Crossworlds

Chapter Two

Crossworlds

Shawn found himself in a dark room. In this room, there was nothing but himself and a sphere of light hovering right in front of his eyes. This concerned him for a number of reasons.

"What happened?" Shawn asked.

"I have come to your aid." A pixie-like voice said. It was the light speaking to him somehow.

"What are you?"

"I am a good fairy."

"A fairy? Right, makes sense."

"I am here to help you find your sister."

"You mean Jo?"

"Yes. But you will not find her in this realm."

"What do you mean?"

"All those years ago, she was taken by a bad fairy. Bad fairies cause nothing but trouble."

"Sure. So, what, you're gonna take me to her?"

"Yes. And do not worry. You will not be going alone."

"What do you mean? Are you coming with me?"

"No. I am sending you with friends."

"'Friends'?"

"Yes. Now, it is time for you to go."

"Wait, what if I need to see you again? Just click my heels and say 'There's no place like home'?"

"No. Just snap your fingers and think to yourself, 'Fairies, guide me'."

"Sure. Snap my fingers, 'Fairies, guide me'. Got it."

"Off you go." Suddenly, the light grew until he was surrounded by it. He found himself on the ground in the middle of a sidewalk. He had been transported to another "realm", apparently. He sat up and saw some familiar faces.

"Jules! Gus! Lassie! What're you guys doing here?"

"Spencer!" Lassiter yelled. He sat up and looked at him. "You have got thirty seconds to explain what the hell is going on."

"Okay. I have this twin sister named Jo who disappeared when we were six months old, and after a bit of psychic reading I found some clues as to where she went. So while I was investigating, I was taken by this weird light, which turned out to be a fairy. She told me that I would find Jo in a different realm, so she sent me here. And apparently, when she said she would send friends with me, she meant you, so that's probably why you're all here." They all looked at him.

"That is the craziest thing you have ever said, Shawn." Gus said.

"I know, isn't it?"

"Spencer, get us the hell out of here!"

"I'm afraid I have no control over that, Lassie. You'll just have to bear with me on this."

"Come on guys, I see a motel across the street." Juliet said. They all stood up and began to walk to the motel. Shawn was feeling a bit of stomach pain, but he tried not to show it. But eventually, it became unbearable. The pain spread throughout his entire body. He fell to his knees.

"Shawn! You okay?" Gus asked, kneeling next to him.

"I'm fine, man. It's all good."

"You sure?"

"You kidding? I feel like I was hit by a truck!"

"Come on. It'll be okay." Juliet comforted. She and Gus helped him get up, and they went across the street to the motel. They paid for a room, and got a key. The room number was 2B. Jules and Gus got Shawn on the bed. He was still in severe pain.

"What the hell even happened?" Lassiter asked.

"I don't know." Gus said. Shawn felt weak as he laid on that motel bed. Jules was next to him.

"Don't worry, Shawn. You'll be okay." All of a sudden, Shawn began to feel numb. He was unconscious for a while. When he awoke, there was an ice pack on his forehead. He sat up and looked around. He was alone.

"Jules? Gus? Lassie? Anyone? Bueller?" He got no response. He stood up and started looking around. He pulled his phone out of his pocket. He called Gus.

"Shawn. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. How long have I been out? I just woke up."

"Since yesterday. About seven hours hours."

"Seven hours? What happened?"

"I don't know. You just passed out on us. Dude, guess what we found out."

"There's a two-for-one deal at Arby's?"

"Actually, there is, but that's not what I'm talking about. Dude, there's this TV show. It's called 'Psych'."

"Cool. There's a show named after us."

"It's not just named after us. It's about us."

"What're you saying?"

"We know everything, Spencer!" Lassiter yelled.

"Woah, woah, hold on! Put me on speaker!"

"That's right, Spencer! I know all about how you lied just to get out of trouble!"

"You didn't give me much choice, Lassie. You wouldn't listen to me otherwise!"

"I knew it! I knew it all along! Wait'll we get back! You're so in for it!"

"You mean when we get back to our dimension, or when you get back to the motel?"

"Both."

"Figured. Listen, man, I didn't want it to go that way. I had no intentions of being a 'psychic'."

"I know. You're 'just good at observation'."

"Why'd you say it like that?"

"Well, that's one of your lines from, stand by for this, 'Psych: The Musical'."

"Musical? You're joking?"

"I am so not. You should've seen the opening. You look very good in an apron, Cinderella."

"That doesn't top the dance you and Shawn were doing." Jules spoke up.

"Dance?"

"You should've seen it, Shawn. You two were singing and dancing together." Gus said.

"Shut up, Guster."

"Dude, what's my actor's name?"

"James Roday. My actor's name is Dulé Hill."

"Dulé? That sounds foreign. French or something."

"I think it's Spanish."

"What about you, Jules?"

"I think it's Maggie Lawson."

"Maggie? You kinda look like a Maggie."

"Lassie's played by Timothy Omundson."

"I can't even pronounce that word."

"Your dad is played by Corbin Bernson, I think."

"Wow. Wait until I tell him about that one. Wait a minute. Where is my dad?"

"We don't know," Jules said. "We tried calling him, but it just won't work."

"Alright. Could you keep trying?"

"Of course." Suddenly, Shawn felt something in his stomach. But it wasn't like before. This time it wasn't so much painful. It felt like something was crawling around inside his body. He dropped his phone and fell to the floor. In his mind, he saw something. It was a blonde girl. When it ended, he found himself curled up on the floor. He picked up his phone.

"Shawn? Are you okay?" Jules asked.

"Guys. Get the hell back here."
