Elevator

Hi and you're welcome

Millie's pov

I walked into school the next day, knowing it wasn't going to be a normal day.

I walked to my locker and opened it, when I felt my sunglasses get knocked off of my face, and someone took them. I closed my eyes.

"Give them back." I said, and I heard everyone start talking to the guy, whoever is with them.

"Why? Afraid to let your inner bug out?" He asked, and I didn't open my eyes.

"Just give them back." I said, and they laughed.

"Open your eyes then, freak."

I sighed, and opened my eyes, and everyone laughed. Not surprised.

It was a guy I didn't know. With two other guys.

He held them out for me, and I tried to take them, but he put them above his head, way too far out of my reach.

"Give them back, or you'll regret it." I heard someone say, and the two guys ran away, and the other guy yelled at his friends to come back. He just gave the glasses back to me, and ran to them.

"Thanks Caleb." I said, and he nodded.

"Are you okay?" He asked, and I nodded.

"Just annoyed." I said, and he nodded.

"All of them are just jerks." He said, and I nodded.

Sadie walked up to us, taking Caleb's hand, and smiling.

"Hey, ready for the field trip?" She asked, and I nodded.

-

We were on the bus, I was sitting next to Sadie, and Caleb was across from us, with Finn. Noah and Gaten were behind us, jack with Noah and Lizzy with Gaten.

We got to the place, and we got out, and I stayed with Sadie. We waited in line for a bit, and we got in.

It was like a theatre, and we got situated in our seats, I was on the end, Sadie to my left, Finn on the other side of Sadie, and everyone else was down the row.

Sadie was talking to me about how much she loves Hamilton, and then the lights went dark, motioning us to be quiet.

A teacher was walking down the row, and looked at us.

"Can you three go check to see if there are any kids upstairs?" She asked, and we nodded. Sadie, Finn and I got up and walked over out of the theatre room, to the elevator.

"Why would there be kids upstairs?" I asked, and they shrugged.

We got in, and then clicked the up button.

"I'll be right back," Sadie said, walking out of the elevator.

"Sadie!" Finn and I both yelled, as it shut. Leaving us alone in the elevator.

I was standing in front of the elevator doors, and Finn was leaning against the railing, behind me.

I heard it going up, but then I heard rattling. The rattling was loud, and then it stopped. So did the elevator.

"What just happened?" I asked, looking up at the elevator floor we were on. The numbers weren't on, the lights for showing which one we were on weren't there.

I tried to press the elevator buttons, but they didn't light up either.

"Oh my god, we're stuck." I said, and turned to Finn, and he furrowed his eyebrows, and walked over to the buttons, and tried them.

"Fuck." He said, and I went to the corner of the elevator, breathing heavily.

"Hey, it's okay." Finn said, sitting down in front of me.

"Just take a breath, someone will get us out." He said, and I nodded.

-

"Finn, it's literally been an hour. Nobody is coming." I said, and he sighed.

"Well they have to eventually." He said, and looked at me.

He hasn't seen my eyes. I don't want to show him, he might be freaked out.

"Since we are alone, could we just talk about what happened?" He asked, and I looked at him.

Iris?

"About Iris?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Okay well, she took me out in the hallway, and she was convincing me that I still had feelings for her and stuff. But I don't, which I kept saying to her. But she came on to me, I kissed back for like a second, and then I pulled back and yelled at her for kissing me. I swear, I don't have feelings for her Millie." He said, and I looked in his eyes.

"Then why'd you kiss her back." I said, lowly.

"I don't know. Well, I do, but you wouldn't understand." He said, and I raised my eyebrows.

"Why wouldn't I understand?" I asked.

"Because you're a girl." He said, and I sighed. We were still sitting on the elevator, facing each other.

"I get it, she's prettier than me, she's actually normal, and she is just ten times more than I could ever be. So I'm assuming that's why." I said, and he looked at me.

"Millie, stop bringing yourself down all the time. You're amazing." He said, and I rolled my eyes, which he couldn't see.

"Am I though? I got bullied all my life, which led to anxiety, which led to my psychosis and schizophrenia, which led to whatever my dad always did to me, which led me here, and now my eyes aren't even human like, they are ugly. Just like me. And now people are too scared to even look at me, and I don't even know if they are ever going to go back to normal. It scares me. So I understand when people call me a bug, I really do. So I'm not amazing, Finn. I'm weird, and I get more weird as the days go on." I said, and Finn shook his head.

"You're my version of amazing. You need to stop caring about what other people think. It makes your life so much better. And your eyes aren't the only thing about you, so it's not like your whole life is ruined because of them. I bet they look cool. And you're weird Millie. There are different types of weirds, and everyone is weird. But you're the best kind of weird." He said, and I smiled.

"Thanks Finn." I said, and he nodded. My smile left my face, and he looked at my sunglasses.

"Can I?" He asked softly, talking about the sunglasses. I hesitantly nodded, and he moved his hands up to my sunglasses, and took them off, and he looked into my eyes.

"Woah," He said, loud and pretending to fall back a little.

"This is why I didn't want to show you-

"You're beautiful."

I looked at him, and he was smiling at me. I lightly smiled.

"Really?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Definitely." He said, and I had a light smile on my face. I felt his hands with mine, his warming my cold ones.

"So are we good again?" He asked me.

"Are you sure you want to have a thing with a girl with literally black eyes?" I asked, and he nodded.

"I just won't know if you're looking at me or looking at my lips." He said, and I laughed.

"So you have an advantage." He said, and I laughed again.

"I'm looking at them right now." I said, and he raised his eyebrows.

"Does that mean you want to kiss me?" He asked, and I smiled.

"Yes, it does." I said, and he smiled. We both started to lean in, until we felt the elevator move, going up.

"I guess they fixed it?" He questioned, and I nodded.

He got up and helped me up, and put the sunglasses back on my face.

"Just saying, you're beautiful without the sunglasses." He said.

"Hm." I said, and he smiled, as the elevator door opened, and we got out of the elevator, back into the theatre.

Sadie was sitting in Finns spot, so I just sat next to Sadie and Finn sat next to me. I held his hand, and leaned my head on his shoulder, his head on top of mine.

I guess we are okay now.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Okay, I have bad news, news you guys aren't going to like.

The ending of this story is going to be sad.

Sorry, but I can't change it because it's already in writing. Idk when the end will be, but there will be plenty more chapters.
