Rave, I Think

Chapter Nine : Rave, I think.

"Hey where did you go after school?" Stiles asked as me and Isaac drove back to the subway station.

"Look-out point. Why what did I miss?"

"Why were you at Look-out point?"

"Why does it matter. Just what happened?" I was hoping Isaac wouldn't say anything.

"Uhh.. Well Apparently Jackson was removed from his mother's dead body. By c-section."

"That's why he would kill murderers. Right?"

"That's what we think but the report was inconclusive, so we're not sure."
"Okay, how did you find this out?"

"Erica, actually. Uhh yeah me and Scott are with her right now, Derek's here too. It's some old subway station." I turn my head to look at Isaac, He just holds up his hands defensively. I shake my head and look back at the road. "Cait, I think If we want to save Jackson we need Derek's help."

I glare at Isaac, "Why do you say that?"
"He's more powerful then a bunch of teens."

"In that case, I should tell you I'm on the way to the subway station...WIth Isaac."

"Why Isaac in the car with you?" His voice was more confused than mad.

"I run after here, she nearly lit me on fire, felt bad, said she would drive me home...in my car." Isaac said.

"Well I'll see you guys in a bit." Stiles hung up the phone.

"Why didn't you tell him the truth?" I asked my hands getting tighter around the wheel.

"Figured you wouldn't want me too. And that was the truth, I ran after you when you ran off. You did almost set me on fire. And you are driving."

"Well thanks."

"No problem."

The rest of the ride we were silent. Every once and a while Isaac would drum his hand agonist the dock in between our seats. The buildings went by, it was almost as peaceful as being at look-out point. A few times my mind would flash back to the fake memory for this morning. Or the look of terror in Isaac's face when the flames surrounded him.

We pulled up to the dusty entrance of the old subway. I take a breath in and park the car. Both of us get out. Both slightly shaken up. I can still hear the cracking of dry leaves burning in the middle of the woods. Stiles was waiting outside, as soon as we got close to the entrance he grabbed my arm and pulled me down the stairs.

"WHy the hell was lahey following you?"

"WHY would I know Stiles." I say. And it was true. I mean he said he wanted to talk, but what would he need to talk about. I saved his life and taught him control, in return he would leave me alone. Well that didn't happen but I was hoping that would have happened.

"Whatever." Stiles let go of my arm. In front of us stood Scott and Derek.

"Hey Cait where were you?" Scott asked, eyebrows furled.

"Look-out point."

"Why were you with Isaac."

I Roll my eyes, "Ask him that." BUt Scott didn't get the chance, seeing as Derek and Erica were already in the Lahey boy's grill. I snicker a bit at the way both groups of three looked.

Both had one girl and two guys, and in both the girl was done with everything and just really needed a nap. That was where the similarities ended though. One group was pepering the person who just walked in with questions the other was just sorta standing watching the other group.

"Stiles never told me why you guys were here?" I spoke at last.

"Erica had a seizure, and told us to bring her to Derek. Then Called Stiles batman. Now we're working together." Scott answers.

"To save him right? Not kill him?"

"To save Jackson."

I nodded, "Good."

Later that night I headed to the clinic. I was hopeful that Scott wasn't at work. The place said work hours ended half an hour ago, but I was hopeful. I walked into the unlocked building. "Work hours are over. We're closed." Deaton said from the back room.

"I understand that Doctor, but I was hoping for your supernatural opinion on something." I yell back at him, my feet staying on their place on the floor.

"Oh Caitlin. What seems to be the problem?" He asked when he came out from the back.

"Me. Today I saw something that never happened."

"What do you mean?" His voice was calm as I took a seat.

"I mean. I saw... a memory or something. BUt it never happened. Do you think it has to do with being in this world so long?"

"Possibly. You could have seen something that happened to this version of you. Something that happened to Caitlin Holmes. The witch. Not Caitlin Roads, The doppelganger."

"It's not just that. I made a ring of fire around Isaac Lahey, without thinking without looking at him. It just happened because I was mad."

"Well that is easy to explain. You have never used your abilities as much as you are now. They are getting stronger, you are becoming more powerful. Where were you when It happened?"

"Look-out point." I say, sitting up in my chair.

"The place is surrounded by elements so that would explain it as well. One last question?"

"Go right ahead."

"Do you know why you can control the elements the way you do?"

"Not really. I was born with it. It was explained to me as a built in defence if I were to get hurt on a different earth."

"I see. Well Caitlin, I believe it is only you getting stronger. And as for the memory. More may come, but know that it is not a bad thing." Deaton finishes.

Just as I stand up, Scott Derek and Isaac walk in the door. "Did you have to bring- Cait what are you doing here?" Scott stopped mid-sentence to ask me.

"Oh. I was just asking about my cat's food." Way to lie in front of three werewolves.

"Work hours are closed."

"That's why I was about to leave, but seeing as Alpha male and beta bitch are here, I think it may be best if I stay." I told my friend.

"Why is Isaac here?" Scott asked Derek as I leaned over the counter.

"I need him." Derek responds with no emotion.

"Yeah well I don't trust him."

"Yeah well he doesn't trust you either. At least I have Cait on my side."

"Just because I like you and trust you more than Erica, doesn't mean I like you or trust you. AND I will always be on Scott's side." I bite back at the beta.

"And Derek really doesn't care. Now Doc. Will you help us or not?" Derek switched from third person and directed his word to Deaton.

"That depends. Your friend Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?" Deaton asked, leaning in the door frame.

"Save him." "Kill Him." Scott and Derek spoke at the same time.

"SAVE him." I repeated what Scott said so Derek understands that muder is not the solution, to anything.

"Save him." Scott repeated facing his boss.

"In that case follow me." Deaton led us to the back room. All four of us stood on one side of the table. I was in between Scott and Isaac, Derek was on the end. ANd Deaton was placing a set of jars in front of us.

Isaac reached out to touch them, but Derek stopped him. "Watch what you touch." He said once more with a lack of emotion.

Isaac leaned on the table, "So what are you some kind of witch?"

I slapped him in the back of the head, "No I'm a witch. He's a veterinarian."

"She's right. Unfortunately, I don't see anything here that's going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin."

"We're open to suggestions." Derek said in a surprisingly soft tone of voice.

"What about an effective offense?" Isaac asked, still bent over the table.

"No we already tried. I nearly took its head off. And argent emptied an entire clip into it-" Derek starts

"Magazine." I mumble.

"What was that Cait?"

"He emptied a whole magazine into it. The difference being a maga can make any handgun a semi-automatic. Sorry, it just seemed to help your case." I shrug leaning over so my elbows are in the center of Isaac's back.

"Anyway, No matter what you do It just gets back up."

"Has it shown any weaknesses?" Deaton asked.

"Water." I said.

"Does that go for Jackson as well?"

"No. He's captain of the swim team." Scott spoke and we all turned to look at him.

"Really, you're trying to catch two people." Deaton spins around and diggs in a draw. He places a charm in between two fingers, "A puppet.."

"And a puppeteer." I finish for him.

Deaton placed the charm on the table, "One killed the husband, but the other had to take care of the wife. Do we know why?" Should we know why?

"I don't think Jackson could do it. His mother died pregnant too, and she was maybe murdered." Scott says.

"So you're saying he wouldn't let that happen to someone else?" I ask.

"Yeah. That's exactly what I'm saying."

"How do you know it's not part of the rules?" Isaac asked, pushing off the table and making my arms fall. "The kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wife, then the baby dies too."

"Does that make your father a murderer?" Scott asked his fellow beta.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he was."

"Well that's tragic." I whisper to no one in particular.

"Hold on." Deaton says, making us all face him. "The book says they're bonded, right?"

"Yeah." Me and Scott say together.

"What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him? What if something that affects the kanima also affects its master?" Deaton questions as he pours out mountain ash around the pendant from earlier.

"Meaning what?" The blue eyed brit asked.

"Meaning we can catch them. Both of them." Scott says.

"Okay but where are we going to get 50 pounds of mountain ash?" I ask the group.

"Here. I can supply you with it." Deaton says.

A set of images cross my mind. Derek biting Victoria Argent. Her sitting in her husband's lap and pushing a knife into her chest. Allison going dark.

"Caitlin?" Scott asked, placing his hands on my shoulders. I open my eyes to see my hands curled around the edge of the table, and the mountain ashe that was around the pendant is now spread around the room.

"I'm fine." I smile and lie. "Just a little dizzy."

The next day Scott, Stiles, and I are driving to school. "So your grand plan is to break into the rave?" I ask Scott as we pull into school.

"There has to be another way to get tickets, right?" Scott asked Stiles and I.

"It's a secret show. There's only one way, and it's a secret." Stiles said as we headed to the building.

"Hey. Do any of you guys know why no one's getting suspended after what happened the other day at school." I turn to see Matt talking to the boys.

"Forget about it, nobody got hurt." Stiles told him.

"I-I had a concussion." Matt argues back.

"Well no one got seriously hurt." Stiles talks back.

"I was in the ER for six hours."

"Hey do you want to know the truth Matt?" Stiles asked. Bending over, he placed his hand about three inches off the ground, "Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now." I bite the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing.

Scott just sighs, "Are you okay?" Damn you little true Alpha baby.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. So you didn't get any tickets last night either."

Scott nodded his head no, "Are they still selling?"

"Well no but I managed to find three online. You should keep trying, sounds like everyone is going to be there." Matt tells us as he walks around the group.

"I don't like him." Stiles says.

"Hey I was about to say the same thing." I tell my best friend.

"Are you two sure about this?" Stiles asked me and Scott.

"Last time, whoever's controlling jackson had to kill somebody because he didn't finish the job." I say allowing Scott to pick up.

"So what do you think he's going to do this time?"

"Be there to make sure it happens." Stiles said, sighing.

"That's where we come in." I tell the boys before spinning on my heels and walking into the school.

I slam my locker door shut. Only to be met with a smug Isaac. "I told you I don't want this becoming a thing." I tell the boy.

"I know. I just wanted to give you your ticket for that rave thing." He holds the paper in between two of his fingers.

I go to grab the ticket but he pulls it back, "If you make me kiss you to get this from you. I. Will. Burn you."

"Well that wasn't the original plan, but I like your idea better." He says with a smirk.

I punch the boy in the gut and take the ticket. "I'll never kiss you. Even if it meant the only way to keep you alive was mouth to mouth." I tell the boy who was now hunched over. I step on his foot with the point of my heel, and walk away from Isaac.

After school Stiles drives Scott, Lottie, and me to the animal clinic. We all head to the back room, where we were last night. Deaton is placing a clear liquid into a syringe. "What is that Ketamine?" Scott asked his boss, and he hung his coat up.

"Yes it's the same thing we use on the dogs. Just a higher dosage." He passes the syringe to Scott. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, It should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He grabbed a bottle of mountain ash. "This is some of what you'll use to creat the barrier. This part if on you Stiles and Charlotte. Just the two of you."

"Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure." Stiles says picking up the jar of ashes.

"Yeah, can we maybe find a slightly less pressure-filled task for us?" My sister jokes.

"What even is it?" Scott asked.

"Mountain ash." I say. "It is believed by many that it can protect against the supernatural."

"That's right. This office is lined with ashwood, making it difficult for someone like Scott to cause my any trouble." Deaton finishes.

"Why not Cait?" Lottie asked, placing the jar back on the table.

"There are few exceptions. Witch, people like me. Banshees, but they're just humans who can predict death. And a few others like druids and that's all that comes to mind." I tell my friends.

"Okay so what, me and Lottie just spread this around the whole building and then either JAckson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?"

"Yeah that's the plan. Still remember when Peter was trying to get into the building a month or two ago."

"Yeah you said there was some sort of barrier blocking him."

"This ash is that barrier. Jackson and his master will be trapped. But so will Scott any other werewolf.

"That does sound too bad." Scott tells his best friend.

"That's not all, think of it like gunpowder. It's just powder until a spark ignites it." Deaton says. "You both need to be that spark, Stiles, Charlotte."

"If you mean lit myself on fire because that's more Cait's thing." Why was he like this.

"Let me try a different analogy. I used to golf. I learned that the best golfers never swing before first imagining where they want the ball to go. They see it in their mind and then their mind takes over. It can be pretty extraordinary what the force of your own will can accomplish."

"Force of will. Got it." Lottie says to herself.

"If-if this going to work, both of you have to believe it." Scott and I turn to our friends. I smile at my sister and Stiles, Scott does the same.

Stiles drives us to the rave. The whole car ride no one spoke the whole way there. When we gto to the warehouse we all went to the trunk. "You okay?" I asked Stiles as he was the cause of the silence.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"You just didn't say anything the whole way here."

"I'm fine Cait. Can just help me with the other bag."

"I can't. Lottie can though. Deaton said it had to be the two of you."

"This plan is really starting to suck." My sister says as she replaces me at the back of the car.

Scott and I look over to see Erica and Isaac. "No not here."

"God please not not." We both complain as we run away from the jeep.

"LOTTIE"S RIGHT THIS PLAN SUCKS!" Stiles yells at us.

When Scott and I get inside, we end up separated. I start to push through the croad looking for the beta bitches. I noticed Isaac in the corner talking to Scott, so this plan was already going to hell. I decided against going to meet them instead trying to find the blond bimbo who calls herself Erica. The place should really have a seizure warning seeing as I can barely think with all the flashing and trashy music.

I end up right next to the front of the rave, where Erica is grinding on Isaac and dirty dancing with Jackson. My mind tells me no and my body tells me no, so I listen to both and walk away. "SCOTT!" I yell hoping his were-hearing will pick it up.

I make my way back outside to see a car coming after Scott. "SCOTT!" But I was too late. He got hit, then knocked out and now we were all magiarly screwed. Victoria Argent walked out of the car. I ran over to him, covering Scott's body with my own.

"Please don't do anything." I beg, trying to think of the phrases Mrs. Argent would tell her daughter. Calling Allison weak.

"Begging, Allison said you were strong." Victoria tells me before hitting me upside the head with the hilt of her knife, knocking me out as well.

I wake up to my head in Scott's lap. He was still out cold. I start to sit up remembering what had happened. A course pain runs through my head as I see the set of images from the other night once more. Victoria get's bit, then kills herself because of some dumb Argent code.

"Too bad you woke up first. I was hoping you didn't have to watch me kill your friend." I gulp and I sit up jumping off the table I was on. A ring of mountain ash goes around the table but I walk over it, breaking the conation. "How?"

"Do better research." I tell the grown women. Scott moans on the table.

"Mr. McCall, you probably recognize this device." Only then did I notice the poetry wheel type thing next to the female Argent. "Pot used to be smoked in a rolled up piece of paper. These days, it seems like all kids are given a free vaporizer with your medicinal marijuana card." Okay so turns out I know nothing about drugs. Though I will say that's for the best.

Victoria sniffs a cartale that was in her hand, "This type of wolfsbane is one of my favorites."

"Totally don't sound like a serial killer." My first plan was to just walk over to the red head and knock her out but she changed my leg to the table, so now I have to undo that before saving her life.

"Lovely smell." She powers on not caring about what I said. I place my hand on the chains and start to melt them. But from the looks of things they are solid iron, so fire to iron will take a while. "You probably won't think so." She places the clear container on the top of the pot thingy. (Yeah really know nothing about drugs.)

"What are you doing?" Scott pains out. His voice was somewhere between just woke up and I was prolly poisoned. Which both are true so.

"It's it obvious? I'm killing you." Victoria turns on the vaporiser and a yellow smoke comes out from the wolfsbane. I cursed under my breath trying to get the chains to melt faster. I think really hard about moving the wolfsbane in the opposite direction of Scott but it won't help, he would still smell it, it would still kill.

"STOP IT PLEASE!" I hear myself beg, the hot chains now burning my ankle.

"It will look like an accident. Like you had an asthma attack and couldn't get to your in haler in time. Your school records show you have a pretty severe case of asthma."

"Just, get Cait out. If you're going to kill me, let her go." Scott can hardly get the words out. I hear the scratching sound of claws on the wood table.

"STOP IT!" I yell, the chains now orange.

"It's too late miss Holmes." Scott tries to stand but Victoria stops him. Kicking him off the table to the other side where I wasn't sitting.

A choked scream leaves my body from the pain of the hot metal on my leg. A flame lits itself on the wall. But it didn't just light. It burned a dark parten into the side of the wooden wall. One circle inside of another. The McCall pack sign. A quick breath is released from my mouth as the chains burn deeper into my skin.

"What is that?" Victoria asks me as the room's air becomes more and more yellow.

"A symbol? I don't know, okay, just let us go." I lie to the Argent.

"Doesn't matter. Alpha beta, but you Scott?" He's the true alpha Scott McCall saver and protector of Beacon Hills. Images of Scott as an Alpha cross my mind. His roaring and saving Malia. Breaking past the dark druids mountain ash circle. Hiding in that one hunters club in Mexico. Biting Liam. Just flashes of what he does. I forced my eyes open, the orange chains close to burning holes in my skin. "Omega. Don't you know the lone wolf never survives without a pack?"

The last chain melts and I stand, "Who ever said he didn't have a pack?" I ask lifting my arm up to push Victoria back. Her body hits the wall from the gust of air. I run over to the vaporiser and turn it off, at the very least I can stop more aconite from coming into the air.

"She's right, I'm-I'm not alone." Scott lets out a roar before coughing from the air. I feel a pit in my stomach form as my hands move through the air. I was like a vacuma sucing up all the wolfsbane in the room. Soon the pain becomes too much and I fall to the ground. "Allison..tell her I'm sorry." Scott coughs out. That was the last thing I heard before the room went dark. My power may be growing but I don't know how long I can control it.

When I wake up I'm in a chair at the animal clinic. Scott is getting patched up on a table in the center of the room. Derek was holding me up, my back agonist a brick wall. "Derek? What happened?"

"I was hoping you could tell."

I try to sit up right as Deaton wakes Scott. "Dr. Deaton, thank you." I say as he walks out of the room.

"How much can you remember?" Derek asked me, as he helped me stand.

"Victoria Argent, she kidnapped us and tried to poison Scott with wolfsbane."

"When I got in the room there was no wolfsbane, it just smelled like it."

"I know. Somehow. I got rid of it. Like I vacuumed the air. But evidently the power was too much and I blacked out."

I walk out the room to the main entrance. There sat Ms. Morell. Or if I can remember correctly, Deaton's sister. She looked me up and down before saying, "The doppelganger, impressive."

"The two emissaries who help teenagers. Thank you."

"Caitlin." Deaton calls when I place my hand on the door.

"Yeah?"

"There was one thing I wanted to ask you about."

"And that would be."

"The symbol that was burned into the wall, Derek showed me a picture. Do you know what it is?"

"Of course I do. It's the pack symbol of the True Alpha." With that I leave the two emissaries behind and walk home.

I had enough Supernatural beings for one night. One last vision pains my eyes. Victoria Argent in her husband's arms, showing off the bit Derek gave her. Showing the thing that will bring her to her grave.
