Chapter 3: The Outcast

"Subject Pariah, son of Elisabeth green. Carrier of the DX1118 virus. Otherwise known as Black Light"

The child was brought into a bright room, in the testing facility he was being raised in.

Well raised may not be the right word. Raised would imply a sense of love, and caring. This child was not loved, or cared for.

He was not viewed as a human being, he was viewed, and treated, as property, as a weapon.

In the middle of the room sat a dog, staring at the child with a happy look on its face wagging its tail.

"Pariah" said a voice on the intercom. "I want you to kill the dog."

Pariah didn't respond.

A group of men and women watched Pariah on a screen in a dark room. One of the men pressed a button on his control panel.

A metal necklace around young Pariah's neck sent an electric shock through the child's body.

"Rrraaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Pariah screamed.

Pariah then looked at the dog. He reached out his hand, and his eyes started to glow red.

The dog started to whimper, then it started freak out. Pain filled the dogs entire body.

Blood started to ooze out of the dogs mouth and eyes, as it gave a pain filled howl.

Then thick fleshy red tentacles burst from the dog, and attached to the walls floor and ceiling. Then in an instant the tentacles retracted toward the dog, ripping out chunks of the drywall making up the room, as the tentacles pulled the large chunks of drywall into the dog at great speed, the dog exploded on impact. More tendrils shot out from the exploding dog. Within seconds the entire room was filled with blood and fleshy tendrils.

"OH MY GOD!" yelled one of the women in the dark room.

One of the men watching puked on the floor.

"Yeah we call that one, the bio bomb" Said another man.

Then a high ranking general walked in. he was old and had only one arm.

"General Randall" one of the men addressed him.

"That was very impressive gentlemen" Said Randall, "I would like a sample of it"

"Can do" said one of the men.

Immediately a scientist walked into the bright room containing Pariah. The scientist was wearing a protective hazmat suit. The scientist grabbed Pariah's hand, took a scissors and cut one of Pariah's fingers off.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Pariah screamed as the scientist cut his finger off.

"What was that for" asked one of the people in the room.

"Relax, look" said another.

They all looked in amazement as Pariah grew a new finger to replace the old one.

The scientist placed the old finger in a box, and left the room.

Pariah looked up at the security cameras with tears in his eyes.

"This is just a child" said one of the people in the room.

"Wrong" Said Randall "It's no child, it's the Black Light Virus."

...

Later that night, Pariah was locked into his holding cell.

He sat and listened to the people talking outside. He heard one of them mention a storm coming.

Suddenly the power went out, and the door to his cell was opened.

Slowly Pariah crept out of the cell. He looked down the hallway and saw a janitor mopping the floor.

The janitor looked up to see pariah standing in the hallway.

"P-P-P" he stammered "Pariah!"

Pariah felt the collar around his neck. The blackout had caused it to shut off.

He ripped his collar off, and through it on the ground.

"Pariah" said the janitor "What they've been doing to you is wrong, it's very wrong, but I had nothing to do with it."

Pariah stared at the janitor, expressionless.

"Now kid!" the janitor pleaded, "I have a family of my own you know. I can help you, I can take you away from this place, raise you as one of my own. Come on Pariah, you can still have a normal life, and a real name! Don't do this Pariah!"

Pariah's fingers morphed into long razor sharp claws.

"AW SHIT!" screamed the janitor as he turned the other way and ran.

But Pariah was too fast. He leapt onto the janitor's back and started slashing into his flesh with his claws.

The janitor tried to get the mutant childlike creature off of him, but Pariah slashed at his neck.

The janitor's head fell to the floor, and his body moments after.

"There he is!" cried a solder, pointing an assault rifle at Pariah.

Pariah morphed his right arm into a metallic serrated whip with a spike at the end. He through the whip at the soldier, and it nailed him right between the eyes.

Pariah then yanked the soldiers head clean off.

He walked over to the soldiers head, picked it up, and took a bite out of it, like an apple.

"We got a containment breach!" cried a solder as a group of soldiers marched down the dark hallway.

"I don't know about this man!" Said one of the solders, "I've heard stories about this Pariah thing!"

"Keep your head on soldier" Said one of the soldiers on front. Just then something ripped the soldiers head off.

"IT'S HIM!" Cried the soldier as the fired into the darkness.

Suddenly something rushed past them, and they were all cut in half.

The man from the observation room, who had been giving Pariah the orders we saw in the beginning of the chapter sat in that room. Watching the security monitors as the chaos unfolded.

One of the men appeared behind the men.

"He's escaped" Said the second man.

"We need to get everyone we can, do get it back!" Said the first man, "That thing is worth more than the life of every man in the god damn facility"

"I know he is" Said the first man.

"Yes I... wait he?" The first man looked at the second man, his eyes widened as he realized what was going on "PARIAH!"

Having consumed the second man, and taken his form. Pariah plunged his fist into the first man's stomach and ripped out his intestines. He then wrapped the man's intestines around his throat, and strangled him with his own intestines.

"You expecting an apology?" The man said, "Well you ain't gonna get it you little bastard, you may kill every fucker in this damn building and escape, but you will never be human! You will always be a freak Pariah. That's why we call you Pariah, you're an outcast! You will always be an outcast!"

Pariah then broke the man's neck, and changed back to his child form.

He eventually fought his way to the exit. He ran toward the exit door, and rammed through the two inch thick steal out into the rain.

Once outside, Pariah fell to his knees, looked up into the sky and let out a triumphant scream.

"YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

...

Many years Later...

Officer Chris, a rugged buff man, with short brown hair, a scruffy beard, and a warm smile, was heading to a crime scene with his new partner in crime fighting, Bobby Santiago.

Bobby, was a short thin Hispanic man, with an easy going attitude.

"Bobby you look upset," Said Chris "Is something wrong"

"No" Said Bobby looking out the car window. "Just... Just got a lot on my mind."

"Is it about that girl? Lori was it?" Said Chris.

"Kind of..." Bobby replied.

"So what" Said Chris, "did she dump you?"

"No of course not!" Said Bobby, "It's..." He sighed "it's her brother Lincoln"

"Lincoln?" Said Chris, showing an interest in what his partner had to say. "like the president? What's going on with him?"

"Yeah, he's her younger brother, he uh... passed away a few days ago"

"Oh... well I'm sorry to hear that, is she alright."

"Not really dude, she's pretty depressed about it."

"How... did it happen?"

"He got really sick" Bobby replied "cancer or something. He... he was like family to me too you know I..." Bobby started to tear up.

"Hey" Said Chris, "Maybe some tunes will cheer you up" he then turned on the radio. "oh man I love this song" he then started singing along with the radio, really badly. "and I I I I'm HOOKED ON A FEELING! BA BA BA BA! I'm high on believing, that you're in love with me! Common sing with me Bobby."

"Hey" said Bobby, "Isn't this from that Guardians of the Galaxy movie?"

"Oh you know it," Said Chris, "My favorite movie of all time, man"

"Lincoln loved that movie" Bobby said in a sad voice,

"Oh, do you want me to turn it off?"

"No no, keep it on" Said Bobby, closing his eyes, thinking of the time he and Lori took Lincoln to see Guardians of the Galaxy.

He seemed so happy back then, not a care in the world, and full of energy. Now, he was gone.

They soon arrived at the crime scene, a hotel down town.

"So what happened?" Bobby asked, "Did the place get robbed? Was someone littering?"

"Someone was murdered." Chris replied, as they got out of the car.

"Oh my gosh," Said Bobby, "Who was murdered?"

"Everyone" Said Chris as they walked through the door.

Bobby gasped at what he saw in the hotel lobby. The room was covered in blood and mangled body parts.

The dead bodies looked less like they had been murdered by a human, and more like they'd been mauled by a bear.

Chris knelt down by one of the victims, who had been sliced clean in half.

"Man, what could have done this" Chris pondered. "Some kind of sword, or giant blade"

"Hey come check this guy out" Said another officer.

Chris walked over to another dead body, whom had its skull crushed in.

"Who or what the fuck could have done this"

"I dunno," said the other cop "but whoever it was... had access to some powerful hardware to be able to perform a massacre like this, without anyone noticing"

"yeah" Said Chris, "and whoever it was... was one sick son of a bitch"

Bobby ran over to a trash can and puked in it. He looked up from the trash can and screamed "Aaaaaaahhhhhh" as he saw a disembodied head, pinned to the wall by some sort of bony spike.

An officer walked over, and pulled the spike out of the dead man's face. The head fell to the ground with a sickening plop, and started to roll a bit.

Again bobby puked.

"What is that" said Chris looking at the bony spike in the other officer's hand.

"Don't know" Said the officer, "we're gonna have to take it into the lab, and have it analyzed"

"Come on Bobby, let's check the rest of the building" Said Chris.

"Do we have to?" Bobby moaned.

"Come on, I'm sure this is the worst of it." They walked down the hallway, to find the first room. "Well, looks like I was wrong"

Inside the room, a woman was strung up by some sort of thick, red, fleshy, web like substance. The strands of red goo had ripped the lady's arms off, as well as ripping her in half. The woman's body parts were suspended in mid air by the red gooey tendrils.

"oh my gosh" Bobby exclaimed, he brought his hands to his mouth and his face turned green. "That smell"

"Yeah that's" Said Chris, "That's death. That's the smell of rotting flesh"

"Who could have done this?!?!" Said Bobby.

"Bobby." Said Chris, "I know this is going to sound crazy, so let's keep this between us but." His voice got a little darker. "What we are dealing with here it's uh... I'm not sure if it's actually human."

"What do you mean?"

"You ever read Lovcraft?"

"I've heard the name." Bobby replied, "he's the guy who wrote about Cthulu right? The giant squid dude."

"Yeah." Said Chris, "feels like a scene out of one of Lovecraft's stories. Like whoever, or whatever did this... may be beyond our understanding."

"Or from that John Carpenter movie" Bobby scratched his head, "The Thing"

"Oh That one's a classic." Chris replied, then he yelled back down the hallway to the other cops, "Hey guys come in here!"

One of the other cops walked into the room "JESUS CHRIST!" The cop exclaimed as he saw the horrible site in the room.

"Can we get a sample of this too?" Chris requested, "get it to the lab. I wanna know what this shit is, and what the fuck could have done this."

...

It was about midnight, a woman was walking to her car, with an important document in her hands. She sat in the driver's seat of her car and looked at the yellow envelope in her hands. It read: "Classified, Black Watch".

It was then that she noticed the pair of glowing red eyes looking back at her through her rear view mirror.

"You've grown" Said the woman.

The figure in the back seat remained silent.

"Been having yourself a little fun these past few years?" The woman said.

Silence.

"You know I never agreed with what they did to you." The woman said.

More silence.

"I know why you're here, Pariah" The woman said, "Just fuckin' do it, and get it over with."

SPLSH! A large blade burst through the woman's chest and her blood sprayed all over the car. She coughed up blood as the glowing red tentacles wrapped around her, and consumed her.

...

Bobby returned home after a disturbing day at his new job as a cop. He walked through the crowded halls of his new home. He his mother and his little sister Ronnie Anne, had recently moved in with their extended family.

In addition to his new cop job, Bobby was also working with his grandfather in his store.

Bobby walked upstairs and saw Ronnie Anne in her room crying.

"Hey you ok sis?" he asked.

"Go away Bobby," Ronnie Anne snapped, "I wanna be alone"

"Oh uh... ok I'll just close this door for ya." He then closed the door to Ronnie Anne's room. Truth was, after what he had seen he wanted to be alone too. He walked to his room, and lay down in his bed, and stared at the ceiling for a while.

Soon he drifted off to sleep.

...

A little less than a week earlier, Ronnie Anne had come home from school, and happily ran up to her room.

She was not good at making friends, and had made none since she moved to the big city. She was about to Skype call her only real friend Lincoln Loud.

"Hey Lincoln" She said as his face appeared on her computer screen for a live video chat. "You don't look so good, are you ok?"

It was true, Lincoln had looked terrible that day. His face was pale, he had bags under his eyes, his hair was a mess, and he was still in his pajamas.

"yeah, no I uh..." Lincoln started, "I... I don't think I can talk to you any more Ronnie"

"WHAT?!?!" cried Ronnie, "Why not"

"Well you see I uh..." Lincoln was getting nervous.

"Is it another girl? Do you have a girlfriend now?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"Well I uh..." Lincoln was starting to break out in a nervous sweet. Suddenly they heard Bobby crying about something in the background.

"Lincoln" Ronnie Anne started to smile, and giggle a bit. "It's ok if you see someone else, it's not like we were officially dating anyway"

"Huh? What that's not"

"Lincoln" Said Ronnie Anne with a smile, as Bobby cried in the background. "Look, if you wanna see someone else, I'm just fine with that. I'm even thrilled for you, I'm happy you're happy. No matter what, we will always be friends"

"RONNIE ANNE!!!!" Lincoln snapped, "Listen to me!!!!"

Ronnie Anne became silent.

"I'm... I'm sick Ronnie Anne" Lincoln said in a calm voice.

"well how sick" Ronnie Anne said, once again noticing how Lincoln looked. What was most shocking however, that she hadn't noticed before, was how heavy he was breathing. It was as if he had run a mile, he was sweating too.

"Well how sick?" Ronnie Anne asked, "are... are you gonna be ok?"

"I'm really sick Ronnie" Lincoln said, as he started to cough a little, "I'm not going to get better"

"what?" Ronnie Anne had a look of shock on her face.

"I'm dying, Ronnie Anne."

"What NO! You can't be serious! You can't die!" Ronnie started to cry. "please tell me you're lying! Please tell me it's another woman!"

Just then Bobby walked in the room, holding his cell phone I his hands, his eyes filled with tears.

"Hey sis" he said in soft and sad voice, "I just got off the phone with Lori, and uh... this may be a bit hard for you to hear but... Lincoln?" Bobby then noticed Lincoln on Ronnie Anne's screen. "Lincoln, I heard what's happened to you... I'm so sorry bro!"

Lincoln just looked down at his feet, with a sad look.

"Bobby?" Ronnie asked, "is it true? Is Lincoln dying?"

"I'm afraid so sis..." Bobby said as he hugged his grieving little sister.

"NO! I..." Ronnie Anne cried, "I... I don't want him to die!!!!"

Bobby and Ronnie and both cried their eyes out for a few moments. Lincoln sat there and watched from the other side of the screen. Tears ran down his face as he watched his friends weep over his inevitable demise.

Soon Bobby left the room. Ronnie Anne was left alone with Lincoln.

For a moment the two children sat in silence, staring at each other through their computers.

"So..." Ronnie started. "I'm never going to see you again?"

"I... I guess not" Said Lincoln.

"Are you scared?"

"I'm terrified"

"are you in pain?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"Well," Lincoln started to explain, "yeah, my stomach hurts, my head is throbbing, all my joints are really sore. The Doctors gave me some pain killers to help, but they're working less and less. The pain's only gonna get worse until, I... until it's time."

Ronnie Anne stared at her friend, her poor sick friend, with a sad and worried look on her face.

"Lately" Lincoln started, "I've been throwing up everything I eat." He started to cry, "I'm so hungry, but I can't eat anything, I can't keep it down!"

Ronnie Anne then noticed how sunken in Lincoln's face was.

"Oh man, I'm so sorry Lincoln" said Ronnie Anne,

"It's not your fault Ronnie Anne, don't... don't feel bad"

"How can I not feel bad Lincoln" Said Ronnie, "you're perhaps the best friend I've ever had, and to see you in so much pain..."

"I... I know I... I have to go."

"Lincoln no don't!" but it was too late, Lincoln had turned off his lap top, ending the call.

That was the last time Ronnie Anne had ever seen her friend alive.

...

What came within a week was even worse.

Bobby had gotten a call from Lori. It was the call he did NOT want to get, but he knew it was coming.

"I'm... I'm so sorry babe" He said with his eyes full of tears. "I'm so sorry"

"What's, what's going on?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"Ronnie..." Bobby said, in a soft voice. "I... I just got off the phone with Lori, and uh, Lincoln uh..."

"Is he going to be ok?" Ronnie asked with a hopeful look.

"I..." Bobby tried to choke out his next words. The next sentence was perhaps the hardest thing he had ever said, "I...I... I'm sorry sis, he... he passed away. He's gone."

Ronnie Anne's eyes started to swell up with tears, and her lip started to tremble. Bobby knelt down and held his little sister in his arms. "I'm so sorry"

Ronnie Anne held him tight as she continued to cry.

...

Bobby woke with a start. It was the middle of the night, it was raining. He got up and looked out the window.

"GAAAHHHHHH!" Bobby screamed as he looked out his window to see a pair of red glowing eyes staring back at him.

The figure was entirely cloaked in darkness, but as it stared at him. Bobby felt something familiar, like he had seen this figure before.

"Bobby? Are you ok" Ronnie Anne walked into the room.

"Ronnie Anne" Bobby was out of breath and sweating. He looked back at the window, the figure was gone. "Are... are you ok? Did you have a bad dream?"

"Actually I came because I heard you yelling, and I wanted to see if you were alright."

"Aww thanks sis."

"Why did you yell?"

Bobby looked out of his window, "I guess... I guess I just had a bad dream."

"You miss him too?"

"Yeah"

"I..." Ronnie Anne stammered, "I didn't even get to say goodbye."

"I know" Bobby responded as he starred out of his window. "I know"

...

The next day, Bobby and Chris got a call to investigate another crime scene. It was an abandoned car; the inside of the car was flooded with blood.

As one of the cops opened the door, a waterfall of blood poured out onto the pavement. It was like one of those drinking and driving PSAs where the cop would pull over a drunk driver, and bear would pour out as the driver opened the window, only this time it was blood.

Bobby gagged at both the site, and the smell.

Chris leaned into the car to take a look. "I don't see a body anywhere." He said, then he found a piece of paper folded up on the dash board, "hello, what's this." He picked up the paper and unfolded it.

On it was written one word "pariah".

"Pariah?" Chris said. "yo Bobby, this mean anything to you?"

Bobby looked at the paper. "I have never heard that word in my life"

"Huh," Said Chris, "Well it means 'outcast'"

"Outcast?"

"could be a lead" suggested Chris. "But what could it mean?"

"maybe it has something to do with the guy that did this." Bobby suggested.

"Perhaps" Said Chris, he then turned to one of the other officers. "I want you to search our database and cross reference the word Pariah. I need to know if there is anybody using this, an alias, a gang, an underground crime ring, anything."

"what do you think he did with the body" Bobby asked.

"I don't know" Said Chris. "but the forensics team said that there was too much blood at the hotel last night for the amount of bodies found. I think we may be dealing with the same guy here."

"What do you think he's doing with them?" Bobby asked.

"Who knows"

"You don't think he's... eating them?"

"Maybe"

Bobby ran to the nearest trash can and threw up in it.

Just then a black military helicopter flew toward the scene.

"ah right on time." Said Chris.

"Who is it?" Bobby asked.

"Well" said Chris. "Those samples we recovered from the last crime scene have all our smartest forensic specialists stumped. So we decided to call in someone who may be the smartest man alive. We didn't want to resort to this. This guy doesn't work well with others, some say he's a mad man, but he may be the best hope we got to..." Then the helicopter flew off into the distance never to be heard from again.

"huh" Said Chris, "guess that wasn't our guy after all."

Just then a glowing green portal opened up behind them.

Bobby, and Chris turned around to look at the portal, as an old man with pale skin, blue-ish white hair, a white lab coat, over a blue shirt, and drool on his chin, walked out.

"Someone called about s-burrrrp-some red shit or something" the man said.

"Bobby" Said Chris, "I would like to introduce you, to Rick Sanchez"

"Nice to meet you Rick" said Bobby, holding out his arm to shake Rick's hand, and giving him a warm smile.

Rick looked at Bobby's hand for a few seconds "Y-Yeah sure, whatever." He said in an apathetic tone as he shook Bobby's hand. Then he took a drink from a flask he was holding. "Let's get this over with"

...

That night, Bobby and Chris were on their way home.

"What a day huh?" Said Chris.

"Yeah" Said Bobby. "So this killer... we got a name for him"

"Well" Said Chris, "The only lead we have is the word Parah. So we've been calling him, Pariah, or the Out Cast Killer. You know I think something big is coming"

"You think so"

"yeah real end of the world stuff" Chris replied, "hey how about we get a bite to eat before I drop you off at home"

They stopped at the nearest diner.

"Can I take your order" asked the waitress with a friendly smile.

They ordered their food.

"Be right up." Said the waitress. Then she left.

"You know this diner has some of the best baby back ribs in the state." Said Chris.

"Really?" Bobby replied, "Guess I'll have to be the judge of that then."

"Say you think that waitress is single?" Asked Chris.

"Only one way to find out," Said Bobby, "but you do know I'm spoken for."

"You sure are, Bobby bo bo bear" Chris laughed.

"yeah, ha ha, Lori and I, things are pretty serious." Bobby said.

"You know" said Chris. "A lot of guys joke about how being in a relationship is like being in prison. You know you see things like that cringe worthy facebook meme were the guy sees the bear trap, and the fly trap and wonders how bears and flies fall for something like that. Then next panel shows him with a woman. Like oh ha ha being with a woman is like being in some sort of death trap. Don't listen to any of that kind of bull shit Bobby. What you got with Lori, that's something special kid, enjoy it. Not everybody gets what you got you know."

"Yeah." Said Bobby with a smile, "Hey, hold that thought for a moment, I gotta take a leak."

Bobby got up, and went to the bathroom.

He did his business and went to go wash his hands. As he washed his hand, he notice some blood smeared on the door of one of the stalls behind him. He slowly opened the door, and gasped at what he saw.

A man was sitting on the toilet, dead. His stomach was ripped open and his guts spilled out on the floor. On the wall behind the man, was a message written in blood.

It read; "Are you fallowing me Bobby?"

Bobby ran out of that bathroom as fast as he could.

"Chris we gotta get out of here!" He said, his face was full of sweat, and he was hyperventilating. "The killer, he's here!"

Chris got up suddenly, "You got your gun on you?"

"What?"

"We're cops, we gotta take this guy in"

"Oh yeah uh... shit man, we need to call in some back up" Bobby started to go for the front door, but the waitress from before got in front of them, blocking their way.

"Oh I can't let you leave" She said. "You haven't gotten your food yet."

"Uh... mam" Said Chris, "we have reason to believe that there is a murder suspect on the premises"

Suddenly the woman's eyes started to glow red. "Officers, you are messing with forces beyond your control"

"Uh... Chris" Said Bobby,

"Yeah" Said Chris,

"About before"

"Yeah"

"Somehow I don't think she's your type"

"Hey don't knock it 'til you try it" Chris said jokingly.

Just then, fleshy red tentacles exploded out of the woman's body. The tentacles grabbed onto every chair and table in the diner and pulled them back to the woman at blinding speeds. The woman then exploded, blowing up the entire building.

"ugh" cried Chris as he pulled himself from the rubble, "You ok Bobby?"

"I think so" Said Bobby, "oh everything hurts"

At that moment, the creature walked into the burning building.

It looked like a man, about 6 feet tall or more. However its entire body was covered in some sort of black shell.

It looked around the rubble, until its head fixed on the officers. It was then that they noticed it didn't have a face, somehow it was looking straight at them without any eyes.

"Run" whispered Chris.

Bobby slowly got up and tried to head for the door. But the creature started to walk toward him.

"HAY ASS HOLE" Cried Chris as he got up, picked up a plank of wood, and smashed it into the creatures back.

The creature spun around to look at Chris. It picked him up by the throat, and slammed him into the counter.

Chris took out his gun and started shooting at the creature but the bullets just bounced off the hard shell.

Then the creature's right arm morphed into a giant blade, a little less than the size of the creature's entire body. It again picked Chris up by his neck.

"Hey" Bobby said as he aimed his gun at the creature, his hands trembling.

The creature looked at Bobby, while still holding Chris.

"Get out of here Bobby" Chris choked out.

Then the creature jammed its blade arm into Chris's crotch, and continued to cut up through his stomach spilling his intestines on the floor. Glowing red tentacles slithered out of the creatures body, wrapped around Chris, and consumed him.

"Nnnnooooooooo!!!!!!" Bobby Screamed.

Then the creature turned its attention on Bobby.

"OH FUCK!" Bobby screamed as he made a dash for the gaping hole that used to be a door.

He managed to make it to the squad car. He put his keys in the ignition, and turned it. The car didn't start. The creature walked out of the burning building and toward the car, and Bobby.

"come on, come on." He repeated as he turned the key again and again. Soon the car started.

The radio blasted "Roll the windows down, WHOO HOO!"

"Haven't heard this song in years" Bobby commented, as Windows Down, by Big Time Rush played on the radio.

The creature broke through the glass window and grabbed at bobby. Quickly Bobby grabbed the shot gun from the car, and shot at the creature. The force of the blast caused it to let go of Bobby.

Bobby slammed his foot on the gas and speed off.

Bobby speed down a dark and deserted highway, as Big Time Rush blasted in his ears. He looked in his rear view mirror and his heart sank, as he saw the creature running after him. He looked at his speedometer and saw he was going at around 60 miles an hour, yet that thing, was able to keep up.

"What the fuck is that thing?!?!" Bobby wondered.

The creature ran up to the side of the Bobby's car, and rammed into it, causing him to swerve off the road, and crash into a small forest beside the highway.

Bobby woke up, to find a tree branch had impaled him through his stomach. He spat up some blood, and tried to speak but he couldn't, he could barely even breath. He sat helpless as the humanoid creature walked to the car. As it entered the shadows of the forest, its back shell melted away to reveal its true form.

Bobby couldn't make out any of its facial features, other than the red glowing eyes.

By its height and build, he could tell it was male.

Bobby managed to choke out one word;

"Pariah?"

Bobby could see the figure give a crooked grin. "See you later, bo bo bear" it said, In a smooth almost soothing voice, with a slight southern accent.

Then it leapt straight into the sky like a rocket and flew away.

Bobby lost consciousness as the Big Time Rush song ended.

"WHOO HOO!"

...

A group of about four young kids were playing in the park late at night. It was getting really late, they should have gone home by now, but they were having too much fun kicking a soccer ball around, and joking.

Suddenly they heard something massive fly over heard and land behind them.

The kids turned around and gasped in horror as they saw the tall dark figure, with red glowing eyes move toward them.

"Oh crap RUN!" said one of the boys.

The kids ran as fast as they could. Then ran so fast that one of them dropped his phone and didn't even realize it.

The figure walked up to the phone, and picked it up. He turned the phone on, and dialed a number he had recently learned.

"H-hello" Said the voice of a nervous little boy on the other end.

"So" Said the figure, "you're Mercer's newest pet."
