Club.

It is 7:00 pm.

A knock at the door.

Such perfect timing. How ironic.

I open the door. It's the plastic annoying blonde bimbo, with red lipstick and a red dress that shows too much in my opinion.

She's saying something. What is she saying?

I don't know, and I don't care.

I simply smile and nod and walk past her to her car. I pray this won't be a long reunion.

We're inside a club. It's loud and the people are obnoxious.

Nothing like Zach.

"So like, how has life been?" Her face seems genuinely interested.

"Fine. And yours?" I return.

At this, Rachel gains energy; "Omigosh, how funny of you to ask! My life has been utterly amazing! I've got a nice job, a penthouse apartment, and-"

She lifts her hand to my face. A glittering diamond sits on her slender finger.

"I'm engaged!" Big sparkling white teeth between two red lips.

"Wow. Congrats." I give a big painful smile. I could care less.

"Thank you, that means so much to me. And do you got a special someone in your life?" She eagerly questions.

Zach flashes through my mind. "Yeah. Something like that." I blush and look down at my hands.

"Ooh, you'll have to introduce me someday." She giggles.

Out the corner of my eye I see a guy with a head of golden curls. Zach?

I whip my head in it's direction.

It is Zach. I stand up abruptly. "Rachel give me a minute, Kay? I'm going to the restroom."

I don't hear her reply as I hurry in the direction, I saw the guy.

At some point I lose track of him.

 "Crap."  I hiss.

"Looking for something?" A hand lightly grips my shoulder.

I whirl around.

Zach. "Zach! What are you doing here?" I ask bewildered.

"I came out to see you." He whispers against my ear, his hands circling my waist. I shiver.

"M-me?" I stutter. He nods. "Wanna dance?" He offers.

"Absolutely." I giggle. I look around to see where Rachel is.

Nowhere in sight. Oh well.

Zach leads me to the dance floor. The music is fast paced.

I wrap my arms around his neck, face to face, and sway my hips to the beat. My eyes laser his.

Zach whirls me around. Now we're back to chest. I reach my arm back and lightly hold the back of his neck. His hands are now on my hips.

The dance position continuously changes; at some point we end up face to face again.

Sweat coats our skin, giving it a shine in the flashing fluorescent lights. Our breathing is fast, and my heart pounds dangerously.

This is it. I lean in. He leans down.

I close my eyes right before our lips make contact.

I pull him close to me, kissing fervently.

Then I open my eyes. But the man I'm looking at is not Zach.

"Who are you !??" I shout angrily.

The guy seems genuinely confused. "I'm Marcus. I asked if you wanted to dance, and you said sure."

I glare at him, "I don't know what the heck you're talking about, but you're not Zach and this little dance is over." I snarl. I stomp away.

"What the hell man!" He shouts after me.

I ignore him. And stomp towards the exit. "Katie! There you are! I was looking all over for you." She runs up next to me.

"Sorry. I got distracted." I mumble.

"Huh?" She shouts over the music.

"Nothing! Can you take me home I'm tired." I shout, so she can hear me.

"Alright let's go."

~

Once inside, I lay in my bed remembering dancing with Zach.

It felt so.. real.

It couldn't possibly have been my imagination.. Could it?
