Did she make the right choice? The growls that were filling the air cut into her confidence, a part of her told her to trust in Lorcan's power, the other suggested that no one would be able to defeat the beast by themselves.

The hardest part wasn't facing the consequences of her actions, but pretending that everything was fine. She had to be stronger, between her and Agatha she was the one with the largest experience when it came to facing demons, she felt forced to set an example.

Between the piles of suggestions thrown to her by her mind, she chose the one between her reach and, in an insecure movement, she held Agatha's hand between hers.

"Thanks," said the librarian as she squeezed the other young woman's hand.

Inside the cocoon made by each other's company, they found a little spark of comfort. The loud noises lowered their intensity, the song of their heartbeats slowed down. Then, like a breath of fresh air, Flora received a message from the flowers: the help was there.

She asked the tree to move one of the branches away, once it did they were blinded by the sudden sunlight. It took some minutes for their eyes to get used to the new stimuli, to get used to the action in front of them.

Gellert and Bertram joined the fight, even with them in the picture the demon had the advantage. The control he showed over his body was exceptional, he moved with ease as if he had an eternity of practice.

The firefighter tried to stop him using threads made with his blood, but the wolf pulverized them in seconds. Bertram made some cuts on the beast's back with his knives; he was able to reach his enemy thanks to the portal he created, he would open one just above the demon and he crossed it with his fist to attack. At last, the damage they did was superficial.

The brutal dance continued, from Flora's perspective, the increasing slowness of member strikes became evident.

"Dad, you have to do it."

Bertram's words surprised Flora.

"We don't have any other option," he insisted.

Gellert nodded, the sign indicated to his son some message that Flora couldn't understand. The man raised both of his hands, and after some seconds he closed them. At the same moment, the youngest one opened a portal behind the demon.

The firefighter started trembling, she couldn't see his expression as only his back was in view. The wolf let out a muffled growl before he began walking backward in the direction of the portal.

"A little more, you can do it," said Bertram.

The trembling grew, the man struggled to keep his hands up, an invisible force pushed them down. Step by step the demon decreased the distance between him and the portal.

"Can't you open one of those things under him?" Screamed Agatha, surprising Flora who gave a little jump.

As soon as she said those words a new circle appeared under the beast, the demon fell, then Bertram closed the passage.

The tree branches returned to their original position.

"Thanks for the tip" whispered the teenager once the two young women got out of their safe place. "I must have looked like an idiot."

"I spent the whole attack hidden, it could be worse. Olvidate," said Flora as she patted his back. "We're all family and she doesn't even care about it, she's too busy worrying about Lorcan. What really matters is, Gellert, what was that?"

To prove her words, the journalist pointed to the librarian who was checking the physical condition of her friend. Agatha held the young man's hands and his painful expression vanished.

"Something I've been working on. I used his blood to control his body. We should return to the headquarters," commented Gellert. "The demon could attack once again."

"Where did you send him?" Asked the blonde.

"Somewhere inside the wood."

Stefan's piercing gaze followed the group as they stepped into the headquarters. Flora swore she could hear the questions forming inside the man's mind.

The simple idea of staying the rest of the day answering his doubts overwhelmed her. Someone else could manage that task, she needed to isolate herself in a place where she could continue her search, time was running out.

So she returned to her home.

Flora crossed the threshold of her house and took a deep breath in, joy invaded her lungs and then it spread throughout her entire being. Tears began to fall, the emotions were so many to take in.

She was back, back in her home.

Even if it was only for one night, she'll reconnect with her sanctuary, with the place she was forced to abandon weeks ago.

The young woman went inside her room with the intention of working there, to use the comfort of her queen size bed to bring inspiration. Yet, when she sat on the comfortable mattress, with only the moonlight that came through the window illuminating the environment, exhaustion defeated her.

She moved onto a laid-down position, her eyes stuck on the tulips painted on the ceiling. Not even ten minutes passed before she fell into a deep slumber.

The ringing of her cellphone woke her up the next morning. In an automatic motion, she answered the call.

"¿Hola?"

"I know you're in the middle of a self-discovery trip, but you really need to come to the headquarters." Answered Clio. "Start fucking running now, you have fifteen minutes."

The call was hung up. Soon, Flora dashed out of her house. Five blocks were enough for her to regret leaving her car at her best friend's house. At least it was a good exercise.

"Two minutes early, that's a new record," said Clio. The redhead waited for her at the front door of the headquarters. "Let's go, they're waiting for us."

"Are you going to spit out some information? This torturing Flora is getting out of fashion."

"You'll know once we're there."

They walked in the opposite direction of the headquarters. On the deserted road, a blue car went unnoticed, inside it Bertram, Noah, and Zygmunt were waiting for them.

"Speak kiddo," Clio ordered the teenager once they got into the vehicle next to him in the back seats.

"Hi Flora," Bertram greeted her, then he showed her the box she'd been trying to open for the past weeks. "You forgot this yesterday, I found it on the floor and after putting it together I couldn't help but notice that the map is missing a part."

"You recognize this map?" Excitement was present in the journalist's words.

"I studied it this semester, it's an old map of the village, before the renovation."

"Thank God you're an architecture student. You said a part is missing?"

"That's the interesting part," Noah chimed in from the driver's seat.

"Yes, a segment of the map is completely left out, which is kinda tricky because they did an excellent job at making it look like it's the original piece. The area of the wishing well should be here, but for some reason, they didn't add it to the map."

"Bertie you're a genius, if we found the light there I'm building you an altar." Flora squished the boy between her arms, his cheeks turned red in seconds. "Could you do us a last favor and open a portal for us?"

A new door presented itself for the investigation team, after all the hardships, manifesting when they less expected, came the right answer.

As they set foot on the destination the blonde thanked every force that could hear her for the blessing. She could feel it in her soul, the voices and doubts inside her head stopped, she was exactly where she wanted to be.

"How're we going to find the light?" Asked Zygmunt. "Do you want me to create a super hurricane to dig a big hole?"

"No! I'll be faster if I do it," Flora stopped the man before he unleashes chaos.

The young girl connected with the grass and the flowers, she felt the ground under them. Their whispers told her stories of hundreds of years, they were happy to be heard for once. She searched for the object, still, nothing came.

"It's not on the ground, I can't feel anything out of place,"

"But it has to be here," complained Clio.

"She said there's nothing on the ground, there's still one place left," said Noah, catching everyone's attention.

"That's it! " The old man agreed. "The Wishing well."
