@katedianakaplan I want all of you to meet someone extremely special. Meet @avi_kaplan and I's newly adopted son, Zion Abram Kaplan. Zion has been in and out of foster care his entire life but finally at 19 years old, he has a forever family in us. 💜 Zion always wanted a family. He always wanted loving parents and siblings to be his best friends.

Zion also wanted to finally be his authentic self. Zion was assigned female at birth and he has known his true identity ever since he was a young child. However, due to being in foster care for his whole life he was unable to affirm his gender and be his authentic self. This has caused lots of mental health struggles. But now, he can be himself and he is the happiest he has ever been he told us. It is truly amazing how you can see someone change and become happy right before your eyes when they can live the life and be who they always were.

Avi and I are helping Zion during his transition, getting him everything he will need and wants in order to be himself. We do this because we love him, he's our son and he'll always be. ❤️ Zion has started testosterone and is getting prepared for top surgery in a few months, something he has wanted since he started puberty. This will most likely after he graduates high school.

Zion is a senior in high school and will finally graduate, something he deserves to be able to do, just like everyone else. Zion hasn't been able to get a proper education due to being in many foster homes all over the country. When Zion came to our home, we all worked so hard to make sure he was caught up and ready for his senior year. He is getting straight A's and is set to graduate this spring! We are so excited and so is Zion! 🎓

@katedianakaplan Zion has blessed @avi_kaplan and I with a beautiful granddaughter named Charlotte Kate Kaplan. 💖 When we adopted Zion, he changed Charlotte's name. He added a middle name Kate, after me and changed her last name to match his and match all of us.

We met Zion and Charlotte back when Charlotte was a few weeks old at the group home they were staying in. Avi and I fell in love with them both and we knew they had to be in our family somehow. Zion has told us that he felt something when he met Avi and I and wanted to know us more. The rest is history. Now I'm a grandma aka Lolli while Avi will be Pop. Charlotte, we love you so much sweet girl 💖
