Full House

Chapter One

Full House

"Psych". One of the few shows I can get openly obsessed with. That is why I have chosen to write about it. We all love Shawn Spencer (though Carlton Lassiter is my favorite), but I want to write something about him that no one would expect. Something so personal, that it wouldn't even cross anybody's mind, since they'd be laughing so much. Is Shawn an only child? And the answer is no. Shawn has a twin sister named Jo. And when they were six months old, she vanished in the middle of the night. And one day, Shawn found out about his twin. So he set out to find her.

He'd recently moved to San Fransisco with his fiance, Juliet Ohara. He was going through old boxes of stuff he packed. He found an old photo album. As he leafed through it, he found a picture of him and another child in a crib. Curious, he removed it and turned it over. It read; "Shawn and Jo, 6 months".

"Who's Jo?" He asked himself. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and called his father, Henry. After two rings, Henry answered.

"What is it, Shawn?"

"Hey, dad. Do you know who Jo is?" Suddenly, Henry hung up. A confused Shawn redialed.

"Shawn-"

"What the hell? Why'd you hang up on me?"

"Shawn, you don't need to know who Jo is, okay? Trust me, you don't wanna."

"Yeah, I do wanna. Who is she?" After a pause, Henry said;

"Okay, Shawn. Jo is your...twin sister." Shawn was slightly startled by this sudden revelation.

"Okay," Shawn cleared his throat. "Why don't I remember her?"

"Because...when you were six months old, she disappeared." Suddenly, Shawn remembered. They were in their crib late one night when, in a flash of white light, she was gone.

"Oh my god. I remember now. You never found her, did you?"

"No. Spent two years trying to though. Your mother and I were both just...devastated. We still don't know why they only took her."

"Don't worry, dad. You'll have answers."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm gonna find her."

Shawn sat at his kitchen table trying to go back and figure out who took Jo. All he could remember was that light and Jo disappearing. But he kept trying to see past the light, trying to figure out where it came from. Just then, Juliet walked in.

"Jules! You'll never guess what I found out!"

"What? Was there a new episode of 'Thundercats'?"

"Jules, that's not funny, you know 'Thundercats' ended in the 90s."

"I thought they remade it."

"Yes, they did. But I refuse to watch the remake, because it's just not the same. Jules, I've got a twin sister named Jo that I never knew about."

"Wow, really?"

"Yeah, look." Shawn showed her the picture of him and Jo.

"'Shawn and Jo, 6 months'?" She read.

"Yeah. But when I think back to that night, when she disappeared, all I remember is this bright light," Suddenly, Shawn realized something. "Wait," He put his finger to his head "psychically". "I'm getting something."

"Shawn, I know you're not a psychic, remember?"

"Sorry, it's hard to keep track of who knows what," He put his hand down. "I remember, in the crib, there was a piece of paper with the name of an auto company. It said 'Johnny Auto'. I should go ask them some questions." Shawn got up, grabbed his keys, and drove to the auto shop. Upon arrival, he got out of his car and took some deep breaths. He was a bit bewildered by all of this. He found out he had a missing sister not half an hour ago, and now he's already found a lead. He walked inside. He saw a man with a name tag that read Phil.

"Phil, my good man. Do you know where I might find the manger of this fine establishment?"

"Who's asking?"

"My name is Shawn Spencer. I'm a psychic." Phil chuckled.

"Sure you are, kid. And my aunt is a witch. But, between you and me, I wouldn't put it past her." Phil laughed. Shawn grinned.

"Well, Phil, I just wanna say congrats on your wife's pregnancy. A little boy I believe." That was fairly easy. Shawn could see the light blue paint stains on Phil's hands and a bulge in his shirt pocket in the shape of a celebratory cigar. Phil looked a bit impressed.

"Not bad. Alright, follow me. Sonny's this way," Shawn followed Phil into the manager's office. "Hey, Sonny, there's someone here to see you." Phil walked out of the room.

"Hello, Sonny. My name is Shawn Spencer. I'm a psychic."

"A psychic, eh? Tell me this, then. Am I gonna win the lottery?" Sonny laughed a suspicious laugh. Shawn chuckled nervously.

"I don't see into the future, I only read the present. It doesn't work like that. I'm here to ask you a few questions."

"Surely you know the answers already."

"Sometimes I need to get my psychic juices flowing. So, I'm here about the Jo Spencer disappearance from about thirty seven years ago."

"This again? Listen, I don't know what happened to that child, I don't even know the Spencer's. She was your sister, wasn't she?" Shawn nodded.

"Twin sister."

"Well, I'm very sorry for your loss, but there's nothing I can tell you."

"Really? There was a piece of paper with the name of your auto shop written on it that was found in the crib. Can you explain that?"

"Must've been one of my old employees. Or a customer."

"Really? Which of your old employees would you have found the most shady?"

"That was thirty seven years ago, I can't remember back that far. But Steven probably would. Been here longer than anybody. Talk to him."

"I will. Thank you for your time," Shawn walked out of the room to find Steven. "Is there a man named Steven here?" An old looking man walked up to him.

"That'd be me. What can I do you for?"

"Hello, Steve. My name is Shawn Spencer. I'm here to ask you about some old coworkers. From thiry seven years ago."

"Sure, what about them?"

"Do you know if any of them would have anything to do with a kidnapping that took place around that time?"

"No. But there's this customer that comes in every once in a while, scares the crap outta me. Spooky Sal, we call him."

"Where might I find this Spooky Sal?" Steve reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper and pen.

"You'll find him at this address. But be warned, he don't play nice."

"Thank you, I'll be careful." Shawn went to his car and began driving to the address. On the way there, he decided to make a phone call.

"Hello?" The voice answered on the other end.

"Hello, is this Burton Guster? This is your credit card company. We are calling about the $4000 dress you purchased."

"What? I didn't buy a...wait a minute. Shawn? Is that you?"

"Dude, how does that work every time I do it?"

"What do you want?"

"Dude, I've got a pretty awesome case."

"No, Shawn. Not today. You know I'm taking Rachael to dinner."

"Dude, how many times do I have to tell you, she's gonna say no!"

"No, I asked her, we're definitely going to dinner."

"Not about that. You know what I'm talking about."

"Shawn, I am ready to take the next step in our relationship. You're not the only one allowed to get engaged."

"Gus, I'm glad you wanna pop the question. Believe me, I am. We could then make it a double wedding. But I'm pretty sure Rachael wants to take things slow. Just wait a little while longer, okay? Just trust me, this case is so much better."

"Really? How could proposing to Rachael at her favorite restaurant not be able to top some random case about some guy who died in the woods, or got run over by a car?"

"Because...it's my sister." After a long pause, Gus sighed.

"What about her? Who is she? Why didn't you tell me you had a sister?"

"Slow down, buddy. She disappeared, her name is Jo, and because I found out about her about an hour ago. Turns out she's my twin sister."

"Twin sister?" Gus repeated.

"Yep. She was kidnapped when we were kids. Dude, I've already got a lead. Sal, you'll never guess his last name."

"What's his last name?"

"His name is Sal...Moriarty."

"Uh, that's not possible."

"Apparently it is. I believe his father's name was Arthur Doyle."

"Where'd you get this lead, anyway?"

"Well, I remember in the crib at the time of the kidnapping, there was a piece of paper with the name of an auto shop. 'Johnny Auto'."

"That's a bit on the nose isn't it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, that clue was way too easy to find. Surely he would've been more careful."

"Obviously, that means he's not a professional kidnapper."

"Or maybe it was just some wild goose chase."

"I don't know. Good thinking though. We'll find out once I talk to Spooky Sal."

"Spooky Sal?"

"That's his nickname at the shop."

"Right. Before you go, do you think I should wear a classic black suit, or that suit I bought the other day?"

"You mean the corduroy suit?"

"Yeah." Shawn smirked as he answered.

"Corduroy. Definitely corduroy."

"Great. Thanks."

"No problem." Shawn hung up the phone, and continued driving. About halfway there, Shawn was driving down a deserted road. He held the piece of paper in his hand. Suddenly, it flew out the open window. He pulled over and got out of his car to get it. It landed in the middle of the road. When he picked it up, he saw a strange light appear before his eyes. The next thing he knew, he was gone.
