The next morning, Alana woke up around six o'clock. She had decided that she wanted to go to work again. Being that her and Laurent were both absent from the facility yesterday, it would seem suspicious if she stayed home any longer. It was light out when she got up, and she sat up slowly, sliding Laurent's arm off of her waist. She was still bare from the waist down from last night, and a little smile formed on her face. She stood slowly, her eyes searching the floor for her underwear. Once she found them, she grabbed them, sliding them up her legs quickly. She looked over at Laurent who was still sleeping. His was lying on his side, and his twists were splayed across his face, light snores leaving his lips.
She smiled warmly at the sight of him, butterflies forming in her stomach. She really did love that man, which was unnatural for her. He loved her back, though, and that meant the most to her. Sighing, she walked over to her dresser, opening it quietly. She took out her godforsaken uniform and she scowled at it, dreading the thought of leaving the comfort of Laurent. She closed her drawers quietly, making sure she didn't wake up Laurent, but she failed.
"Baby?" He said tiredly, sitting up slowly. "Why you up so early?"
"I'm going to work," she responded, turning around slowly. Laurent's eyes scanned her body, drinking in the sight of her beautiful body before he realized what she said.
"What?" He asked, squinting at her.
"I have to go back, Laurent," she sighed. "If I don't, it'll seem suspicious if the both of us are gone and the doctor is dead."
He shrugged nonchalantly, frowning deeply. "I don't care. I won't let anything happen to us, chéri."
"I know," she smiled, walking over to the bed. She leaned down, pressing a kiss to his lips. Laurent reached up and he grabbed her neck, pulling her back onto the bed with him.
"I have to get ready," Alana laughed as Laurent peppered her face with kisses. He didn't acknowledge her as he began to attack her neck, giggles leaving her lips one after the other.
"Stop it," she grinned, pushing his face away. Laurent sighed and he pouted, crossing his arms across his chest. He leaned his head against the headboard, rolling his eyes childishly. Alana looked up at him and she poked his face a bit, but he didn't respond. He looked down at her with narrowed eyes and he sighed exasperatedly before looking away from her again.
"Laurent," she said. "Look at me."
"No."
She grinned and she thought for a moment, tapping her index finger against her chin.
"Look at me, please?"
Laurent hesitated for a moment, not wanting to break by looking at her beautiful face. He did it anyway, but the fave he saw want beautiful, it was one of the most weirdest ones he'd ever seen. He burst out laughing after that, and Alana laughed as well, watching as his shoulders shook with laughter. Laurent looked down at her as she laughed, and he could feel himself swooning over her and her beautiful laughter. She looked so cute lying in his lap, with her lingerie still on from last night, but her body curled into a ball as she laughed. He really didn't want her to leave him.
"Do you really have to go?" He said after the laughter died down, looking at her with pleading eyes.
"Yes, baby," she said. "But when I come back, I'll be all yours."
Laurent smiled wide and he grabbed her neck again, pressing a passionate kiss to her lips. He grinned as they broke apart and he bit his lip, licking them afterwards.
"You always been mine, baby."

"Where the hell have you been?!" Crystal damn near screamed as Alana entered the nurses station. Alana flinched a little bit and she sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"I wasn't feeling well, Crystal -"
"Laurent got out, Alana," Crystal sighed, tugging at the roots of her hair. Alana looked at Crystal, who looked genuinely worried, and she tried her best to look worried. She gasped a little bit, shaking her head and running her hand through her hair again.
"How the hell could that happen?" She asked, the images of that night flashing through her head.
"I don't know," Crystal said. "He killed Dr. McClain. I found him dead in his office the day you weren't here. There was so much blood, Alana. And his face... it was unrecognizable."
Alana blinked rapidly as she pictured the events that went down that night. She could still see all the blood. She could hear the sound of his skull cracking against the corner of the wall, and the sounds that emitted from Laurent as he did it. Looking back, Laurent was at his worst. He wouldn't even hesitate to kill anyone. Hell, he got into her head a little too much to the point where she wanted the doctor dead more than he did. Laurent wasn't that person anymore, though. He was so sweet, and broken, but he was happy around her. Alana felt like she was his calm during the storm. He hadn't even tried to lay a finger on her, and he never even talked about hurting anyone anymore. He was the person he used to be, before all of his pain, and she loved it more than anything. She loved him more than anything.
"What?" Crystal frowned, tilting her head to the left.
"What?" Alana asked, snapping back to reality.
"Did you say you love him?"
Alana shook her head wildly, not even realizing what she had said aloud. "I never said anything."
Crystal frowned, eyeing Alana carefully. She shrugged it off, though, much to Alana's relief. She sat down at her desk and Alana followed suit, logging onto her computer. Alana wondered what doctor was taking Dr. McClain's place now. He wasn't the only doctor that worked at Henderson's, but he was the main one that worked on her floor. She never really spoke to any of the others ones, being that she never really saw any of them much.
"By the way," Crystal said, turning towards Alana. "Matthew came back today."
Alana's neck damn near broke when she looked over at Crystal, a frown taking over her features. "What?"
"Yeah," Crystal shrugged. "He told me the reason he took time off was because he got hurt on the job. I don't know what could've hurt him, though."
Laurent.
Alana looked down at her fingers, picking at her nails nervously. She noticed that she did that a lot, whenever she was anxious or scared, and she was scared now. With Matthew back at the hospital and Laurent gone, she didn't know what could happen. Alana didn't say anything after that, not that Crystal cared. Crystal wasn't worried about Matthew either. She didn't like him at all. She took note that Alana looked scared at the mention of Matthew and she tapped her softly, causing Alana to look over at her.
"He won't bother you, okay?" Crystal said reassuringly. Alana nodded slowly, but that wasn't what bothered her. Matthew was one to get revenge. Half of the staff they had there were just replacements for other staff members that got fired because of Matthew. She was scared that he would take his anger out on her for something Laurent did, and she feared for her safety. She wished she had just stayed home and let everyone think what they wanted, but she didn't want Laurent to get caught with her.
I'll be okay, Alana thought to herself, even though she didn't believe it herself.

The day went by faster than Alana had suspected, and it was kind of strange to see her patients again. Samantha wasn't herself anymore, and neither was Agnes. They both just looked so out of it, as if they've gone days without sleep. Alana felt bad that she hadn't checked in with the earlier, but as long as they were still living, she figured that was the least bit okay. The best part was not running into Matthew at all, and that was one big weight lifted off of her shoulders.
Alana was the last one at the nurses station when everyone left, and she let out a yawn as she stared at her computer screen. She felt like she had been dragging herself all over the place, and she made it clear that she didn't want to be there. Her shift had just ended though, and she didn't even blink before she began to pack her things.
"I missed you," a voice said from behind her, causing her to jump. She knew exactly who it was and she ignored him, continuing to grab her things. A sigh left his lips and she could feel shivers running up her spine. She could already tell it wasn't going to end good, but she hoped it would end quick.
"I was expecting to see Laurent today," Matthew said, tsk-ing as he walked into the nurses station, his eyes running along Alana's body. He licked his lips slowly, a smirk appearing on his face.
"I don't care," Alana muttered as she picked up her bag, shoving her jacket inside of it. She turned around, coming face to face with a smug looking Matthew, a scowl taking over her features. She felt uneasy standing in front of him, watching as his eyes looked anywhere but hers. "Why couldn't you just stay home? It was far more peaceful without you here."
"You know I had to come see my favorite nurse again," he said lowly. "And I came to say that your boyfriend is the reason why I had to leave."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Alana spat.
"He beat me up," Matthew muttered. Alana could feel a laugh begin to form in the pit of her stomach, but she kept the same look on her face. "So I'm going to get him back."
"You wouldn't be able to because she got out, dumbass," she spat.
"You know what I'm talking about," he said, stepping closer to her. Alana watched as his hand went to reach for his crotch and he gripped it tight, causing Alana to nearly throw up in her mouth.
"Leave me alone, creep," she said, attempting to walk past him. Before she could, he grabbed her arm forcefully and she yelped as he threw her against the desk, causing her to drop her bag on the floor.
"I'm not asking," he said before he raised his hand, punching her in her lip. Alana cried out, covering her mouth quickly as tears poured out of her eyes. She looked up at Matthew as he grabbed her legs forcefully, trying to pry them apart.
"Get the hell off of me!" She screamed, her hands flying up to claw at his face. Matthew grunted and he dodged her hits, his fingers gripping onto the waistband of her scrubs. Alana cried out again and she kicked her legs against him, trying to create as much distance between them as she could. Her attempt failed as he grabbed her waist, flipping her over on her stomach.
Alana was scared for her life at this point. She knew what was going to happen, but she prayed when could do something to prevent it from getting as far as it would. She prayed that someone was working as late as her and they saw him trying to hurt her. Hell, she even prayed that a patient was walking around and that they would try to interfere with the situation. But no matter how many times she prayed, nobody was around to hear her. Not even a nurse or anything.
"Stop!" Alana screamed, hot tears streaming down her face. "Please, stop! Get off of me! Someone help -"
A smack echoed through the halls and she cried loudly, whimpers leaving her lips.
"Shut up!" Matthew shouted, pulling her pants down to her knees. Alana began to squirm under him and she cried out again, feeling the metal part of his belt rubbed against her thigh.
"Matthew, please don't," she cried, still squirming under him.
"You," Matthew chuckled. "Have some nerve begging me to stop."
Matthew reached for her underwear and that's what she really started to fight back, trying her best to get away from him. Matthew grabbed her hair in his hand and he lifted her head up, slamming her head back down on the desk hard. Alana yelped and she squeezed her eyes shut, a river of tears pouring out of her eyes. She heard ringing in her ears and she held her head tightly, warm liquid flowing onto her fingers. She began to sob hysterically as she felt something enter her forcefully, causing a sharp pain to emit form the outside of her entrance. Her body began to rock against the desk and she still tried to move away from him, but her body was weak now, and she couldn't even focus anymore. Her vision was blurred and all she could hear was the disgusting sounds escaping Matthew's lips. She began to zone out and put herself somewhere that wasn't where she was, and think about something other than the guy she hated most taking advantage of her.
Maybe Laurent would come in and save her. Maybe he followed her when she drove to work, and he was watching her to make sure she was okay. Maybe he'd pop out of nowhere and grab Matthew and snap his neck in two. But he didn't. He was at her apartment where she could've been at if only she'd stay home when he begged her to.
Matthew was finished with her no more than five minutes later and he pulled out of her, letting semen hit the floor. He fixed himself quickly before he grabbed Alana by her neck, throwing her on the floor, a cry escaping her lips. His assault didn't end there. He began to kick her, and punch her, beating her as if she was a man. Alana couldn't even cry anymore so she just let it happen, praying that God would just take her already. But he didn't, and all she could feel was the air leaving her lungs and blood trickling down her face.
"Next time," Matthew spat. "Don't sick your bitch boyfriend on me."
With that said, he kicked her one last time before storming off, leaving Alana in a pile of her blood and tears.
