Please remember that you are allowed to enter two (2) poems this month so feel free to get a second one in if you haven't done so.  You can find all of the particulars about this month's contest here:

Team Member Needed:

We are still looking for a graphics designer to help here at the Pub to design our cover art.  If you are interested or know anyone that might be interested please don't hesitate to send us a PM and let us know.

NEW BUSINESS:

We would like everyone to know that Bill has designed some very handsome certificates that we will be sending out to those who win our monthly contests.  They will have your name, the name of the poem and you can print them out to display the proudly.  We will also be designing special certificates for the Pubber of the Year winners as well.

MYNA'S MUSINGS

We are entering spring here in the States and the weather is becoming glorious, the flowers are starting to bloom and the trees are coming back to life.  With this in mind I give you this week's poetry prompts.

Prompts:

Prompt#1 – Write a poem about your favorite flower but do not use the name of the flower.

Prompt#2 – Write a poem about the rebirth of nature in spring, include any/all aspects of flora and fauna.

Prompt#3 – Write a haiku about spring.

New Challenge:

The storytellers-saloon is also hosting another writing contest this month.

It is an April Fools writing challenge.  Stories must be between 500 – 2000 words long and you have until April 30th to get your submissions in.  To find out all about it head over to the Saloon.
