Mission 19
I sat down on my bed and squeezed my bat. I needed to give it a name. "Hey, what's up?" Olivia asked, walking in without knocking. "What day is it?" "Thursday. Why? That's an odd question. "Well I had no idea how long I'd been asleep."
"Oh. I'm sorry. We should have told you right away." "I should have asked right away." I replied, and we laughed. "Wednesday huh..." I muttered. "No I said Thursday." "Yes but yesterday was Wednesday. I guess I'll name it Wednesday then."
"You're gonna name your bat Wednesday? Like in The Adams Family?" Polly asked. "Yeah." I replied. Emil walked in behind Polly. "How do you even know about that show? It's old." He asked. "I saw it on Horrible Histories." "Of course you did."
Josh said, walking into the room. "Why Wednesday anyway?" Liv asked. "Because my first visit to a fair was on Wednesday, I met my first friend, Porter, who won it for me on Wednesday, and Wednesday was the first time I really had fun." They were silent. "Oh..." "What's wrong?"
"Nothing I guess." "Does that mean you consider Porter your friend and not us?" "Yes." They all began to flail around, over dramatically, and Josh wheezed, "So honest!" I laughed. "You guys are so over dramatic. You make me laugh. For real."
"What does that mean? For real?" Polly asked. "I'm not honest. But mostly I liked the flailing!" I laughed again. "Never mind. Polly sighed. "She's even honest about not being honest!" Josh cried. "That doesn't make sense Josh." Emil and I said at the same time. Josh laughed.
"How?" "If she's too honest to lie, then she's lying when she says she says she's not honest but if she's lying then she's telling the truth and so on." We all laughed, as Emil explained what we all already knew. "What's so funny?" We all laughed even harder.
After a lot more laughing, I got up. "Dinner time." "Okay let's go." Liv said. We all exited. "I have to go get Porter. See you later." "What? You're just leaving us?!" Polly cried. "Yes." "That's cold." Josh replied, shaking his head.
"Really? I'm finding it quite warm in here. Are you standing under a vent?" The group laughed, and I left them that way, to go find my friend. I knocked on his door. "Wanna come to dinner?" I called. "Yeah."
He opened the door and we started towards the cafeteria. "I don't really know where anywhere is. Wanna give me the official tour after we eat?" "Sure! Of course I will. But shouldn't your team be the ones to do that?"
"If they were gonna do it, they would have done it already." We entered the cafeteria, and stepped into line. Today we had tomato soup and grilled cheese with a salad, which actually looked quite appetizing. We also got cake. "But-"
"Besides, you're my friend, I want you to do it." Porter smiled. "Okay." We sat down at our table and I handed him my cake. "But it's our master's birthday today. The cake is super good.
"Birthday? Oh right. You people celebrate those? Of course you do, you're such goody goody over achievers." I said, and Porter laughed. "That's your veiw of us then? Well I guess we are goody goodies, but not all of of us are over achievers. You happened to get-"
My team sat down around us, and began to munch. "Bwaaat ohhhh woo guzzz talkon bout?" Liv asked, her mouth full of food. "What?" "She means what are you guys talking 'bout." Emil translated for his half sister. Porter had lowered his head when the group sat down.
"D-d-do you guys w-want me t-t-to leave?" "No." I said before they could answer. "And we weren't talking about anything important to you. Don't be nosey." Liv looked annoyed.
"Well-" she started. "Olivia, Josh, Ivy, Polly, and Emil, you are needed in your boss's office." "Sorry. I already have plans." Porter laughed. "You can't just brush off the boss like that. We'll do the tour tomorrow." "Fine. Sorry about this." "It's okay."
Special thanks to my good friend Grayp002 for the great character, Polly!
