Mission 18

"At my old HQ, you could fail anything and everything. Once-"  "We don't need any of your depressing HQ stories right now.  I'm still struggling to get over the parent thing."

"Okay.  I just don't have much else to talk about, considering that's where I lived for three years, before I was rudely kidnapped and brought to a goody goody factory."  I muttered this, because I only wanted Olivia to hear me.

I stacked my tray on top of the trash can.  Olivia hooked my elbow, and dragged me out of the cafeteria.

"You don't like it better here?"  She asked.  I shrugged.  "That was my home.  You didn't ask if I wanted to come.  You shot me and I woke up here.  I've got a bad opinion of you, thats kind of keeping me from having an unbiased opinion.  Please don't tell the others about this.   I still want to be your friend."  I lied.  Or I thought I was lying.  It didn't really feel like it. It felt like a half truth...

Porter rushed up to us.  "Hey!  Why'd you leave me!  You said after we ate, I could pick what we do."  "Oh.  Right.  Bye Olivia."  "Call me Liv.  I like it better when my friends call me that.  I don't even try with Emil though."  I smiled, though I was shocked on the inside.  "Okay, Liv."  "That's my name, don't wear it out."

I laughed.  "I'll try not to."  "Wow.  You two are really getting along now." "I guess." "I have Sing It on my wii.  Let's do karaoke."  "Carrie-Yolkie?" I asked.  "Oh wait!  I know what that is!  You can buy that with privilege tickets at my old HQ. I never saw the point though."

Porter opened the door. His room was a gigantic mess. "Porter, I don't sing." "Sure you do." He plugged in two microphones. "No, really I don't." "Would you rather play just dance?" "Yes. But there's no room to dance in this mess!"

Porter laughed, and shoved the piles of dirty clothes to the side with his foot. "He turned on the game, and picked the song; What Does The Fox Say. The song started and I groaned. "Are you kidding me? This is from a little kids book isn't it?"

"What are you talking about? This song is awesome!" I then realized that the screen was also telling me to sing. "And the elephant goes toot- You tricked me! Now I have to sing and dance!" Porter laughed. "You don't have to sing."

"But there's one sound that no one knows- It says to on the screen!" By the end of the song, we were laughing too hard to sing or dance. We did Ghost Busters next, and that song had the same ending. "Wanna watch a movie on Netflix?"

"Sure. I have only ever seen one movie. It was Inspector Gadget. Ironic huh?" Porter laughed. "Yeah. Let's watch Ghostbusters then." "Okay. Is it funny like inspector Gadget?" "Maybe not the same kind of humor, but it definitely is funny.  Porter was right.  The movie was very funny.  The parts I found humorous were different than where Porter laughed.  I thought perhaps I didn't understand the jokes.

"Wanna go to the cafe for lunch?"  Porter asked when the movie was over.  "Porter, you know I haven't gotten any money yet.  I feel bad making my friends pay for me all the time.  Could we maybe wait until after my first mission?"

"Sure, okay.  But-"  "Thanks Porter, I have a feeling it won't be long."  "Ivy?"  "Yeah?"  I asked, as I stepped outside his room.  "Don't feel bad about your friends doing things for you.  We do it because we're your friends, and we want to.  Just say thanks."

"Okay.  Thanks Porter.  But I still don't want to go to the cafe with you. I'm not hungry."  Porter laughed.  "Okay.  See you later Ivy."  "Bye." As I walked away, I wondered about Porter. He was awkward around my team today, but he was not awkward with me. I let the subject go. It was not of importance.
