Someone New (Chapter One)

Marinette's P.O.V.

"Marinette! Don't forget to clean your room today! You remember what tomorrow is, right?" My excited mother called out from the kitchen of our house above the family bakery.

Of course I knew what tomorrow was! I couldn't wait, but I was nervous as well. Tomorrow was the day we would be... How do I put it? We would be getting an exchange student from the United States of America! She would be living with us... In my room! We had put an extra bed in here and everything.

I was super - excited to meet her, and so was my best friend, Alya. Me and Alya had been friends since the first day of school last year, when she stood up for me, against Chloé, my archenemy. We've been best friends since.

I sighed. "Yes, Mama!" I looked around. My room was fairly neat at the time, everything was in it's correct place, you know. I continued scanning around the room before shrugging. Nothing seemed out of place to me. Then again, I had already cleaned my room multiple times today, taking care of anything that was out of place.

"Marinette, are you sure you're okay with her staying here?" I turned to the trapdoor in my floor to see my bluenette mother. "Of course it is Mama!" She gave me a sort of nervous look before nodding. "That's our girl!" My father spoke, appearing behind her. She spoke up.

"Thank you, Marinette. You're so sweet and kind, allowing someone you don't know to come into your room and invade your privacy." I giggled faintly. "It's no problem Mama! Besides, she's not invading my privacy! It's okay." Both of them nodded, disappearing to run the bakery below.

That's when my kwami, Tikki, spoke up. "They're right, Marinette! It's super-kind of you to do that!" I giggled again, grabbing Tikki and holding her in my hands, causing her to giggle as well. "It's nothing! Besides, we wouldn't want her to end up in a hotel room! Especially if Chloé's gonna be there!" Tikki just giggled again. "You're the best Marinette!" I smiled. "You're the best too, Tikki!" She giggled once again.

"You should go to sleep, Marinette. You have a busy day tomorrow!" I smiled and nodded, glancing out the window, making sure there wasn't an akumatized victim destroying the streets of Paris before changing and climbing into bed, quickly passing out...

(A/N) So this is my first actual story! I hoped you like it, feel free to call me out on any grammatical errors, and... That's just about it! But before I go... A question for my readers! What's a reason to get mad? I need ideas for future villains. Just give me a reason, and I'll make the villain, obviously calling you out as well. Thanks and see ya in the next chapter!
