The third article has been posted for our new Writer's Handbook. This one was written by our own Bill Temple. This article gives Bill's unique look on the art of writing poetry as well as some very practical information on how to write from the heart. I believe you will find it very informative.

NEW BUSINESS:

Many of you may know that Wattpad's official poetry community has been inactive for quite some time now, but I am happy to announce that they have it up and running again. They have their first contest up and running and hope to have many more contests to come. If any of you are interested you can check them out here:

MYNA'S MUSINGS:

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I would like to offer up a few more prompts following this theme.

PROMPTS:

Prompt #1 – Write a poem about a St. Patrick's Day party here at the Pub. What kind of decorations would we have up? Would we be serving green beer? What would we be doing?

Prompt #2 – Write a poem about being lucky without using the word "luck or lucky".

Prompt #3 – Write a St. Patrick's Day Limerick.

DOWN AT THE SALOON:

It seems that there are some changes going on over in Busted Gulch. The bakery has now become a full café and Miss Darkly has taken on a new partner. Crazy Goose has gotten her memory back and we are still waiting on word from Rue and Jasper to see if Rue is okay. Stop by and check it out for yourself here:

I have been a little indisposed over the last little while, but hopefully I am back again to help Myna out.

She has done s simply amazing job in my absence and I think she deserves a huge Poets Pub Cheer, for her amazing contributions to the Pub.

As I look around I see that our Poem a Day Challenge is still alive, but our collection here at the Pub is a little sparse. We have over 5,000 members. We should have 3 volumes filled by now.

So ... send in those poems, Pubbers. Even if you are not a part of the challenge, send us a Poem so we can catch up and get ahead of this thing.

PUB GREETER

We are looking for a couple friendly people to join our ranks as Pub Greeters. 

It is a pretty simple job.

Just cruise around the Pub and welcome people to our friendly confines and help out in any way you can.

This position can lead to a staff position here at the Pub, so if that might be a goal of yours, lets get you started on the right foot.

There are other Poetry sites opening up out there and I see that even WP has rejuvenated their Poetry site.

We have to stay united and strong through this, as every time these sites pop up, we seem to lose members.

SO.

What do we have to do to keep the interest going here at the Pub.

I want all of you to put on your thinking hats and come up with some ideas. No idea is too crazy or insignificant. 

Just send the ideas via private message and we will post them each week in the Chatter here. Lets bring some excitement back to the Pub.
