@MeghanBarnhouse
@Anjalisinha
@AutumnElf555
@TheWizardStyles
Let's show them some Poets Pub love, by checking out their work. Also, there is still time to join in the fun if anyone has a mind to.
Lastly, we want to let y'all know about some of the goings on over at the @Storytellers-Saloon, Poets Pub's sister sight.
The newest edition of Busted Gulch Vol. 3 has started, you can find it here: http://my.w.tt/UiNb/qKQ1BoI3py This is the continuing saga of the western town of Busted Gulch and the crazy antics that go on. When you get a chance take a gander at this fun series and see what new things are in store for Sheriff 3Guns and the other residents of Busted Gulch.
The Storytellers Saloon also has a truly innovative new project going called Stories Around the Globe http://my.w.tt/UiNb/f3mEyXh4py and it is a collection of stories from authors around the world written in their native language. They are looking for more submissions, so if you think this might be something you're interested in please head over there and check it out.
Moving on...
OLD BUSINESS:
"A Pub Christmas", which can be found here - http://my.w.tt/UiNb/KNQr8zhZmy
is still looking for more submissions. Did I hear someone in the back say they don't celebrate Christmas? Well no worries! There are many different holidays this time of year, so share with us how you celebrate. We want to hear from you all.
A few people have also taken up the challenge issued last week to come up with your own take on the "12 Days of Christmas", they can also be found in "A Pub Christmas". We would love to have more of you join in on this festive challenge!!
Seeing no further old business we will move on.
NEW BUSINESS:
This week I hope you all were lucky enough to observe the super moon. This is the closest the moon has been to us this century and it won't happen again until 2034! So in honor of this cosmic event, I would like to feature is delightful book from the Pub Library:
Moon Limerick
http://my.w.tt/UiNb/IwsXQr4Ymy
This collection is a fun filled orbit around the moon. It includes a concert with the Rolling Stones, moon cheese, cowboys wrangling cattle, and a hair stylist all in the poetic form of the Limerick.
For any of you who are not familiar with is style of poetry, please let me introduce it to you:
There once was a man from the Pub
Who like to sing in the tub
But his voice was not clear
He drank too much beer
Hence why his wife gave him the rub
This poetry style dates back to early 18th century England and Ireland and it generally contained "lewd" or "bawdy" subjects. It is comprised of five lines with the rhyme scheme of AABBA. Typically all of the lines contain five to seven syllables.
So let's see what ya'll can come up with to add to this Limerick laden lunar lunacy.
Remember all submissions should be sent by private message to the Poets Pub and MUST include your screen name, the collection you want it published in, and the title of the poem. If you have any questions please ask.
Finally we have this week's poetry prompts:
Next week here in America we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. All of us have people and things we are thankful for.
Prompt #1 – Write a poem about what you are thankful for, include anything and everything.
Prompt #2 – Let's have a bit of fun, imagine you could be a cartoon character, tell us who it would be and why. Have fun with it, think of all the things you could do as a toon.
Prompt #3 – Give us your best Limerick about the Poets Pub.
Well that is it for this week. I hope you all have a safe and productive week ahead. I want you all to know I am thankful for each and every one of you!
Meeting adjourned!
Happy Writing!!
Cheers from your Mystres of Chatter

The last word ...
Another great chapter in the on going story of the Pub Chatter. As always our own Mystres of Chatter is doing a great job.
With regards to the #200poemchallenge , please take a moment and drop by your fellow Pubbers and give them some support. It is a real challenge to produce that number of poems in such a short time.
Also, I would like to encourage others here in the Pub to take up the challenge, even at this later date.
The idea behind this challenge is not necessarily to finish the challenge but to challenge yourself to write.
and write.
and write
and write.
Use this opportunity to let your imagination flow and just write about anything that comes to mind. The poems only have to be 12 lines (minimum) so they are not epic poems.
It is a great exercise in writing and I personally encourage more to join the challenge. Don't overthink the poems, just write whatever comes to mind.
Also continue to check the Results from the competition to see if you have a chance to make it to the final write off in December, for Pubber of the Year. We still have not heard back from some of you, so if you plan to compete, you MUST let us know, before the competition begins.
On a personal note, our very own co-founder, @ElizabellaJones has earned her Masters.
She had her defence on the 16th and gave an amazing performance that was applauded by the judges.
So lets raise our glasses to Bella and give her a huge Pub congratulation on a job well done.
We are all proud of you Bella.
Up next for Bella.
Phd in May. Best of luck.
Even though our competitions are completed for the year, (except for the Pubber of the Year), we still have collections looking for submissions.
Lets get them filled.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Look up and you will see the ones I am talking about.
Anyway, thats it from the old dude.
Have a great week all and here's a toast from me.
Bill
