Bug

Oops.

Millie's pov

I walked into school with Sadie the next day, and I went to my locker, opening it, and talking to Sadie.

"So you're not together anymore?" She asked.

"We were never together, it wasn't official. We are just ending our thing that we had." I said, and she nodded.

"I don't know why Finn would kiss her back, but he had to of had a reason. He really cares for you, Mills." Sadie said, and I nodded.

"We are still friends." I said, and she nodded.

-

I walked into spanish, walking down my row, which I have to pass Finn to get to my seat.

I sat down and set all my stuff down, and he turned around and faced me.

"Hi." He said, and I lightly smiled.

"Hey." I said, and he looked down to my desk.

We both still have our bracelets on.

"Have you heard about the trip we are taking tomorrow?" He asked, and I shook my head no.

"Our grade is going to this theater thing to see a play. It's supposed to be a cool play or something." He said, and I nodded.

"Cool." I said, and he nodded.

He looked up into my eyes, and I looked into his. He has this expression in them. One I've never seen before. It was a soft one, but there was another emotion in them which I didn't know.

The teacher started talking, so he turned around to face her.

-

We were sitting down at lunch, talking about the field trip tomorrow.

"I heard it's something like Hamilton," Noah said, and then Sadie started ranting of how much she loves Hamilton.

I looked up to a door leading to the hallway, to see something black. I think it was that damn hand again.

It slowly slid out of the door.

"I'll be right back." I said, and they nodded. I walked over to the door, and out to the hallway, where I saw nothing.

I heard a clicking sound, and looked all the way down the hallway, to see a man standing there.

He started laughing. A low laugh.

The laugh started to deepen way too deep for a human to make that kind of voice, and my heartbeat quickened.

It wasn't human anymore, it was turning black, and tall.

We have you, Millie.

I blinked, and it went from the end of the hallway to right in front of my face. I fell onto the ground from surprise, and sat my arms up, and it was at my face.

It felt cold sensations on my arms, traveling from my fingers tips, up to my arms. Onto my neck.

I let out a scream, an ear piercing one.

We have you now, Millie, just come with us!

It yelled, and everything went black and quiet. I opened my eyes, and I looked around.

I was still in the hallway. Nothing was there, except a person, holding my hands, yelling my name to try and get me to concentrate. I couldn't hear anything, it was muffled, like I was underwater.

I flickered my eyes to the person in front of me, which was Finn. His eyes widened when he saw me, and then I saw people walk out into the hallway. Sadie, Gaten, Noah, and Caleb.

I could only hear faint words.

"Oh my god"

"What the fuck"

"Her eyes are black"

I looked back to Finn, and concern is spread across his face, while everyone else was just scared of me.

"I can't hear you well," I whispered, and he nodded.

"Call my mom." I said, and I closed my eyes, this time everything going black.

-

"So you can't fix them?" I heard my mom ask.

"I think they need to heal by themselves." A doctor said, and I opened my eyes, to my mom looking at me.

"Millie! Can you see me?" She asked, and I nodded.

"Mom, my hallucinations are getting bad. I don't even know if they are hallucinations anymore." I said, and my mom called the doctor for my medications in, so I can tell him what I'm seeing.

"Sometimes I see this black figure, and it just keeps whispering to me that I need to come with it. And then today, it says I'm with it. It felt like a cold sensation running up my arms and to my neck, and it was a scary. The figure isn't human, and its hard to explain what it looks like." I said, and they nodded.

"Well, if it was a hallucination, it definitely couldn't have done that to your eyes. So we will run some tests, and meanwhile, wear these sunglasses, they might help the black go away." The doctor said, and gave me sunglasses.

My mom and I walked out and to the car, and I looked in the mirror to my eyes. They were pitch black, nothing in them. Just complete black, even where the white in the eye I supposed to be.

"How is that even possible? Wouldn't I be blind if my eyes are like this?" I asked.

"We don't know. They checked your eyes and the blood vessels and pupils and everything else is still there, but your eyes are just pitch black. Just wear those sunglasses, maybe they will help." She said, and I nodded, putting them on.

Hopefully people aren't scared of me.

"Mom, I need to go back to the school. I have to grab my bags and catch up in the classes I missed. Sadie can give me a ride." I said, and she nodded, and drove to the school.

-

I walked into the school, and walked to my locker to grab my bag, and then I walked into the class I was supposed to be in, study hall.

After a minute I walked up to the teacher.

"Can I go get my homework from my other classes?" I asked, and she nodded.

"No sunglasses in school, Millie." She said.

"My doctor said to wear them." I said, and she looked like she didn't believe me.

I took them off so she could see my eyes, and she widened them.

"Keep them on, you can go." She said, and I nodded, and walked to my other classes to get my homework.

-

It was the end of the day, and I walked down the hallway. People were looking at me.

Someone took my sunglasses off from behind me, and I widened my eyes, as did everyone else.

"Is She a fucking bug?" I heard Iris yell, and everyone laughed. I turned around to the guy who took my glasses and took them back, putting them on, and walking to my locker as everyone laughed at me and called me a bug.

Fucking idiots.

I grabbed everything and closed it, and as soon as I closed it, I saw Finn walk up to me, leaning against his side on the lockers.

"Are you okay?" He asked, and I nodded.

"What was going on with my eyes when you saw me?" I asked.

"They were normal, but they got black in the middle, and started getting black everywhere. I didn't see them fully black though, because you closed your eyes when they were turning black. Are they still black?" He asked.

"They are pitch black. If you could tell by everyone calling me a bug." I said.

Sadie came up behind Finn, and smiled at me.

"Hey, you feeling better?" She asked, and I smiled and nodded.

"I can take you home, or Finn can." She said, and I looked over to Finn.

"Actually I have a detention." He said, and I laughed.

"Why?" I asked.

"I punched this guy." He said, and I raised my eyebrows.

"Why?" I asked, and Sadie smiled.

"No reason." He said, and I just shrugged.

"Okay, let's go." She said, taking my hand, and we walked away.

We got into her car after walking for a bit, and she sat down and smiled at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Well when you were in study hall someone saw you I guess and the word got to my class, which Finn was in with me, and someone called you a bug or something." She said, and I raised my eyebrows.

"And why is it a smiling matter?" I asked.

"Because when he called you a bug, Finn went crazy and started yelling at him, and they ended up getting in a fight and Finn punched him straight in the face." She said.

"So he punched a guy because the guy bullied me." I said, and she nodded.

"I know you want to smile, Millie," Sadie said, starting the car. I looked out the window.

And may have done a light smile.

But it's over now, Finn needs time before he could move on to me, because there are obviously still feelings for Iris there.
