...

"Was it worth it?"

The bright lights of a white room was blinding to the eyes which saw some light for the first time after being held hostage in a dark room for hours. The voice to have asked the question came from a woman, Dr.Dean.

"Where is he?"

She didn't bother to look up as she prepared a tray with tools on it.

"Dead."

Jimin shook his head as he refused to believe it. He didn't think the wound could have taken him out if they had treated it. He was sure they would have treated it. She was lying, she had to be.

"Was it worth it? The lying, the sneaking, the adventure, all of it? Will it be worth what's going to happen to you?"

Still unsure of the answer, Jimin couldn't say. He thought back to the times he had spent with Yoongi. There had been happiness in the mix of pleasure. Hugs and kisses were the highlight of some days while sex on others. Even though it had all been for the adrenaline of it all at first, there had been enjoyment. Good times had been spent until they embarked to leave the old life behind.

So was it worth it?

"No."

It wasn't worth it in the end because the good times stopped when they left everything behind. Jimin regretted having agreed to leave. He regretted the fact that the old him which he thought to have successfully buried made such a big decision for him. If he had been in his right mind he was sure that he could have been happy now and if not happy then at least free.

"I asked him the same. He said yes."

"He did?"

Dr.Dean nodded. "He did. He claimed that little time of freedom with you at his side was worth years of encasement. Was it worth death for him? He left with a smile so just maybe."

Jimin felt his stomach drop with guilt. Yoongi had thought all of it was worth him yet he had just said no. He loved him yet he didn't think him worthy enough. If there were tears left, he would have cried at his own cruelty.

"He did ask for me to say one thing to you before he left."

"What?"

Before Dr.Dean could answer, the door opened. In walked Kai. He was not dressed causally as he had been the last time he was seen. He stepped through with an outfit just like the one Jimin used to wear. He made no eye contact as he headed straight for Dr.Dean. He whispered something in her ear. She put everything down and asked for him to take over. Once she was out of the room Kai looked Jimin in the eye.

"So it wasn't worth it?"

Jimin couldn't believe his eyes. He had been fooled once more by appearance.

"Why did you—"

"Give you in? Because it was my job." He said. "Like you I decided to get off the map as well, except I kept my job in the process. I got hearing of where you disposed his tracker so I knew you were coming for Eight. It just so happened that I had met him not too long ago. It's crazy how fate works isn't it?"

The doctor rolled the tray closer. There were instruments used for one's mouth which made for Jimin to tightened his jaw even more. However, Kai didn't go for anything on the tray. He reached into the pocket of his coat for a needle all ready for injecting.

"I know the promise he made to you. If he loved you he would have killed you. He asked me to do it, but from what I heard it seems you didn't love him so why put you out of your misery when he lived so long in his for you?"

Jimin watched closely as the needle swung in the small space the doctor let it. Oh how he yearned for the poison to make a course through his body.

"P-Please—"

"I wanted to do it before I heard you talk. I wanted so badly to give that struggling soul his last wish yet you made it clear you're not deserving of it. The real question wasn't if it was worth it, it was do you love him. If you loved him then all this would have been worth it, but it wasn't to you. He gave up freedom for you yet you couldn't for him. You don't deserve this."

"No, wait! Wait!"

Kai pushed the liquid out of the needle, set it on the tray and picked up a tool much more intimidating.

"Dr.Park before I begin I would like to thank you for your services."

"No—Wait!"

"You have dedicated a great mind to us in one way and now you will in a another."

"I LOVED HIM! I DID! I REALLY DID!"

"You are now sentenced to a life of punishment by donating yourself in the name of science. I hereby claim you salvaged."

Yoongi could never show Jimin that he loved him, even if he did.

To him it was all worth it which was why his last words had been for it be told to Jimin.
