Meeting
Jin lived in a rented out apartment near the hospital. To make himself more independent he had moved out of his uncle's house.
Currently ,Jin grabbed his black folder and then walked out of his house after making sure that all the lights and gas were switched off.
He was extremely excited and nervous at the same time.Last night,he had gone over all his books on psychological disorders which could be related to the patients based on the symptoms they had written on their documents. He didn't get a wink of sleep last night but if anyone saw him now that person might think that the guy was high on sugar such was his vigor.
Jin opened the door of his car and drove over to the hospital.

Jin went and sat in the office. The first patient is Suzy. No last name because she has no parents.
She is 19.A legal adult.last year of high school
Issue - Depression
Jin went over this information in his mind.Though Jin knew this information,he was going to pretend to know nothing about the patient.
Though names might seem useless apart from identifying a person. Names usually play an important role in shaping a person's nature, behaviour etc.Names give a identification to a person which includes expectations, disappointments and other emotions. So not knowing a person's name gives that person the feeling that the other person knows nothing about them and won't judge them or have any expectations. And most of the people would want that comfort before talking to their psychiatrists amidst the uncomfortablity of a new location and practically a stranger infront of whom they probably have to share their secrets if necessary.
So Jin will pretend not to know even the name of the patient.
The patient is a youth meaning they are very cautious of what the society says about them and at the same time they want to defy it.
Considering this patient has depression, the depression might as well have been started by the society's expectations. Most of the youth face depression due to the pressure on them.Secondly, the patient is an orphan, she might be bullied for this reason as well.
A nurse knocks at the door ,Jin opens the door.
The patient walks inside. Jin gives a slight smile and his expression was serene and calm that said you can trust me.
Jin sits down in his chair and asks the patient to sit infront of him. She was wearing a full sleeve sweater and jeans.
The room was a dull white and the equipments as well as the furniture were sky blue with a little variation of colours in some parts. This gave the room a peaceful, calm and a comforting homely vibe.
Jin asks,"what is your name?"
The patient replies,"Suzy"
The patient was appearing to be relaxing a bit.
Then Jin asks," your age?"
Suzy replies "19"
Then Jin asks information such as phone no,address, high school name .
Jin already had this information. He asks because it gives the patient time to process her environment and get comfortable.
The patient appears to be calm though Jin noticed that her fingers were twisting and intertwining against each other. She was nervous.
Then ,Jin takes her wrist and measures the pulse, the pulse was quicker than normal .Jin also notices that there are cuts and scratches on the wrists.
Then Jin asked,"Do you have any parents?"
Suzy replies,"No,I am an orphan"
Jin who was measuring the pulse felt that the pulse grew even quicker. His guess was correct then.
She has anxiety as well. The patient is lying Jin knows that.
But Jin doesn't pry further into the matter and moves onto the next question ," Why do you feel like you have depression?"
Silence.
But Jin doesn't speak, and lets the silence continue.Still smiling wearing the same calm expression.
Suzy replies," I have a pessimistic outlook of life.I feel that I cannot lead a "normal" life like others.I feel lonely and emotionally detached from other people."
Jin, makes a mental note of all the symptoms.
It seems like the patient has PTSD.(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
"Is it because of some one",Jin asks
Suzy whispers,"I still have nightmares". Her eyes were glassy.
Jin speaks in a comforting manner,"Is it because of your parents?"
Suzy nods.
"What happened to you, tell me you can trust me"
Suzy shakes her head in a way that means no.
Jin speaks again,"If you won't t
ell me,then you would not be able to get free from your suffocation.I would not be able to heal you.You are a child, you need not carry the burden of your thoughts alone."
(A/n- generally a psychologist or psychiatrist plays the role of the mom,dad or brother etc to a patient so that the emotional vacancy is fulfilled. And by playing a role it doesn't mean that the patient will call them mom etc they just say words that are comforting and take the role of the emotional vacancy in the patients. But the psychiatrist or psychologist has to be careful not to get too close to the patient and maintain a professional distance.Getting too close the patient has adverse effects. This is probably the first rule that the medical professions are generally taught)
Suzy replies," My mother had postnatal depression. She used to pinch me when I was small and gave me sleeping pills to quiet me down and closed me in the cupboard. I remember all this because it continued with me till I was 8 yrs old. I never said anything to my father because I knew my father loved my mother and because I was her child I knew I had to love her too like my friends do to their mothers but I couldn't.And one day,my father found out. My mother that day became delirious and almost tried to kill my father. My father called the police for his own safety and mother got arrested. My father was alright for a while and married another woman. My stepmother took care of me and was nice but my father didn't love her .He became an alcoholic. He had only married my stepmother so that she could take care of me. At first,it wasn't so bad but when I was 14 my father lost his job and continued to spend his money on alcoholic he became even worse than he was before . My stepmother had to work to provide for the family.I started staying in school and only came back when I knew my stepmother would be at home. When I was 16,I started working part time jobs.
I started coming home only for a few hours to grab some clothes, food and to see my mother .One day,I came back earlier than usual and saw that my father was beating my mother.I was shocked and I screamed . I probably started having anxiety since then.I came in between my mother and that monster.I grabbed her hand and ran out of the house. I went to get help from the police but my mother stopped me saying it is a family matter and didn't want to be gossiped by the neighbors. But I couldn't leave my mom in that hell hole. So after a few hours we came back home, and fourtunately that monster was sleeping . I quickly packed all my and my mom clothes, accessories etc, grabbed some food and against my mother's wishes I ran out pulling her with me. After we reached the busstand,I called the old ahjumma who was the owner of the convenience store I was working in.That ahjumma was very nice to me and she allowed me and my mother to stay there for a while.Financially,we had no problem as we were the ones earning. We moved out from there as we didnt want to trouble ahjumma anymore. We moved to a new house and we were living peacefully for 2 yrs. Until last year ,my father suddenly arrived at our house finding out from someone that we lived there his face was dishevelled and he reeked of alcohol, his clothes weren't in the best of condition. He was angry and almost in a crazy state ,my mother and father argued very harshly and then my father took out a knife and murdered my mother. He came towards me while I was trying to dial the to the police and the ambulance,I was scared and I ran as fast as I could to the nearest police station screaming for help. The police were able to catch my father but due to late medical help and a lot of blood loss my mother died.I was responsible so I managed to control my emotions, even though I cried a lot I continued my part time job and worked hard for the scholarships. At that time, only ahjumma knew about my condition and supported me.I got the scholarships for the school last year but I still had to work very hard and even suffered temporary insomnia. But it was all too fast I wasn't ready my mind still hadn't accepted the death of my mother. I started have negative thoughts, and I get nightmares every night.I am even afraid to sleep these days.I sometimes even harmed myself. And due to my anxiety I developed a habit to scratch my wrists aggressively. My best friend caught me,and advised me to go to a psychiatrist. She doesn't know about my family tho.I am scared that I would be bullied if anyone came to know about this I am not fine at all but everyday I pretend that I am fine.
She poured all of this out very fast and started sobbing into her hands.
Jin's face was still calm even though he was greatly moved by the plight of the girl,he knew that considering the background of the girl she wanted a steady person to trust. It was a good sign that the girl didn't have hallucinations,or PTSD attacks. It was only in the beginning stage. Thank god,the girl had the courage to come and pour out her heart .(opening her heart and pouring her trauma out was good considering that she could talk about it )
Suzy was still crying.Jin just let her cry and sat doing nothing.(a/n-No,Jin is not being inconsiderate or awkward. Generally, when a person cries to comfort them we pass a tissue or say words etc to calm them down. But a psychiatrist or psychologist isn't your friend they teach and help you to deal with your emotions.Passing a tissue will give the underlying message that the patient needs to stop). He was silent waiting for the patient to speak first. It was a comfortable silence (thanks to Jin's "motherly" or "homely" aura)not a piercing silence.
It continued for some time and Suzy spoke up "please give me a tissue"
Jin passed a tissue.
Jin said,"do you have anyone else in your family that suffered from depression apart from your mother?"
Suzy replies no and she was glad that her crying wasn't discussed .She already felt vulnerable crying infront a total stranger.
Jin then prescribed in a paper anti depressants, anti anxiety pills and prazosin.
Then passing the paper to Suzy said,"You need to take these medications as they are prescribed.Donot overdose or there will be side effects. You will have to come each Friday for a 15 minute checkup.I will recommend you to a therapist.Therapy along with medication will help you to heal faster. The nurse will take you to meet your therapist."
Though Jin was capable of providing counselling ,he didn't really prefer counselling ,unless it was absolutely necessary, and it was better for a therapist to provide long term counselling as compared to a psychiatrist.
Jin rang the bell to call the nurse.Suzy said thank you and went with the nurse.
Jin called his friend "Moonbyul,I have sent a patient named Suzy."
Before Moonbyul could actually say yes or no Jin hung up.He knew Moonbyul was going to to treat her.
He started noting all the important points and medications in the records .He always likes to be detailed in his records.
After about an hour,he received a missed call from Moonbyul.Good, the patient agreed to have therapy.
Now it was time to get ready for the next patient.

Did you like the chapter?what were your thoughts on the chapter? I would love to hear from your perspective ❤️💜
Also do you like that the patients session was written in detail or would you prefer it to be shorter.
I did research on how a session goes if there are any errors,I apologize for them as I may be ignorant of it ... also this was really fast, considering these aren't the main focus of my stories .. therapy can take a lot of time as different people have different levels of trust and how much they can say after a unit of time .
I don't mean to offend anyone and remember gLoBaL pEaCE is VeRy iMpORtAnt😂😂🤗
