Everyone slept in the house of those who most needed it after the night they had had. It was nearly the crack of dawn when the first eyes opened to pitch blackness. There was nothing to look at, but there was something to hear. A banging. It was spaced out and quiet, but it was there.
Jimin's leg dangled from the bed as he attempted to get off. A hand on his stomach stopped him.
"Yoongi-"
"Hush."
"There's something, I hear it." Jimin whispered. Again, he was told to hush.
Yoongi's bare feet made it to the cold ground before Jimin's. He took cautious steps to the door where he slowly opened the door. While his head poked out into the dark hallway, one of his hands gripped the rifle leaning against the wall. There was no movement unless the blinking of the awaken males counted. A whole minute went by before they heard some more noise. Yoongi's head turned to the direction from which he was sure it was coming from.
Right on his tail was Jimin the moment both of Yoongi's feet were in the hallway. The two looked to the door to their left, it led to the back yard. It felt like a step was taken every minute when in fact it could have been every ten seconds. Jimin had the urge to push past Yoongi, take the gun, open the door, and blast whatever was out there in the face. He restrained himself not because he himself chose to, but because Yoongi's grip on his arm was too tight for him to want to find out what else he'd do to him with such strength.
They reached the door after a few more banging noises. The noise began once again with even more frequency. Yoongi backed away, and asked for Jimin to open the door. He positioned himself ready to shoot when Jimin turned the knob.
The door would not open.
In the darkness and drowsiness from being just awaken they had completely ignored the lock Namjoon had put to restrain the door from coming open. Yoongi sighed, he claimed to be back in a moment with the key. Jimin watched his silhouette move away. What he noticed then was that the male no longer carried the rifle so he took the liberty of holding the weapon in his own hands. He was in no mood to wait. He did not care to wait for a key to open a lock he could knock out of place with a harsh bud with the bottom part of the rifle. And so break the lock off he did before pulling open the door and holding the gun up to nothing.
"What the hell!? I told you to wait!" Yoongi yelled as he came rushing to the outdoor.
Jimin rolled his eyes, "Waiting is for the patient. I ain't that."
There was nothing. Jimin did not put the gun down, he moved about with it ready to shoot. Much to his aid, Yoongi turned on a lamp that helped see in the almost too dark outside.
"There's nothing. It was probably the wind."
"Maybe or maybe it's hiding...Hiding behind here!" Jimin pulled away a blanket that covered a barrel full of dirt. He looked at in disappointment, he had hoped for that to work at least once. He retreated the gun and looked over just in time to catch Yoongi's eye roll. The man was turning around to head back inside so Jimin began to do the same.
There was a banging again. Both males stopped in their tracks. Not only could they hear the noise, they saw it. Jimin brought the rifle back up and finally pulled the trigger. The creature moved easily away from the bullets until the weapon had no more.
"You're really stupid, Psycho."
Jimin put the rifle down. "Missile?"
"In the flesh." The snarky raccoon said as she crawled up the barrel she let herself fall into.
She was dirty and with some blood on her fur, but nonetheless she smirked at her fellow inmate.
"Oh Missile! I've missed you!" Jimin yelled before running in for a hug. Like most times that day, Yoongi was there to pull him back. He gripped his shirt and pull him back enough to make him fall. The rifle was back in his hands as he approached the raccoon with the butt of the gun. The animal, much more intimated by this crazy than the other, put her hands up.
"Why are you here?"
"I've come to heed a warning, and hopefully catch a ride."
"A ride?" Jimin repeated.
"A warning? What type of warning?"
Missile looked at the butt of the gun which was close to her face for comfort. Yoongi pulled it away and motioned for her to explain herself.
"A warning that might save all the asses of you freaks, including my own and some others. They're coming for us..well he is."
"Who is?"
The raccoon looked at Yoongi as though he was the stupidest thing to exist.
"Who is?" Yoongi repeated himself more sternly and with a slight hit to the animal. "Whose coming for us?"
The animal was ignoring the question directed at him. His eyes had locked with the frightened and shocked ones of the man on the floor. Jimin had frozen in place, breath hitched in his throat as his eyes wide open. Oh he of all people knew who was coming for them.
"Hunters, freak hunters." Missile said at last. "Some of the best ones too. Jimin knows exactly whose coming for him, don't you psycho?"
He most certainly did. It was why he unfroze into a panic. He got to his feet within a second and by the next he was at Missile's throat asking to know, no, he demanded to know more.
"I heard!" The animal choked out. "I heard from some people in the woods a few hours ago! They were after some wolf then started talking about some stupid myth! Something about a animal shifter and how they should call some guy who left his number to come find out if it was true or not! Let go, psycho!"
"No!" Jimin shook the animal. "How'd you find us!?"
"Blood! There's a trail of blood leading here from the woods! Where there's chaos there's a crazy who caused it! Now let fucking go!"
The animal finally acted like one. Missile sunk her teeth down into Jimin's hand to free herself from the deathly grip by which she was being held. While she rubbed her neck and Jimin his hand, Yoongi was processing it all.
"Is the blood still there...?"
"Well I didn't clean it up."
"Fucks sake." Yoongi dropped the gun. "Wake everyone. We have to go, now!"
The two watched as he left in a hurry then screaming at those in the nearest room to get packing.
"What's his problem?" Missile asked.
Jimin shrugged. "I don't know, but I know mine. Do you think...Missile do you think he'll find me?"
The raccoon saw fear in the eyes of those who instills it. She didn't want to say no nor did he want to say yes because she really didn't know. All she could do was pat the tense shoulder of the crazy and leave him to have a moment alone. Jimin was left on his own with the sun to slowly join him as he thought of the hell that might be heading his way.
