Lorcan drove her home, and they said goodbye with a tight hug. The embrace transmitted the serenity Agatha craved for the past days, her fear of disappointing her friend was scared away by the tenderness present in his gesture.
The minutes passed so fast that she couldn't even change her clothes before the sound of the doorbell broke into the room. The instant Ellis got inside the house he glanced at the jacket she was wearing.
"Nice jacket," he said after saying his greetings.
"It's Lorcan's jacket," answered Agatha, extending her arms so her boyfriend could take a better look. "I was going to change it, I don't want it to get dirty."
A frown crossed the young man's face, the previous admiration for the piece of clothing vanished.
"Now that I see it up close I don't think it suits you. I have one that would be better for you." He said.
"I think I look great," she retorted. "But it's true that it suits Lorcan better."
Agatha slipped into her room, escaping from her boyfriend's reply. With uttermost care, she laid the jacket on her bed before choosing one of her own.
When she returned to the living room, she was surprised by Ellis who closed the distance between them and wrapped his arms around her waist. A shiver went up her spine and she almost pushed him to get out of the unfamiliar touch.
"I forgot to give you something," he said in a playful tone.
"Really? What could it be?"
The young man looked directly at her, his gaze transmitted an immense passion. She closed her eyes and waited for the impact that never came, instead, he met her lips in a soft kiss.
"I'll leave the best for later" explained Ellis before taking one of his girlfriend's hands in his. "It's better if we get going, we can't be late."
He guided her to the truck, then he opened the door for her to get inside. Once the boy began driving Agatha averted her attention to the landscape visible through the window as she moved her feet at the rhythm of a song that has been on her mind since morning. Not many minutes passed before she felt warmth resting on her left hand, she glanced in that direction and noticed Ellis' fingers intertwined with hers.
During the trip they remained silent, the girl didn't want to break the pleasant atmosphere. The calming presence of her boyfriend was enough for her to enjoy the journey.
Ellis parked the truck in the area of the docks. As they got out of the vehicle Agatha was captivated by the beauty of the reflection of the sunset over the water. While the young man led the way she lost herself in the sound of the sea and the view of the clear sky.
"I hope you like boats," said Ellis, stopping his steps.
At the end of the dock, waiting for them was a white yacht. Agatha's mouth remained open while the words she wanted to say got stuck in her throat. It was her first time being so close to a boat like that one. Sure, she lived in a maritime village, which means that the fisherman's boat or wooden canoes were common currency, but the fancy ones were reserved for tourists.
"That's a yacht," she whispered, her eyes never leaving the vehicle.
Ellis let out a laugh before helping his girlfriend get on the boat. An old man welcomed them and introduced himself as the pilot. He showed them the bow before he walked away to start with his job.
"It's breathtaking," commented Agatha as she observed the horizon.
She leaned her body against the railing and closed her eyes. The sensation of the wind hitting her skin refreshed her mind and the sound of the seagulls made her smile.
"It's certainly breathtaking," agreed Ellis while his gaze rested on his companion. "Our food is here, we should eat before it gets cold."
On the center of the bow, there was a circle table decorated with a red tablecloth and a vase with roses inside. The couple took their respective seats and eyed the food prepared for them.
"I love lasagna," Agatha cheered, clapping her hands.
"I know, that's the reason why I asked for it." Ellis gave her a sincere smile. "I'm glad to see you enjoying the surprise. I wanted to celebrate the new status of our relationship in a special way."
"This is fantastic, and I'm not talking only about the food," said the young woman after taking a bite of the lasagna. "I can't describe how amazing this is, still you didn't have to do this much."
"You deserve it. And I'm also being selfish. I wished to take you on a date that's so perfect to make you forget about all the dates you had before." He caressed his girlfriend's left hand as he took a sip from his glass of wine.
"I won't deny that this would be a date hard to forget."
"Did I mention before how happy I am that you're mine?"
"I don't think so," answered Agatha, her lips turning into a radiant smile.
"Well, I'm extremely happy. And I promise you that I won't let anything or anyone come between us. "
The intensity hidden in his eyes in that instant exceeded any other feeling he ever showed to Agatha. Her voice ended up lost between her thoughts, she couldn't do anything more than stay silent and embrace the weakness holding her body.
Ellis allowed her to process his words for the rest of the diner. They savored the banquet under the light of the shining stars and the ethereal glow of the moon. At some point in the night, romantic music began to sound, a simple detail that called their conscience back.
"Would you allow me this dance?" Asked the young man, offering his hand for her to take.
"It'll be my pleasure."
Ellis escorted his girlfriend to the spot where the light of the moon shone brighter. Slowly he wrapped his arms around her waist while Agatha hugged his neck. The height difference forced the boy to lower his body towards her.
They moved to the rhythm of the music, Ellis was in charge of guiding their steps. Agatha thanked that she didn't have to think about the next movement because her mind fell into the trap of her boyfriend's presence.
His masculine smell captivated her, and the feeling of his body against hers created a prison she didn't want to escape. Ellis owned every corner of her mind, and no thought was bigger than her desire of tasting his addicting lips.
In a rush of courage, Agatha stood on the tip of her feet and kissed the young man. Her movements were shy at the beginning but after he returned the kiss she won confidence.
Ellis moved one of his hands to hold the right side of her face and then he took control. His lips claimed hers, passion was present in his movements.
Heat traveled at an impressive speed throughout Agatha's body, if it wasn't for Ellis' hand pressed against her waist, her waist would have already given up.
Once they broke the kiss she had to take a moment to calm down, her lips looked swollen and her cheeks were tainted red.
"Did you miss my kisses?" Asked Ellis with a smirk present on his face. "Don't worry doll, I have plenty more for you today."
For the rest of the date he made sure to deliver his promise. Agatha's emotions kept jumping the entire night. A part of her was glad when the time to come back home came, not because she wasn't enjoying it but because she felt about to combust.
For once in many weeks her life was wonderful. She hoped that it wasn't only an illusion.
