The 13 year old boy sat on the swing with a smile , people looked at him funny

Why is he smiling when he has no friends ? No one understood his pained life , It wasn't as bad as most peoples but for him .. He was alone

No big brother or sister to look after him and assure him he will be okay, no little brother or sister for him to look after and assure them that it will be okay

No

But he had one thing , one thing that accompanied his lonely life , his beautiful white baby rabbit

It was no longer a baby now since it was with him since the age of 8 gifted to him by his beautiful mother who passed away due to the sickness of cancer

He was too young to lose his mother yet old enough to remember her which ate at him everyday , what would his life be like if she was still alive to watch him play on the swings ?

His father who fell in major depression because of his mothers death , his father looked at him with red eyes everyday

"You look just like your mother ..." His father always muttered which in turn made the little boy cry , he did .. He looked just like his mother , the cute little bunny teeth he inherited was from her

He cried but his beautiful bunny always found a way to make him smile , climbing his shoulder and snuggling into the crook of his neck and he would whisper to his little rabbit "its okay ..we're okay" he felt responsible for the rabbits well being

Thinking its his mother watching him through the stunningly brown doe eyes of this little fluff ball , he swore to take care of his best friend and never let anyone hurt it

He smiled on the swings because even after many years of owning this little rabbit he never quite found a name for it but that day .. He found a name

He couldn't wait to get home , without second thoughts he jumped off the swings with a thump, his bunny teeth on full display

His puffy black jacket falling off one shoulder as he grabbed his school bag and headed for his home where he couldn't wait to get a hold of his best friend , give it a tight hug and kiss on its twitching nose which always made his heart melt

He ran down the familiar street and to the corner of a wooden house which looked kind of slanted and droopy , it once looked so petite but now it stood grumpy

He shook his head of all negativity and smiled regardless , he pushed the door to the house open with much impatience as he ran to the sink to fill a glass of water , he was parched from all the running

He gulped down the entire cup in 3 sips and wasted no more time , but he started to realise that the kitchen was a mess , the chairs were turned over and the cupboards emptied of all its contents and sprawled on the floor

He dropped his bag and walked slowly into the lounge where he saw that even the lounge was like a warzone , the coaches were torn and the TV was smashed

He gulped as he looked down the hallway where his room door was slightly ajar with a broken door knob , the house suddenly took on a dark shade as he passed a few doors and in each room he saw the same horrific scene of broken somethings

He pushed his room door open and even his room was a mess but he didn't care , the first thing he looked at was the play pen at the end

It seemed fine so he let out a breath and casually walked over to it

He suddenly stopped and fell to the floor when he saw ... His beloved rabbit sprawled on the floor , limp and lifeless , its eyes closed

A deep cut wound in its stomach , blood stained its white coat , he reached for it but retracted his hands because of how it shook wildly

Fat droplets fell down his cheeks as he bit his lips from screaming , he rubbed the dead things head but it didn't move or hop nor did it twitch its nose in excitement

He couldn't hold it in anymore as he grabbed the little thing and held it to his chest and sobbed loudly "don't leave me .... Don't .." He started to hiccup , his nose turned a bright red as he cried

"Faith ..." He uttered its name , it didn't respond

"DONT LEAVE ME~ IM ALL ALONE" he cried ....

Not only did the little boy lose faith and hope , he lost his sanity....he now hated pathetic humans , if it was so easy to take an animals life without second thought then he will take human lives without a thought
