Sidekick
[Eli's POV]
A teacher came into the classroom and settled his things on the teacher's table. He must be the homeroom teacher of this class. I was always fond with teachers and they seems to be comfortable too, except the other half of scary teachers. Why, do you ask? Well whenever I'm uncomfortable with the teacher, I rarely recite. I learned that from my previous year.
Someone infront of me waved and to my relief, it's Ko! I was glad to not meet anybody else or else I would've jumbled up their names together. Usually, I'd get along with some individual and then get familiar with their name a week later, not a minute after.
"Wazzupppp I'm in front of you..!"
:DD
"Quit the improper language."
My gaze traveled to who's on Ko's right and to no suprise, I already knew it was Zato coming from the recent statement. He didn't mess up his proper sitting and just turned his head towards Ko and I's direction as best as he can. I decided to lighten up the situation.
"Are you his mom?"
I said that as a joke and look who took it seriously. The joke went over Zato's slicked back hair like jelly on a water slide. Sorry that was a weird comparison.
"Why would I be his mother? We're not related."
I sighed and attempted to dismiss the joke.
" I g u e s s n o t...."
I could see Ko's obvious face that says "Really?" at Zato. I mean who could blame him? With this weird humor, is Ko my twin? We all got settled and I noticed Aria beside me with Nao behind her seat. I'm not complaining, it's better than being alone surrounded with people you don't know yet.
"Ohayo gosaimasu, mina san."
Everybody greets the teacher in front, whose name seems to be Mr. Haruhi.
"Suprisingly, we have a new student in this class. Please go to the front and introduce yourself."
This is the process that I hate the most. Not introducing myself to one, but to everyone at once. Nonetheless, I stood up without complaint and walked up to the front before writing my name in Kanji on the blackboard with chalk. I took a deep breath before I begin to speak.
"Ohayo, mina san. My name is Eli Sumire. I just moved here from Sugar city. Nice to meet you all!"
It may look like I have an innocent smile, but deep inside I just want to get over this shit and end the day. I still have an anime to binge watch tonight.
"Arigatou, Sumire-chan. You may now take your seat."
Lol. I went to my seat and sat down. I fixed myself to be more presentable cause that moment made me self conscious for a bit. The process is finally over. I can relax for now.
[Teruki's POV]
You might be trying to tell me, Teru-kun, there's another psychic! No worries, I already know. I didn't notice it before but I have nothing to be afraid of. Heh, she's probably a weak one.
Wait... Another one..? No.. I thought I was the only one..! It should be ME and ALWAYS ME! I'm the protagonist of this whole universe and I'm not letting anyone change that! Let me think for a second here... The other psychic is a girl.. Heh, I know. She could be my sidekick. This might be a gift from the gods. I'll get her in no time with my looks. Just you wait cutie~.
•After school hours•
[Eli's POV]
Finally the day is over~ I got by the introductions fast like Speed-o-Sound Sonic. Although I felt someone staring at me intensely the whole time. Though I'm letting it off the hook since it's the first day. I'm not going to jump to conclusions. I could feel Ko's and Aria's presence approach my walking figure.
"Hey hey, what about the hang out you talked about? What we gon do?"
"Ahh, we're just gonna go to a cafe or have fun in an arcade."
"A cafe sounds nice something refreshing should be good after all those introduction."

I sighed. Well at least Aria looks very delighted by my statement. I decided to let my errands be for tomorrow. Nothing else is better than relaxing with friends. Actual friends.
"Yatta! I thought you would be busy!"
"Well, I'll guess I'll let my errands off the hook for today"

"Can nao-chan come?"
Aria looked around the front yard of the school to find signs of Nao. She then dismissed her own question.
"Eh, seems like she already went home...Well then let's go!!"
Hanging out with Aria and Ko outside the school was a new experience. I love this feeling of freedom. I want to experience more and have fun. The days were different from what I experienced back in elementary. Those days were gloomy, but now I found new things to do rather than stress out on homework alone.
After having a walk to the city nearby, here we in my favorite cafe Mobbucks. I love their Chocolate Chip Creme Frappuccino! Of course that'll be the first thing that I'll order. Ko said he'll be treating us and so we told him our orders and left to find us three a booth. We chose a booth that has comfy seats beside the window. Guess I really like to sit beside windows huh?
Aria and I chatted for a bit about randomness and waited for Ko to arrive back with the drinks. I decided to ask Aria the most thing I'm passionate about.
"My hobby? Ohh, I like to garden! I have lots of plants back at my house!"
"Really?? I'd actually love to see it sometime! I kinda like seeing gardens and plants."
"Maybe we should garden sometimes."
"I would definitely go!"
Some minutes later, Ko arrived with the drinks and joined the conversation.
"You girls talking about Aria's gardening hobby? Well, I myself likes to play basketball."
Ho boy we got a basketball player here.
"Bro teach me. I only know how to play Badminton and Volleyball. Although, never joined a tournament once."
Badminton is the only sport I nail. Since my father used to play, he taught me some things and I learned how to compete. I'm on the same level as my mom and we always duel. Of course being at the advantage of having power, no I do NOT use my powers in playing. What's the real fun in being unfair?
Ko reminds me of my older brother, Aren Sumire. They both like basketball! Aren is my only sibling and he's a natural Telekinetic. He's kind of over protective, but that's only because he wants the best for me. I trained along with him when our father was teaching us.
Our parents are one of the reasons why Aren and I don't use our powers for evil. I also influenced Alex and Claire to do so. We want to live quietly with these powers and we don't plan even a single bit in exposing it to the world. Instead of making our powers our main things, we lived life like normal people and focused on our passions instead.
"I'll show you some moves next time. Maybe you both could watch some of my practices!"
"You all move your bodies to do your hobbies while I just sit all the time and draw."
I love to draw. If I had one wish I'd want fantasy to become reality. My imagination is so wide and clear that I want it all to exist. That is why I want to become an artist, or possibly an animator. I want to help fill the world with color and hopes. I became Alex's guide in art. I still remember the times where I still taught her how to draw a face when I'm an amateur myself, but now we're both set on our feet and continued to improve alot.
"Really?! You draw?? Can I see some of your works??"
Aria got interested in the word draw. It seems like she likes the beauty of nature, but she also like the beauty of art itself. I brought out my sketchbook from my bag. The sketchbook was about the size of a notebook. Perfect for traveling or for bringing. I opened my phone and showed them some of my digital works. I wouldn't say that my works are perfect, but I'm proud and satisfied of it. Aria then said,
"Woah! You draw really good Eli-chan!"
"Yeah! Can you draw me next time in a basketball jersey? Or maybe in in a basketball pose looking all serious and sweaty?............."
Ko kept mumbling stuff about how I will draw him. I internally sighed already expecting this situation. The moment you say you're an artist, don't be shy to expect that they'll ask for a request.
"As if. Maybe some other time. I'm not feeling too inspired right now. I'll try to find motivation at times."
"Right, you mentioned Badminton! Did you know that not only Basketball and Volleyball, but Badminton also has tournaments?"
Tournament? If I tell this to dad then he for sure would be like,
"Join it El! It's your chance to shine! Come on, show them what you got."
Still, it's worth a shot if it meant making my dad proud and happy. I'll think of joining for sure whenever the school officially announces it.
"Really..?! I'm already thinking of participating... But does that mean I'll have to join some club or need some requirements?"
"You're right about the club. For the requirements, I think you'll just need badminton stuff like a Racket and Shuttlecocks for practice. Obviously you'll need to bring some essentials too. I'm in the basketball club and all we need to brong is ourselves and essentials. Although, I think they'll supply most things for the tournament and practices. They provide the jerseys!"
"I'm intrigued to find out more. Although, what's better for me? The badminton club or some art club?"
Aria went in thought for a second before answering my question.
"You should join the badminton club to experience the tournaments! Since you're new, it'll be quite the experience."
Good reason.. I took a sip of my drink and pondered for a second. I was about to say my opinion but Ko beat me with another fact.
"I just remembered! Eli-chan if you join tournaments, you might have a chance to play in a tournament with players from another school!"
"Oh right!!"
Aria ate a piece of her cheesecake with a fork before continuing.
"They said last year the batch this time will be competing against players from Salt middle high right??"
"Yeah, I'm kind of excited. This is the first time for Black Vinegar to compete with Salt Middle High!"
I ask since I'm quite unfamiliar with the said school.
"Is that a school from nearby?"
"Yeah, it's not far from here!"
said Aria.
Not gonna lie. All of this is pretty new to me, so I'm quite nervous yet very excited in what's in stock this year.
Ko and Aria continued to fire up the conversation into a nice get-to-now session with the three of us. I continued to slurp my drink until it's empty to the very bottom of the cup whilst answering their turn of questions from time to time. There were several times I gazed out of the window to the sky turning orange while waiting for a message from Alex like I usually do.
"Oh the sun is setting! I need to go home."
Aria was the first to declare she was leaving, so we all decided to go too.
"Me too! I forgot I was supposed to clean my room today. Sorry Eli-chan, I also have to go or else my mom would beat my bum..."
Ah, a mommy's boy. I know one who is also a mommy's boy back in Pepper city. I'll tell you, get a friend/man that's a mommy's boy. Well... That's what his mother told me so. I don't really agree with the statement. Get whoever you want that makes you happy until your last breath, right?
"Lmao it's alright. Get yo asses home! Hehe, you should've told us so m o m m y ' s b o y~."
"D-don't call me that! Tch..."
"HAHAHAH!"
After that moment, we went out the cafe and separated to go home. Of course we didn't forget to fix our plates and cups. We're not those type of students who doesn't care. Whether it's the waiters' /waitresses' job or not, it's still the right thing to do.
I walked back on my way home to the apartment. I saw Ramen restaurants and tried my best not to look their way. Easy, Eli. You're cooking your own meal for dinner tonight. Despite the struggle, the sky changing color till it's dark helped distract my hunger. Wait no, I meant cravings. I'm not hungry after that Frappuccino.
Nothing really bad happened tonight as I made my way to my apartment safe and sound.
"Finally, after a day full of socializing. That was tiring~"
